Congrats on Graduation!! I am so excited for you! I've heard of the Sonoma diet, but am not familiar with it. Right now I am trying to watch my starchy carb intake to get my sugar cravings out of my system. Doing a cleansing type of thing. But normally I will have starchy carbs for my first 3 meals and then none after 2 or 3pm. I am trying to eat more veggies too. I get a lot of lean protein to help keep my muscle mass. Eventhough my scale is up and down and right now I am up to 147 my body definitely looks different than it used to at 147. So, I know the muscle I have gained is making a difference. Glad you found a plan you can do. So, are you getting your exercise in?
Last I heard about Jocelyn was that she was in a hospital in Baltimore I think. She was having tests done because there was something wrong with her lungs. I haven't heard any updates. Her Mom was going to go stay with Roland and the kids I think. He was taking off from work for a couple weeks while this was going on. But, I never heard anymore. So, if I do I'll let you know. I think Debbie got the email too. Maybe she got an update.
As for Michelle, I haven't heard from her. I sent her a birthday message in March, but never got a reply back. I hope all is well with her.
Well, I have a sick child at home, Sarah, and a little wild man. She was upset that she is missing school with only 2 more days left(snow make up days) otherwise today would have been her last day. But, she felt just terrible. She seems to be feeling a little better now. Hopefully, she won't be sick all weekend. I think she'll be fine tomorrow.
I think I need to find time for a nap today!
Have a great day!! Cindi

Well,I started the Sonoma Diet. The food so far has been great & the kids love it! That's the best part. It incorporates lots of whole grains, veges, fruit & lean meat. Lots of olive oil & garlic! No counting calories or those things I am horrible at. I have lost 2 pounds in 3 days, & eaten more than I ever do! So, just to continue.
Today was my final. Tomorrow is graduation rehersal. It is hard to believe this is coming to an end!
Has anyone heard from Jocelyn or Michelle? I wonder how much longer Jocelyn will be in Germany.
It is cold & rainy here. We have been getting so much rain...I can't stand it.

Kathy, good to hear from you and glad all is well! Congrats!! So, I guess Matt is still with his Mom? That is his name, right? So, how are the boys doing down there? Do they like it, do you talk to them? Does Stephanie see them since she is down there too? Enough about them!lol That is great that you got a job in the NICU at John Hopkins like you wanted. Those babies need special nurses and special people. One of Kathryn's NICU nurses kept in contact with my sister all 3 years and then came to the funeral home. I know you will be great at that job. Especially since you went through that. Good luck with your boards. I am sure you'll do fine. Glad to hear all the kids are doing good. So, where does Angela want to go to school now? Ok, no more excuses, get your booty to the Y!!lol
I got down to 143.8 right before Mother's day then blew it. I have been craving sweets and junk all week. Then AF arrived today, 4 days early. SO, I'll be back on track really soon. I have been exercising like a maniac though. Today was my day off. Sat. I am doing a boot camp at the gym led by a Marine. I am nervous, but at least it is only an hour long. What makes me nervous is we are doing teams. I am afraid I'll be the wuss on my team.lol
I am off to bed. kids only have a week and half of school left, but I still have to get up at 6 am for another week and a half. So, off to bed I go!!
Talk to you soon!

