Hi I thought I would jump in here me and hubby have been trying for 6 1/2 years. I have pcos and one blocked tube and hubby have low motility. I am starting my first round of clomid this month and I hope that it works. I would like to be under 200lb before I get a bfp but I am going to eat better and workout even when I get pregnant. I dont want any complications
Good luck to all of you, I know it feels like you are all alone but you are not

| OMG! To MrHorton's reply, I thought I was the only woman told that I wouldn't be able to have kids due to PCOS, my doctor told me that I was too young to even be thinking about it...I switched doctors. On a positive note, my mom had pcos (back before all of the new technology) and had 11 miscarriages and stillborns, then finally had myself and my sister after having surgery. TG for modern medicine, that we don't have to have surgery.

| The book Taking Charge of your Fertility really helped me after a year and a miscarriage (and after recommendations 4 of my friends bought the book, charted and got pregnant after trouble- one after invitro and miscarriage). It really helps to learn about your cycle and your body, and gives you the best time. I used it with both my kids. I just got an email yesterday from a friend who has had much trouble and miscarriage and is now pregnant. Good luck to you all.

| I can say this, . . . my number one regret going through my pregnancy is that I didn't take advantage of the TTC to really stick with a diet, . . . I told myself exercise might hurt my odds of ovulating and other things that are really not true, well at least not in most cases, . . . at least not for the amount of exercising I would be doing. When I got pregnant I weighed 235 and the day I checked into the hospital I weighed 285, . . . the crazy thing is, most of that was not WEIGHT from me, but water WEIGHT because I was having blood pressure issues and was borderline pre-eclamptic. . . . the weight came off quickly post baby which confirms that it was not fat I had gained, . . . but, I was not healthy at the end of my pregnancy and put on bedrest, . . . and that is scary! I also have a friend who had her child at 27 weeks and he has suffered brain damage due to being born so early, and I know that I HAVE to take losing weight seriously this time around before I TTC our second child. I know that many women get pre-e etc. no matter what they weigh, but lets face it . . . being overweight doesn't help anyone at any point in their life and certainly doesn't help my odds at a healthy pregnancy. So I am STRIVING to take it more seriously this time around, . . . . and to NOT do what I did last time I was TTC, which sounded SO familiar to what you posted, . . . . allowing myself treats, giving in to cravings, . . . not eating some of my diet foods because of the artificial flavoring . . . . it is HARD and SO hard to be TTC without success, if you are looking for support TTC I can recomend trying Fertility Friend and Taking Charge of Your Fertility (a book) for charting etc. I don't know how into that you might already be doing that stuff too, but it can help with TTC too, HUGS and GOOD LUCK!

I have a major hisoty of infertility.. It took several years to conceive miranda, then of course it works at the worst possible time when I REALLY didn't wanna be pregnant. lol (DH left for Iraq when i was 12 weeks pregnant)
But it all worked out in the end. We JUST got the IUD out on the 14th of last month, so I'm not wondering about pregnancy for quite awhile anyway. lol We just aren't preventing now.. But I'm not worried about it. Funny thing is, I used to hear all the time "you'll get pregnant when it's the worst time, or you forget about"
well, that's what happened. lol It also happened to my bestfriend who just had her first child on the 30th.. after almost 10 years of not preventing, seriously. she was never once pregnant during all that time.
The horrible thing about that is you can't FORGET about wanting a baby that easily. I also remember people saying that to me all the time and me wanting to scream "HOW CAN YOU FORGET ABOUT WANTING A BABY?!!?!!" some people just don't understand. anyone that hasn't had to be disapointed month after month doesn't understand how horrible it is to hear, oh just stop wanting it, and it will happen... :(
Best of luck to you. :)

| My husband and I have decide to start TTC! We have only been trying for 1 month, going on our second. I keep telling myself not to get my hopes up, I know it can take awhile. Right now I am focusing on eating heathly and exercising. I figure all I can do is take care of myself and when the time is right it will happen. I wish all of you the best of luck, you are in my thoughts and prayers.

I have not used birth control for over 4 years now. My oldest son was 9 when I had my daughter(I was infertile for 8 years),then I got pregnant w/my 3rd son when my daughter was only 6 months old.
I would hate talking to other moms when my oldest was around 6 or 7(I had been trying for 5 yrs by then),and they said that it took them like 6 months to concive,I remember thinking that was nothing! The Lord works in mysterious ways :) Hang in there.

I'm in the same boat. Although we've only been trying for five months. I'm sitting here right now cramping and looking at a huge temp drop this morning. My family has a history of reproductive problems so I think I'll be making an appointment in the near future to see whats up.
On another note we have friends that are due to have a baby girl any minute now. Another one is pregnant. Although they had to work for a year to get that baby. It's just hard. If one more friends get knocked up before me I'm going to scream!

Bunny - My wife also has PCOS, so I understand what you're going through (although she probably does moreso.) She was actually told, almost nonchalantly, by her OBGYN that she can't have children, and was even told that, without birth control (or probably similar hormone therapy) that she could become very ill, perhaps even die.
We have never tried to conceive and, after her broken leg, have pretty much decided we never want to, but I assure you that, if we were, we would be here sharing the same stories.

My husband and I have been trying to conceive for a year and a half unsuccessfully and 1 miscarriage. I have PCOS, so I am on birthcontrol pills to lower my testsoterone levels and they are taking FOREVER and a day to get to 40 to do ovulation induction through clomid. Right now my levels are at 54, which they have lowered a lot from 76 back 6 months ago. I am scheduled for a scan and testsoterone test on the 20th of December to (hopefully) put me on clomid over the Christmas break. I completely understand and am here if anyone needs/wants to talk! Babydust and lots of luck to all of you!

Hiya.
My fiance and I decided we would like to have another baby and have been trying for 4-5 weeks now. We already have 2 girls. We are just waiting to get my blood test back next week as I have had some early symptoms but the home pregnancy tests I have done have all been negative so we just have to wait and see. I have had some health issues recently and have been told it might not be possible for me to have another baby.

Alisa - I feel the same way!!! I have a friend that decided for about 30 mins they were going to try to have kids. Then changed their minds, and she is due next month.
Then there's me... trying for 4 years, and nothing!
God does know what is best, and I try to trust Him. There are days I am not so good at that. :)

| I am also ttc and have been for about 4 years. I get so upset when a friend who is not even trying or someone who never wanted kids gets pregnant but i just have to remeber that everything happens for a reason and that things happen in Gods time not ours...:)

ditto to the book that Annie recommended.

oh yeah. the pregnant ladies are everywhere. it is a frustrating monthly roller coaster with the symptoms. (funny how pms and early pregnancy have all the same signs!) i am addicted to pregnancy tests! have you read "taking charge of your fertitlity"? (it's about charting your cycles ie: temps, cervical fluid to determine your fertile days)it has empowered me recently. good luck!

I totally understand what you are feeling! Hubby and I have been TTC for 4 years, and there are times when I am happy and okay with the wya things are, and then there are times that I get so discouraged. (And then another 19 year old girl tells me that she is expecting, and I just want to scream!)
I am sure that eventually it will all work out, but in the meantime, I am here to give sympathy!
Have a great night! Feel better! Jen

My DH and I are TTC - and so every month I go thru the same routine and emotions...including chocolate cravings that I try to say are pregnancy cravings but then lo and behold they aren't but guess what? I gained 2 pounds. I'm just feeling so frustrated and having that whole "why is the whole world pregnant?" feeling!!!!
Just wondering if anyone else is feeling the same and how they are dealing...
