If I were you I would try my high schools if it were for after school hours, maybe ask the secretary or principal if they can recommend anyone who may want a little extra money, I would call your local WIC office (WIC-women,infant,children)if you have one close to you or maybe check with your jobs and family plus centers if you have one of those available to you. Maybe your church or one that's close to you, run a newspaper ad and do a complete background check on them.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to find a good babysitter? I've tried sittercity.com and care.com and found a few people to interview, but when I met them they didn't seem to be a good fit for our family or weren't available during the hours I needed. I had an interview set up for today and the girl never showed. I really need to find a part-time babysitter soon so I can resume normal life with my husband and work a few hours a week. Any ideas are welcome. Thanks guys!
