When I talked to my OB/Gyn at my last check up, he said that when we started trying for #2 to just stick with it the SparkPeople stuff. He felt that the calories were pretty much right although I should shoot for the middle to higher ends. The exercise won't hurt the baby so long as it's lower impact. Talk to your doctor. Keep working out until you are just too uncomfortable to do it . . . and include Kegels in your workout . . . and continue them after the baby is born.
And most importantly, CONGRATULATIONS! kids are life's greatest blessing . . . and also one of the more trying! LOL!

If you have been regularly exercising then most exercises you can continue to do for a good while into your pregnancy.

If you haven't joined yet, definitely join SP sister site Babyfit. www.babyfit.com You can get your nutrition needs adjusted for the pregnancy, and find safe exercises and such. My first BabyFit baby is 2 and a half and our mommies by month team is still actively chatting. It is addictive! :) Keep doing the same exercise routine right now. You will need to drop crunches soon, but otherwise most exercises are safe. Your target heart rate changes to be sure you have plenty of blood flowing to you and the baby. Be sure to set up a fitness plan on BabyFit to help you stay on track throughout the pregnancy. My BF name is journeyoffaith. There is also a spark team of BabyFit mommies. You can find it on my spark page.

I just joined Sparkpeople 3 months ago, but I have recently found out that I am pregnant. Sparkpeople has taught me alot about a healthy lifestyle but how can I incorporate that into a healthy active pregnancy? I am sure I will be using Sparkpeople again when the baby is born but until then I need some advice on staying active but safe and eating right and not going overboard. Does anyone have some helpful guidelines? Thanks.
