| My daughter wet the bed until she was 9 years old. I had her checked out by doctors and they said she had a weak bladder and she would outgrow the bed wetting. Which she did it is also common with ADHD and it runs in families. I found out I was a bed wetter when I was younger. I hope this helps there also things that you can use when they get older like bed alarms. But I wouldn't worry about those unless she is still wetting the bed after 6 or 7 years. | This is very common, more so in boys, but girls can have this issue too. A friend of mine, her son was about 12 years old and still wetting the bed, she took him to see a dr. and they gave him some medicine in the form of a nasal spray and said that a part of the brain is what causes this and the medicine counteracts it. He is 19 years old now and doesn't have any problems and is no longer on the medicine. I was told that sometimes a child's bladder doesn't mature as fast as the rest of the body and it can also cause bed wetting. Hope this helps. Have a great day.

Try not to let it bother you and make sure you don't make her feel guilty about it. It is rather common for 4 year olds to still wet at night. My second DD wet at night until she was 5 1/2 years and our oldest son wet at night until he was 6. We actually took our son to the chiroprator shortly after he turned 6 and that is what got him to stop. He is 7 year old now and still sometimes has accidents at night, but when he has them, we take him back to the chiropractor and that seems to work. He is in wrestling so that might be what gets him out of wack.
Drs tell you not to worry about it until they get to be 6 years old. It is more common then you relize.

| Dose your child wet during the day? dose your child have a bad odor smell? Dose your child know when they wet themselves every time? dose your child get bladder infections easily? This was my 4 yr old. We took her to a specialist and found out she had bladder problems and is now on Med's all year. If this doesn't help she will need surgery. Talk to your doctor and see what they say.

My son use to bed wet till he was 5. I stopped letting him drink around 2 hours before bedtime. He hated it but it seemed to work. Also Make her hold it during the day when she knows she needs to go. it makes the bladder muscles stronger.
My son has a few mistakes if he drinks alot before bed and he's 7. But very rare.

BED WETTING HAS BEEN SOMETHING I HAVE TO STRUGGLE WITH IN MY CHILDREN ESPECIALLY A 4 YEARS OLD, THOUGH SHE IS SO PLAYFULL.
