| It won't hurt her to watch a lot of Dora, but the others are right if at all possible you should get her interested in other stuff as well and set a limit on it. she is your child - NOT the nanny's and you are paying the nanny to care for your children - if you saying X amount of Dora the nanny needs to respect that. Now, I am a nanny and I know how hard it is to keep a 2yr old entertained all day, so I'd definitely allow her some. ;-)

If your sweet daughter were my daughter, I would turn off the tv and go for a hike.. go outside to play in a sandbox... or other activites such as coloring, playing house, etc... playdough.. I do not believe that watching tv all day is a healthy activity... Television does have its place but not as the babysitter..

| You could buy her Dora the Explora coloring books. She will still be connected to her favorite show without having to watch tv all day. I believe coloring is very good for child development.

| I think that with small twins it has to be really hard on you keeping up with all the children. However I think watching that much tv is not healthy, especially for a child so young. Don't beat yourself up over it but I think you should try and cut it back. Maybe tell her that she's allowed to watch x amount of episodes a day and that's it. Make sure the nanny knows this too. Maybe you could find some other activities that would keep her interest while you tend to the other kids/chores/dinner/whatever. Good luck.

| if it was my daughter i wouldn't let her watch it all day. and if you don't feel comfortable with it, then you need to be the parent and put your foot down. if you continue to let her watch it all day long, she's going to get into a habit of it, and the longer it happens the harder it will be to break her. try to give her other things to do to keep her busy. that's what i would do anyways. i let my daughter watch a couple of shows a day. i actually have tivo so i copy them and let her watch it when it is more convenient for me and i need my time.
