Reminds of a friend of mine, she got a note from her son's school because they were concerned he never wanted lunch. Turns out she fed him breakfast, took him to daycare - where they fed him breakfast, he went to school - where he ate breakfast. So of course he was never hungry for lunch (but was starved when he got back to the daycare after school). Anyway.....
If you can figure out the pattern - does she eat at school just cause she ends up in the room where everyone is eating? Can she go somewhere else instead. Is she hanging out with friends who always eat breakfast there? Would she be willing to take a healthy treat with her to eat while her friends are eating? It might help if it is really seen as a treat (if friends are eating poptarts it may be pretty tough to have an apple) so if there is something she really enjoys for breakfast that she could take with her to eat there and not eat so much at home before she goes????

I am sorry - I giggled reading that. Ihave a 7 yr old and I was picturing her doing that. Can you tell the school not to serve her breakfast unless she has money in hand (meaining you OKed it)?

I'm a new mom of an 8 year old little girl. Her doctor said she's obese (4'8", 100#). She has gained weight since coming to use last April (about 1# a week!)
Well, a couple months ago, I finally wised up that I need to be help her be healthy...goodby junk food, hellp fruits. Good by school breakfast/lunches, hellp meals at/from home.
Well, I let her eat lunch at school once a week if there's something she really wants (they send home a menu each week). I got a big bill yesterday. The little sneak eats breakfast I serve her at home, then goes to school and eats breakfast AGAIN!! And they serve junk - donuts, pop tarts, etc...
I have literally beein going nuts thinking I'm doing something wrong, and trying to figure out what it was, when it's her eating breakfast TWICE! I swear I'm not starving her, and she gets treats a couple times a week, and I have her in dance and soccer, and we are active together.
