Sylvan is a good idea. I'll talk to him about it. As far as a learning difference, perhaps. He has an excellent memory. We had him tested and he tested in the top 1% however, he really struggles with gathinging the information around him and coming to a conclusion. For example, the entire class would stand up and line up and Sam would sit there, in his chair, wondering what he should do next. The teacher had him tested then but they couldn't find anything.

Thanks so much for the advice. It is very much appreciated.

Is it possible that your son has a learning difference?

You could hire a tutor.. My firend got to sylvan for help..

My daughter has a learning difference and so she has an IEP... (independent educational plan)...

It is not easy.. does your son do anything that makes him feel good? does he play a sport or draw?

Having a quiet time to study... enough sleep.. eating right..

It is not easy..

My son is entering high school. We've been collecting information from anyone willing to share on how to help him get better grades. He has a wonderful memory but isn't shooting very high with the grades. He's got a 2.6 grade point average leaving Jr. High and I'm worried about him getting into college.

Does anyone have any suggestions for what worked for them, or their kids?

I'd really appreciate knowing.

Thanks
