I was reading this because I'm a mother and trying to save money. I also read the book and I don't think some of the earlier posters on this topic got what the book means by eating the same meal 2x a day. It dosen't mean if you eat meatloaf for lunch then have it for dinner to. It inplys that you should pick something that you really like for breakfast like oatmeal and just program yourself to get up and eat the oatmeal every morning so that you don't have to think about what you are doing. Then do the same thing with lunch if you eat sandwiches and keep lots of lunch meat around with about all the same cals then it's easier to remember to just get up and eat that sandwich then to stand around all the food in your kitchen and be tempted to eat something because you don't know what you want for lunch. Hope this clears up the difference in what everyone was talking about.

Hey thanks for the advices but i already do that. I start my day at 5:30am. We have a dailey schedule we fallow. We do circle time, crafts and an hour of outdoor play in the morning. Thats when i get to run and play with them. Then come in for lunch and rest time. My favourite time of day rest time for me too. Thats when i play on this thing. lol (if my 9 month old lets me)They get up around 2:30pm 3:00 and we have snack and go outside again for another hour of fun. If we go to paly groups or to the park i always walk with them. I have a total of 6 children that come here. My last children leave at 11:30 pm. So night time is based on going to my children sports activies and homework time. We do lots of reading too. Its a busy day and when my hubby gets home i like to go to the gym. just to have me time. I find it hard to go out at night though cause i am too tired or have cleaning to do or something. Also staying home all day i like to snack and eat the same lunch that the kids eat (if there is anything left over). So i am trying to do shakes for lunch with a veggie instead. How are yous guys doing?

Aloha Dee! I'm a 35 yr old single mom of four; the last two are 2 yr old twins. I too am broke & busy. I just found this site yesterday & didn't think I'd have anything to offer, but it seems I do. One thing I do at home to get some exercise is to just turn on some music, get all the kids up and jump around and dance til we're all tired. (curtains closed of course);0) My 4 yr. old goes to a homecare provider like yourself and she does the same thing. Another thing I do is to take all the kids to the park to play, but instead of driving we all walk. Attitude is everything! Hope this helps!

I'm on a pretty tight budget myself, but I don't think you have to eat the same thing twice a day!!! The biggest thing that helps me both money-wise and calorie-wise are to plan my meals out. I look at the sale flyers and my coupons and plan out all the meals. I also plan for leftovers (whether I have them for lunch or make another dinner with them or whatever). Planning for the leftovers helps keep me from getting seconds because not only will it mess up my diet but it will mess up my future meal plan!

Also, every weekend, I make a big pot of low calorie vegetable soup (tomato-based or chicken/beef broth based, assorted vegetables depend on what's in season and what I'm in the mood for). It's cheap, filling, and quick to heat in the microwave.

I have a 10 month old. And yeah, I'm pretty much broke. But there's no way I could eat the same thing twice in one day. I get too bored with food.
