Sounds like here. I have four kids and I know were you are coming from. Like you said though excuses. It can be done. You just have to push yourself to do it. I know when I do I feel much better after working out.

I know a little of what you mean. But at least my husband is home.

Do you get out for lunch? I meet a freind at the local mall to grab lunch (they have subway and a few other good food eats) and then walk laps for the rest of our hour. I also work in a small office and usually by myself. I do some of the strength exercises (like dips on chair, wall push ups, standing leg abductors, squats, lunges), or 2 minutes of jumping jacks, step ups on a sturdy box, at the old office I walked laps around the office. If you have stairs take those, or run up and down them for 5 minutes.
I think there is an article in the Resource Center under fitness that gives ideas for a desk workout.

When the weather gets better try to take the kids out for walking or running chasing each other. I took mine sledding the other night (we have a large hill in the back yard) and turned the back light on and I found in 15 minutes I burned 95 calories. (per my HRM)

Even 10 minutes is better than 0.

I'm still trying to transition into doing this and had success but then went on vacation and gained back what I lost. At least it wasn't any more, I'm happy about that. But I'm still having trouble fitting in exercise. I have 2 kids under the age of 5 and my husband travels for work so when I get home it is usually crazy getting everyone settled and then dinner and then a bath and playing and hearing about their day and so on and so on. It can get overwhelming at times. Then its bed time and and they go into daughters room and watch a movie but then comes the wanting another hug or questions, just plain old procrastination on their parts to let themselves go to bed. So I find I can't do for me until after 9pm and by then I'm beat.

We still have sleeping through the night issues with the youngest so getting up any earlier than 5:30 is harsh.

It's all a bunch of excuses and I know I can do it but I'm looking for experience from someone else. A been there done that scenerio. Just a pep talk.

So lets hear it!

Thanks,

Jamee
