| Tell him to hang in there. I just transferred too, and I am in the same boat, except I am doing well academically, but I am finding it hard to make friends. Maybe if he starts a study group with some people in his classes? That way his grades will improve and he can make friends, too.

| I have one that is getting ready to go to college. He leaves in about a week. (Quarter System). He has always been a high achiever. AP classes and Principles honor roll (4.0 and above due to AP classes). I know the morals and ethics that I tried to instill in him, but I worry too about him partying while he is away. He had applied to UC San Diego and was a little relieved that he was not accepted ( but don't tell him that) because I read an online comment posted by a student that it is a party school and because of where it is located, there is not a lot of things for the kids to do except party and play video games.

You know, my son (in his fourth year) went though a year like that. He is still watching his qpa climb up, slowly, and I was very frustrated.Your boy with a 3.8 has the skills in there somewhere.
It is not impossible that he has broght the party ethic along with him. I think 19 year old boys do that....I would have been remiss to blame it on the school in our case...

My son is in his second year and transferred from a party school to a school that concentrates on academics. He is miserable. He is failing and unable to make friends. This is something he has never had trouble with. He transfered with a 3.8 and now can't pass a test. Needed to vent I can't live his life just wish I could help. Thanks
