I feel the same way. My Dh has seen how good I have done and so he wants me to help him, but he won't listen to me. He still comes home and eats all the time. He grabs what ever he can from the cupboard when he gets home (usually nothing healthy) and then he grabs ice cream or popcorn after supper yet. I sit there and watch him eat it. That is hard. He is like, I have the extra calories today so he will eat it. He just doesn't get it. He doesn't eat enough throughout the day and then pigs out on the wrong calories at night.

I don't want to nag him, but don't know how to get him to stop or how to say it without sounding like I am nagging him.

OH! I forgot some of my post :P
I pack him a lunch to take to work with him, trying to sneak in some more healthy alternatives (GORP, etc) and try to keep the soda out of the house. He hates drinking water so I try to stock juice or a healthy alternative. Junk food, unfortunately, is a mainstay to him and he's thin so he doesn't see anything wrong with it. I keep telling him that, at 40, he needs to start watching cholesterol, etc but he's not listening just yet.

My husband works weird shifts too, mostly 3rd shift but goes in anywhere from 9-10pm and doesn't get off until they're done with him.
He's thin and when I mentioned wanting to get rid of the junk food in the house (cookies, candy, cakes, CRAP!!), he nearly had a cow. He wants to know why everyone has to eat healthy just because I want to lose weight. We actually had a mini-tiff over it!
I don't think he really knows how much that hurt or how difficult it is to be the only one in a household eating healthy food while everyone around you is burying themselves in chocolate (which I looooove). I tried explaining that to him but all he hears is that I'm denying him his junk food.
I guess I'll just end up fixing separate meals for myself. *sigh*

Sounds just like my hubby. It took two years of married life watching me eat my eggs and toast and turkey bacon till he showed an interest. Now he even cooks breakfast! Lunches have also evolved this way. Now if I don't pack a lunch I hear about it. Problem: He still comes home and wants to eat everything in sight! LOL!

My boyfriend was the same way. Without asking, I began to pack him a lunch every morning when I make mine and he gladly accepted and now takes his lunch everyday. He is less hungry when he gets home and he seems to be eating more fruits and vegetables.

Sounds as if he is a tradesman. My DH is one that is his typical day.

My two cents is pack the lunch. This way he is not so hungry when he gets home and it helps with what he is eating.

Careful on what you pack though. Sandwiches, chips, fruit, and drink. Nothing to girlie or diet food as DH refers to it. Maybe a cookie or two, they don't have to know that it is not full fat.

With him moving around all they burn off a lot of calories. That is their form of exercise, that is if my assumption is correct.

My sig/other works a 10 or 11hrs a day without eating anything with the excuse no money[true] or that would just take him longer to finish his jobs. I have tried to help by getting up with him and offering him at least a breakfast or to make a lunch. What happens is that he comes home late and wants to eat everything under the sun. And the worst is that he eats too late at night. I'm worried about him, his mother just had a heart attack 6 mos. ago. Please help me to help him.
