Make rewards for yourselves. Shopping for new clothes with my sister is one of my favorite rewards. Good luck to the both of you.

Hi there.
My 11yo is the only one of my three children who struggles a little with weight issues, and it is really helpful to her when I am on track...especially if I'm shopping right (I often take her) and taking regular walks. Those little things are a way in which we bond, and more than that, if you can ENJOY the process, it sticks I think.
I think a lot about the positive associations the brain develops, and how much of our actions come out of not our conscious efforts, but subconscious. We eat "comfort" food, which is usually unhealthy, because it reminds us of something nice...warm and fuzzy. So especially for kids I think creating healthy warm and fuzzy memories is the key.

Best of everything. I look forward to reading your posts in the future.

Hi there, I am a 39 year old very over weight mom. I have a 10 year old very active daughter who is on her way to becoming over weight if we do not change our eating habits. We are very excited to workout together and to eat healthy foods. Does anyone have suggestions to keep this excited feeling going?
