That... is a most informative post. *chuckles* I will even ignore the gender confusion, it was so helpful. I think I will try some of that. Instead of taking toys, I guess I will not allow the video games until she gets it under control, and give her rewards. I think she'll like it.

Our school is out June 22nd, cause of a lot of snow days. It should be long enough to develop a good habit.

It's almost the end of the school year here. Horray!! I'm ready for summer. Don't know how much time you have left, but might try picking up several items from the dollar store and putting them in a treasure chest box or basket that your son can choose from on days he's been terrific. Could tape a paper to the fridge with big smiles and smiling stickers that when he gets five smiling stickers he gets to pick a reward out of a special envelope. The envelope could hold rewards like eating and playing at mcdonalds, a play at the park, a friend coming over for a play date, trip to the museum, trip to get an icecream.... The good rewards will by far outweight the bad. kids love attention and will strive to do better and make you happy when overwhelmed with the good rewards. Brag on him in front of him as often as possible. Tell a friend or grandma about that day he was great in behavior on the phone while he's sitting nearby and can hear. Good luck to you. It's the end of the year and maybe he's just got the summer wiggles and excitement like we all do. If this is something that last throughout the year, then check into the fact that he may be bored and need more stimulation at school. Maybe the school can offer something to keep him busy like reading to younger kids, doing extra fun math puzzles during his free time, anything that may be challenging and make him stand out as being very smart. Don't let him see it as extra work because he's bad, but additional challenges because he's much smarter than the others. Huggs to you:)

I keep receiving notes from the teacher, that she is goofing off during work time, and not finishing her work, and worse still, distracting other children. I have decided to take a toy away from her each day she does this, let's see if it works. I should also think of a reward system for the opposite behavior. Any suggestions?