Hi everyone!!
I have been thinking about you all & was glad to see some of you still on here.
I am FINALLY finished school. Well, I have my final on Wednesday, but I'm not too worried about it. I am SO excited to finally be done. I have a job lined up...as long as I pass my state board exam. I will start at Johns Hopkins Hospital in August in the neonatal intensive care unit. My dreams are falling into place. My whole purpose in going to school was to work in NICU. It will be nice to have June & July to relax.
We are having an aupair come from Ukraine and be with us for a year. She is 21 years old & will arrive July 10. We are very excited about that!
Aaron will graduate from high school June 4. He will be going to Virginia Tech in the fall. It is about 5 - 6 hours away. I hope he likes it. Stephaine is finishing her year at Texas A & M in Galveston. Michelle - right in your neck of the woods. She transferred there after a year at Salisbury here in Maryland. She started out wanting to do Marine biology & has switched to environmental studies, which I think will give her a much better job outlook. Angela is taking some time off. She is ready to start back to school, but is in a situation where she now will need to work as well as go to school. She basically wasted the 2 years at University of Toronto. Live and learn. She is 21 and I think she now realizes mom & dad pretty much knew what they were talking about. She is a good kid, but still needs to grow up! Justin moved to TX to live with his mother. OH HAPPY DAYS!!!!!!! We had some horrible days here before his dad agreed to let him leave. It is the single best thing that has happened for our home....sad, but true. Elisabeth is finishing elementary school! Hard to believe! She is still a tiny little bit of a thing. She and Hayley are still doing violin & loving it. They are both in scouts, but Hayley wants to quit.
I am still spouting off the same thing I've been reciting for the past 3-4 years & still have the same weight (plus more) to battle. I am hoping to use my time before I start work to make some progress. I have about 23 pounds to lose. We have a membership at the YMCA and Rick & the girls have used it faithfully while I sat home on my butt studying. Now, my excuses are being taken away!!
I hope to be able to committ to doing what I need to do & will be trying to check in here frequently. I can't wait to catch up with you all!
Kathy

Cindi ~ Sure, send me the pictures! We do need a van, but I'm not sure how much Mark is willing to spend. We are still waiting to see what a new engine would cost for our car. My email is the same....sometimes it will kick back to people if I have too much in my inbox so I will delete a bunch of stuff and see what happens. I have been wondering what was/is going on with Jocelyn too. I haven't heard...

Debbie, Good to see you. Sorry to hear things aren't great right now, but I am sure they will perk up soon. Let me know how that dr. does for you.
I don't know what your financial situation is or what you need as far as a vehicle. But, I am selling a 2003 Honda Odyssey(minivan). It has 75K miles and leather interior and in great condition, new brakes, automatic doors, heated seats, etc. I think the retail on it is $15K-16K. We are asking $13,900, but we are able to be a little flexible with that. So, if that is something you are interested in let me know. I sent out an email to a bunch of people with the pictures and info and yours was sent back to me. I guess you have a different email now. I just sent to a lot of people in case anyone knew of anyone interested in it. I NEED to sell it. SO, if you aren't, but know of someone who is, let me know. If you want me to send you the email, let me know what your new email is.
Has anyone heard anymore about Jocelyn? Has anyone heard from Kathy or Michelle? I am curious how they are doing. I tried to send Kathy an email and it was sent back. I have a new email if you all don't have it, it's Dancin22@insightbb.com
Sarah is making her First Communion on Sat. and I have a lot to do around here to get ready for the party and Danny will be out of town the next 3 days. So, I better get busy!!
Have a wonderful day, week, month!!! lol

