You should all do the same things. If you are all eating healthy, wholesome food then you should all be having normal portions. Each person gets the serving size he/she needs.

I agree with the small plate idea.

PS - I'd probably use the smaller plate approach for the one who doesn't have to lose weight as well. It's part of being a family and not standing out.

I would do what you need to do for the 3 of you that have to loose weight and teach your other child how to eat healthy (food variety, normal portion sizes, etc.)

Eating healthy doesn't have to be a sacrifice for anyone. Use smart portion sizes and choose ingredients for recipes that are good for you. For example, swap out white pasta for Whole Wheat pasta in your spagetti.

The recipe section offers so many great meal ideas that the whole family can enjoy. I'm not sure what ages your children are but get them involved in helping you cook. My four year old tend to eat new things if she's involved in helping me make the meal. (I haven't been as lucky with the three year old...but I'll pick my battles with that one!!)

A great website for children's nutrition is www.kidshealth.org

Hang in there!

Is it 2 adults and 1 child trying to lose weight? I would think that depending on how slim that child is that he/she should eat what you guys eat too, except maybe more. Or 2% milk for the slim child and skim for everyone else. But the healthy habits you practice would be good for the slim child too.

What do you do when you have 3 people in the home that needs to loose weight, but not a 4th person. We are all slightly chuncky or getting past that. But I have 1 child who is slim. What we are doing right now is using the smaller plates (the one with the dividers in them)And the normal child gets to use the bigger plate. Any other suggestions?
