Well today was the last straw. He beat my kid in the head again twice! The first time I gave him a time out and explained to him that he cannot hurt the babies. As soon as he was released from the time out chair he ran right over to my kid and hit him in the head! I picked up my kid and marched straight to the director's office, and told her it happened again. In the mean time my friend who I work with packed up her two kids and left!! The director got the mother out of the aerobics class and asked her to remove her child and explained what happened and has banned the child until his behaviorial problems are solved! Finally I can breathe again, as for my friend she will be back to work. Thanks for the advice

Is there anything that you have found to motivate the child? You said the mom feeds him maybe if he goes so long without disrupting the babies he can get a little treat or something. But also do agree that if the behavior doesn't change that he should not be allowed to come back. She should have to find some other means of childcare for the kid while she is working out.

If the child is so disruptive that he continually hurts others the facility may end up with lawsuits. Other parents aren't going to put up with marks being left on their children by the same child over and over for very long. Other children need to be safe. Perhaps the mother should know that if her child continues she will not be allowed to bring her child to the facility.

Hi, I need some advice. I have a nine month old son and I work part time at a local gym in the Child Watch (where people drop off their child to be watched while they work out) and I take him with me to work. My best friend also works there with me and she brings her 5 month old son. We have a 17 month old boy who comes in with his mother and he throws everything he can get his hands on. Also he grabs the baby's heads, says ball and pulls as hard as he can. I find this very disturbing that he doesn't associate a baby's head with a human being. We've had to pull the mother out of her class twice now, the first time he wouldn't listen and continued to pick up toys and throw them at the babies. We expected the mother to come and discipline him, instead she fed him candy and chips then went back to her class. The next time he hurt our babies and left marks and bruises on their heads. We've tried time outs, telling him no, and getting down on his level to find out what he needs. We do keep a close eye on him, but we have at least 10-20 other children at any given time that also need our attention. We put the babies in the pack and play when we see him coming, but he just throws things at them while they are in there. The mother has complained to our manager (who is on our side, she's seen him inaction) saying were are unqualified and should be able to control him and she doesn't appreciate being interrupted when she is in class. I feel she is taking her frustrations out on us, but she can't control her child and probably needs a break from him!!! I'm considering quiting because I feel it is unsafe with this child in there. Any advice on how to control this child????? Or tips on why he grabs heads and tries to pull them off???? I've never seen, or had a behavioral problem with any other child in my 6 months of working there or in my real life experiences. Help!!!!!!