Hi Everyone, Well my 39th bday came and went this month and I won't say too much about it other tha it was pretty uneventful. I was really hoping Mark would get my wedding ring fixed. Four of the six rubies have fallen out so I'm not even wearing it anymore. Hopefully my bday will be better next year.
I have been having a really hard time with depression lately and we can't figure out what is going on. My blood sugar levels are going through the roof, which only adds to the depression, which then causes the blood sugar to go even higher. It's quite the vicious cycle. I have made an appt. to see Dr. Asa Andrew in Nashville on May 29th. He has helped many people at Mark's work with various ailments. He was a bodybuilder type who came down with diabetes and then beat it so I'm hoping he can help me do the same. I'm at the point where I just don't want to live the rest of my life feeling like crap all of the time.
Anyway, enough about my woes. I did go on an awesome Women's Retreat with my church a few weekends ago. It was so great b/c it was so simple and without pretense. The women are wonderful b/c they are just there to learn and worship about God and have a great time together. There's no bickering, back-biting, etc. that you find in so many organizations.
Last weekend we went to our first Tae Kwo Do tournament in Memphis. Everyone competed except for me...I'm just not into it like the others are right now. Ashlyn rec'd a fourth place trophy in Forms, Drake rec'd a fourth place trophy in sparring and Isabella got a trophy for Speed and Power. Mark actually placed 3rd in sparring so that was fun to watch. :) They all graduated to the next belt this past Saturday and they honored Drake as the Student of the Month. He really has taken to this and he does TKD ALL of the time, driving the rest of us crazy!
After the tournament, all hell started to break loose here. Our grill, lawnmower, water heater, and car all decided to die w/in two weeks. Saturday, Mark bought a new grill, lawnmower and water heater and installed the water heater. He is borrowing a coworkers truck this week to get to work while we await the fate of our car. The engine is shot so they are going to look for a new engine. If it's too much, we will just let the car go. If that happens, then I will be taking Mark into work every day until we buy something else. The water heater problem was our 4th water problem with this house since we decided to try and sell it. We are ready to forsake home ownership for renting after this. We are so tired of fixing stuff. And no, our house is still not on the market yet. Mark has to redo the kitchen countertops and then we are listing it. I can't wait. I'm even starting to look for places to rent down in Franklin just to get out of here.
On a good note, I'm still doing Jazzercise, but with a knee brace. My chiro wants me to quit going, but the brace is helping a lot and the exercise will help with the blood sugars.
The kids are asking for lunch so I need to hop off of here. I hope I see some posts from some of you!

Hello!
Debbie, good to see you. Sorry you had to do the garbage duty on Easter, but at least you made the best of it:) So, you have 5 lbs to go? Not too bad. But, I do know how hard it is to lose those last 5lbs. I've been doing great with the exercise, but not the best with food choices. Overall, not bad, but with Easter and stuff I've had too much junk lately. Basically, I've been counting my calories and losing, so I haven't been as strict with the food. BUT, now I am at the point I have to get a bit stricter if I want to see better results. It should be easier with Easter over. I am going to a 7 day strict eating plan to cleanse the sugar out of my system. I'm going to try to do minimal sugar. I'll have fruit, but that's all and not too much of it. I'm trying to stick with starchy carbs at my first 2 or 3 meals and then no more the rest of the day and having protein with those, then lean meats and veggies the other 2-3 meals. And keeping track of my calories so I stay within my range. I am hoping to drop some of this water weight plus 2 lbs by next Wed. Danny has a big business conf. in town and we'll be doing dinners and receptions every night from Wed-Sat. So, I want to look good!lol YOu know we REALLY need to get together sometime!! We keep saying that, but we really need to.
Well, that's it from me today. AF arrived Monday night, so I am fighting fatigue and cravings. I think I might put a Dora movie on in my room and lay down with the boys and see if I can catch a few zzz's.
Michelle, if you pop in here, which I doubt, BUT, if you do HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! I'll email ya too!
Oh, and be sure to say some prayers for Jocelyn!!
Love y'all!

Hey, I managed to find you all again! I usually type STBS in the search and the latest post will come up and it didn't happen so I haven't been on here.
We have been busy as usual. Drake celebrated his 9th bday on March 9th, but we didn't have his party until the 15th due to the snow we had. We had 6 little boys at the house and it actually went smoothly. I was glad to have Mark here to help.
Then last week we were going to bid on a house at auction, but after we inspected the house, we decided not to. There were major foundation issues with this place. It's too bad because it was only 10 min from Mark's work. We want to move so badly. I just keep praying nothing else happens to our current house so we can put it on the market.
This past weekend, Mark finally finished the floors in the main part of the house. Now I need to send in pictures to the claims adjuster so we can get our final insurance check. Our next project is to redo the kitchen countertops. We are still debating on whether to replace the cabinets. Mark has been working a lot of overtime so that has really put us back time-wise. We are also waiting for the landscaper to do the front yard. Because of our strange weather, his schedule keeps getting pushed back. It's all been pretty frustrating. I can't wait to put this place on the market and get out of here!
We had a weird Easter. We went to church in the morning and then we had to do the trash at Dave's so while Mark & the kids were on a different floor, I hid Easter eggs around the office for the kids. They were really surprised and had a great time looking for them.
Hi Randi ~ Yes, I have reached goal...on ediets it was 123, but I always wanted to be around 110. Hey, are you flooded out? I hope you are okay.
Cindi ~ Your new trainer sounds fantastic. I weighed yesterday and was 115 and not 110 like I would like. I need to get back to Jazzercise. I think I've been 3 times this month. I'll keep your family in prayer over Kathryn. That must be so hard.
Did you all get the email from Jocelyn? I was trying to figure out if I would be able to see her while she is in Maryland, but I'm not sure if I can swing it.
Kids are now up, so I need to get going and make myself go to jazzercise this morning. I've been really slacking in that area lately. I hope you are all doing well. I also hope to be on here more now that I have found you all again! Sorry you had to talk to yourself Randi!

