| If you gain a lot of weight during pregnancy, you will just have to get it back off later. All the baby needs is an extra 300 calories a day over what you have to have, so anything more is just adding fat.

I found out I was pregnant the end of Sept. I am currently 13 weeks. I checked out babyfit, but honestly, I just don't think it compares to SP. So I'm back here, right now just for the community, but I may start using the trackers again. I quit once I found out I was pregnant, but I'm actually starting to miss the structure that tracking provides, so I may go back to it soon. And besides, I believe that a healthy pregnancy doesn't always equate to a great deal of weight gain. As long as you work on getting all the nutrients you need in the right amounts, who says you have to gain alot of weight?

I have to agree - BabyFit is awesome for information and support with things concerning pregnancy!! I'm 36 weeks and have been on there since we were trying to conceive and it has been so much help!
But the nutrition and exercise tracking features are so much better here! I haven't been on here and just came back to prepare for losing my baby weight after my doc clears me when the baby is born.
if you're used to Spark, you may want to use BabyFit to find out what your calorie needs are but track everything here. But BabyFit can't be beat for information and support about all things baby!
Good luck to everyone!

I'm almost 7 months pregnant. I used BabyFit for my first pregnancy, and then sparkpeople to lose the weight. With this pregnancy I've been using both, bc there is a lot of good advice and support on BabyFit...but I like the tracking on SparkPeople better. It's been great. With my last pregnancy the doctor would always complain about how much I had gained...with this one I get compliments for how healthy I've been. I'm still jogging at 6.5 months preggers and eating right most of the time. (What's the fun in being pregnant if you can't give in to temptation some of the time?) I just went back into the program and manually changed the calories for how much I should be eating and then changed my goal to the weight I want to be at the end of my pregnancy. So far I've been able to maintain a steady and healthy weight gain.
Good luck. Baby fit is a great resource, especially if this is your first. I learned so much about birthing, breast feeding, etc. Every little thing that you never wanted to know (but needed to) is on there. Especially on the community boards. You can ask just about anything and get a good answer.

Congratulations on your great news! You should check out our sister site www.BabyFit.com
It's a great site designed for expecting moms to stay healthy and on track through out their pregnancy and post pregnancy. It's also a free site like SparkPeople!
Good luck with your pregnancy! Kelly
