I'm okay about eating but its the exercise that I'm really bad with, just plain lazy sometimes. I used to beat myself up really badly about it, putting myself down and so forth. I know realize that the changes I want to make are not short- term but ones that will take time. Sometimes we all "slip up" but it's okay and we need to make a strong effort the following day. Forget about the day at night, it's over and we cant change it. Good luck and stay motivated!

Honestly, I shock myself back into the process. I wait until the next morning and I get on the scales. Seeing that I didn't make progress OR that I went backward shocks me into getting back on track. I feel I have put too much effort into getting where I am to "blow it". Granted, I have only lost 12.5lbs so far, but I did so over 7 weeks. I don't want to lose my progress to short term discretion.

Hope this helps,
RZ

I know that there will be days when I eat too much. The next day I just go back to my plan and I will eat at the low end of my calories for a day or two to make up for it.

One slip up day doesn't equal total failure, you will only get there by still trying and learning more about yourself and why you commit diet sabotage.

When you experience a setback, like overeating at a meal or not getting in your exercise, how do you manage to pick yourself up and get back on the proverbial horse? What tricks do you use to motivate yourself?
