My 7 yr old Step Daughter (SD) was wanting to teach her sister, DD (18 months), the alphabet. I'm just pretending not to pay attention typing on the computer.
SD writes out the alphabet and sits her sister in the chair and tries to get her to stay. Which is comical because she kept getting up and walking away or trying to touch the board. All to the complaints from her. SD finally gave up on the chair approach and "allowed" for standing and eating fruit in front of the board.
Now she points to a letter and asks her to repeat it. A she says and makes the sound. DD repeated it and SD was boucing all over the house. This went on for about 30 minutes. Mind you she only repeated A, but nonetheless success!
Then some neighborhood kids came by to play. SD went outside, but was telling the other kids that she taught her sister how to say A. So they wanted to hear it of course. So, SD took her sister by the hand and brought her to the door for the kids to hear her say A. SD asks DD to say A. DD with a mouth full looks at her and walks away.
It was classic. The other kids were just laughing at SD trying to encourage DD to repeat the letter again. Which was all soon forgotten when they got out their bikes and scooters.
Very cute, I guess you really had to be there.

Me: "Are you a sweet little girl?"
DD: *licks her hand* "I taste like salt!"
Thought it might be nice to share some cute kid stories, as it's not all crisis when you raise kid(s). Mine's a character.
