Pack your own foods and lots of bottled water. If you eat out stop at a farmers market or at the deli of a big grocery store!

Pack bottled water, stay where there is a kitchenette. Visit the local grocery store and stock up on fresh fruit and vegies to snack on.

Since this is related to the topic (hope I don't know a new thread, I'm new here!)how do you handle longwer traveling stints/staying with relatives? It seems my inlaws just like to eat eat eat and I have been doing well and do not want to derail my healthy habits. Any suggestions? We leave 1/12 for Cali and will be there 9 days. . .

We try to stay in places that have a fridge and microwave, if not we work to keep a cooler. We pack our own bread and snacks, bottled water and find a store where we are to get whatever fresh or cold food we need. We don't eat every meal this way, but having our own milk and cereal or lunch items like soup and sandwich helps our waists and our budget.

I eat when I am hungry and stop when I am satisfied. It doesn't matter the food that way. It has worked for relieving my body of 100 pounds. McDonalds, Round Table Pizza, Kentucky Fried Chicken...all kinds of "fast foods" and restaurant foods...Taking snacks helps, too. I have packed almonds and granola as well as Peanut Butter and crackers as I know that I need protein pretty quick when I hit a "0" (physical stomach empty).

My body has shown that for me, a reliable way of getting rid of a lot of extra weight and keeping it off, has been to just eat between hunger and satisfied. Then I don't have to worry about traveling, or fancy dinners, or whatever else.

I don't know if this helps or not! I hope so! :-)

Subway is the best for fast food. Pack a lot of snacks too, apples and other fruit that travels well.

I was just about to suggest packing some healthy snacks to take along. You can also make sandwiches and maybe a salad for yourself to eat for when they are done.

My son is in wrestling so we have a lot of weekend tournaments that last all day. I pack a cooler with healthy food such as fruits, vegs, cheese and water and if we stop for fast food on the way home I get a salad or eat at Subway and get a veggie sub.
