My kids want to eat all day :(

I know that healthy food is expensive... but, in the grand scheme of things, it will be cheaper than the medical costs of what can happen later in life from eating unhealthy foods...

I think perspective is needed... YOu are giving your children a gift... of teaching them how to eat healthy...

with regards to what they are doing right now... kids sometimes eat huge amounts right before a growth spurt...
also, make certain that they are occupied with something fun to do.. spring break can be a struggle for many families...

Your doing a great job...

I have already pulled all the unhealthy food, but my youngest (3) will just grab food all day, like yesterday ate 6 apples (core and all on 1 of them, oops), 3 string cheeses, 3 yogurts, a ham sandwich, chicken strips, mac and cheese, a bag of baked cheetos....and that was all after breakfast...SO...Today im trying to make a chart of the food pyramid with how many servings each child gets of each part. They can mark them off, so when they eat all of the fruit for the day they know they have to move on to another category etc...but they are breaking me. Healthy food is expensive!

Have a cupboard or drawer with healthy snacks in them that the kids can just grab and go for themselves, at least if they are snacking all day, it'll be nutritious.

Or are they eating out of bordom? See if you need to find them something fun to do and work on to keep their mind off of eating.

Are they hungry, thirsty or bored? How old are they and are they going through a growth spurt? Do you have reason to worry about their weight? what sort of thing are they haveing to snack on. If your worry is that they are eating too many crisps for example, if crisps are not in the house they can't eat them. i used to think my kids wanted to eat all the time until I watchem play and realised how much exercise they were getting.