Ok, so where did you go? You still losing, staying on track. Keep it up!
I started seeing a trainer this week. He is over half the price of the other trainers at the gym. He is great! He worked my butt off this week. I see him on T/Th and then do spinning M/W/F. I am doing about 1400 calories a day, but cutting back a bit on days I don't exercise. I think this will work for me. He'll keep me accountable and won't let me veer off track. Plus, if I know I'll be seeing him I will try harder to stay on track. I really want to see the 130's this time. I am setting my goal of 135 by May 1st. That seems doable. I'd like to see 140 by April 1st. We have weddings, confirmations, First Communions, bdays and other stuff coming up, oh, and Derby and Easter. So, it will be a challenge, but this is why I need him right now. To keep me accountable and not going way overboard. I will need to hire him at Christmas too! And in the summer to keep my in bathing suit shape all summer and not just the first month.lol
This is also the month of Kathryn's bday, last Tues and then the anniversary of her death, the 24th. So, it's going to be a long, emotional month. I need to stay busy and stay on track! Say a little prayer for my sister please. It will be worse for her. Today is her son's bday, so she has something to celebrate this month.
I am home today with 5 kids and expecting up to 12 in. of snow by tomorrow afternoon! We haven't had that much snow in a loooonnnnnngggggg time. It's been a few years. So, the kids will have fun, glad it's coming on the weekend, then when it melts and warms up, hopefully, we will be done with snow for this winter. It would be nice to have this stuff over Christmas, not in MARCH! We were actually getting 60-70 degree weather last week!
We will enjoy while it lasts. Who knows how long before we get it again.
I better get moving. I have a lot to do around here today.
MAKE IT A GREAT DAY!! Cindi
Debbie, I need to check out your blog to see what you've been up to, but I keep forgetting. It seems I am so busy these days. Looks like we all are though:)

Hi, just wanted to let you know I'm here, but have been sick all week with strep and it has gotten worse, so went back to the dr. today and am just waiting for this pain to go away. I am off to have some hot chick. noodle soup and then lie down while the boys are watching a movie.

Good evening, Skinnies!
Here's a bit of funny. I just told my dh I wasn't talking to myself any more since Cindi posted and he said, "I'm sorry. Isn't that a bit mean not talking to yourself." LOL When I finally got it I couldn't help laughing.
Cindi~ Actually I wasn't even going to check on here today for some reason, but I decided I'd better just in case. Thanks for the congrats!
I lost another 1 lb this week too! 2 more weeks and it will be 6 wks straight of losing! Hope I can keep it up.
I hope next month goes well for you. {{{{{HUGS}}}}}
I know the feeling with wanting the kids in school! We don't have ice or snow down here, but Jeremy got sick last night & wasn't allowed to go to school today. I also noticed a major rash all over his body! His daddy had to stay home today so I could go to my TOPS meeting this morning. And Jeremy probably won't be back in school tomorrow either. If he's not I'll take him in to the dr. although I have other things I need to do like shopping and housework and going for a walk. :-(
Everyone else~ Where are you? I know we still have more Skinnies around here! Did everyone hit their goal and leave? Come talk to me & Cindi!!! {{{HUGS}}} to everyone!

