Hiya. Homeschooling is a wonderful option, but I suppose you need a starting point for information. Well, each state is different in their requirements and I do know that California varies by district also... but it is legal in every state. So for legal issues and how to handle the schools I would find a local or state homeschool group. You should be able to get started at hslda.org. This is the homeschool legal defense association. They have all the state laws there, which sometimes sound way more overwhelming or confusing than they really are. Plus they have links to homeschool groups. I would go that route first.
As for the homeschooling, it has been a blessing for our family. I was a former teacher and hubby still is, but we firmly believe in the benefits of homeschooling. Our children flourish and we love spending the time with them. Please sparkmail me if you want to talk.
