When my two were young it seemed that they got sick more after school started back in the Fall. They seem to build up a tolerance after that and it gets better. Hang in there. :-)

My daughter, 17 month old, gets sick pretty easy too. It is hard when she has an older sister who comes to us on the weekend and is sick or carrying the germs with her from school.

The thing I try to do is push fluids when she is sick and consistently give a multivitamin to her with C.

I have seen a difference. I don't know if you do these things, but if not it is worth a shot.

I feel for her and you. It's tough to see her go through these things. I understand.

I remember when I was a kid, I was sick all the time too. Colds, strep (prolly 4 times a yr), pinkeye, chicken pox...anything someone else had BOOM it jumped on me. I still get stuff more than other people do. Just low resistant immune system I guess. Now I take oil of oregano capsules if I feel something come on, but this being a child I don't know about that for you. Last 3 colds, I barely got sick taking them & was really bad only 1 day & next day quite improved. If you do chose to try to give an herbal to kid, make sure MAKE SURE to check with your doctor 1st & 2ndly talk to a knowledgeable person in the herb store. Other than that my sympathies to your child...I've been her same boat, bless her heart!

When my oldest started school we were in the same boat. She did not go to pre-school (I taught preschool before kids) so I just worked with her at home. I think that those who do go to preschool have been exposed to all that stuff out there, and so they build a tolerance.

Your'e the mom, don't let the school make you doubt yourself. If shes sick its okay to keep her home. Ask the teacher what you can do to keep her on track. Don't fret, its kindergarten.

I feel bad for my 5 year old because it seems every month now she has some form of illness. I feel bad too because the school calls (she's in kindergarten) to check as if I am just keeping her home for no reason. I worry that she might fall behind because kindergarten is not what it used to be. They have already began reading Level 1 books! She has had double ear infections 3 times. The flu. Strep throat two weeks ago. We went back to the doctor for a follow up and she still has a sore throat now accompanied with a fever! I get scared when the fever gets past 101! I guess it has just been a bad year. We are lucky in that the strep throat was just that because the doc first thought it whooping cough which would mean a possible stay in the hospital.