Hi girls!
It's strange, but I kept checking the other thread and posted a couple times and didn't see anyone, so I didn't check for awhile figuring I'd get an email when someone did, but NO! No email. SO, I just happened to check and now we have this thread with Randi all by herself. sorry Randi. Now that I've posted you probably won't because that's how it happens here.lol
Randi, congrats on 187.5. That is awesome. Last time we were both on here you were just under 200, so you are doing GREAT!! Keep it up and you will see your goal by November.
I, on the other hand, gained over the holidays and have been a little down with the Anniversary of Kathryn's death coming up in March. Her birthday is the 4th and she died on the 24th, so the whole month will be a bad month. Well, except for Daniel's and my Mom's bday on the 15th. And then I know Michelle's is the 26th, same as my brothers. Anyway.... I decided to not let it affect my goals. I need to keep going. I am trying to do it right this time and go slower with it and not deprive myself. So, I started back serious and strong last Friday and I've lost about 3lbs this week. I am curious to see what the scale says tomorrow. I am trying not to get obsessive with exercise and just counting calories and making the ones I eat healthy ones. So, I am shooting for a 10 lb loss in 6 weeks. I don't know if I will or not because I also had my fat % done and it was high too. So, my main goal is to decrease that by at least 4% in 6 weeks. I hope I can do that. Anyway, I am working at it and all I can do is my best and my body will do the rest. Whatever I lose will be a loss and I will keep going. Danny has a big business thing in 6 weeks and this year it's here in Louisville, so I want to be at least back down to where I was last time I saw them. I'd like to be in better shape though.
Debbie~good to see you too. Hope all is well.
Well, I just got off the treadmill a little while ago and my body temp just dropped and now I'm freezing, so I'm going to go get warm and go to bed.
We had an ice storm today, so I am not sure what school will do tomorrow. They got out early today. I hope they go to school though. I have things to do.
I am off to bed.
Have a great night.
I'll keep checking back!!

People are going to think I'm crazy. Come on, Skinnies where are you all hiding?

Good evening, Skinnies!
So where is everyone??? Am I just going to be talking to myself again??? Deja vu... Didn't I do this once before??? LOL. I hope everyone is well. Jump on if you have the time. I want to talk to someone besides myself. :-)
{{{HUGS}}} to all the Skinnies! Drink your water, do your exercise, & eat your fruits & veggies!!! Hopefully I'll talk to y'all later!

Good evening, Skinnies!
So how is everyone? No one checking in lately? Well, I haven't done as well as I should. The only exercise I've gotten this week is a 2 mile walk on Tues. :-( I really need to get off my booty and get it in gear! Next week will be better!!!
Debbie~ Have you reached goal??? I thought that's what your counter said. If not how much 'til you reach it? I've still got 60 lbs. but going from 204.75 lbs. in Oct. to 190.0 now isn't too bad. I'm starting to fit into a few 16's but mostly 18's. At least that's better than the 20's!
To everyone~ I hope you're all having a great weekend! {{{HUGS}}} to all!

Good Morning, Skinnies!
I thought I'd start us a new thread. Any objections to a monthly one? Or should we do one for longer periods of time?
Guess what I lost 1/4 of a pound this past week! Even with the Super Bowl! Yeah, I know it isn't much, but it's still something!!! Now to just lose the other 60 lbs.!!! (hopefully by Nov.)
Debbie~ I understand about not being motivated to get on. On one of my groups I was talking to myself for weeks. Then I just stopped showingup. :-( Now some others have started a Conway group. I'm hoping this one stays going, but I'm not so sure. :-( The people in my town just don't want to keep in touch that much apparently. Either that or they've met for real and no longer support each other online. I don't know. I was afraid everyone had left me here too. :-( It seems everytime I come back everyone gets too busy to chat. Am I annoying or something? Or just have really bad timing???
{{{HUGS}}} to all! Hope you all have a great day! Post soon!!! I miss eveyone!
