Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. Her counselor is not the school counselor. The school counselor is part of the reason we are at this stage. I caught her and the school nurse telling my daughter that she needed to go the the hospital, and she needs to be institutionalized. You do not tell a 16 yr old who has a very low self-esteem, anxiety, and depression this. As of yesterday afternoon we will be taking my daughter to a behavioral treatment facility to be evaluated for several days. This will not happen until Friday or Monday. I hate to do this but I know it is for the best for my daughter. I should not say just for my daughter but for my entire family can start healing. Thank you again.

| Is the counselor your daughters actual one-on-one therapist or a general school counselor? It sounds to me like your daughter is screaming for attention and help, but in her own way. If you call a crisis or suicide hotline, they can give you numbers to organizations that will work with you for free, or a sliding scale. I'm sorry you're on the recieving end of so much of her anger, but speaking from experience, it might be because she feels safe venting to you because you've shown her unconditional love. You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Hey everyone, I have a 16yr old who has MI and is spiraling downward so fast that I can not catch her. My family has been struggling for awhile now to get her the help she needs and we just keep going in circles. We are waiting on a case manager so that she can get admitted somewhere to get help. If we do not get a case manager we have to pay for it out of pocket and they want their $ up front more or less. My daughter not only is "cutting" again but her "friends" are carving on her. We have notified the school, restricted everywhere she is going. She is smoking, lying, crying, screaming at the entire family. Her thought and reasoning processes are so out of bounds that she does not make sense. I am the target of all her anger right now. SHe is writing me threatening suicide letters. Her counselor says "I don't think she will do anything." I am glad she thinks that. Does anyone have any suggestions of how to survive this until she can get the help she needs?
