I was going to also suggest talking or home work, but that wouldn't apply either. I find I eat slower when I eat at work at my desk, cause I am also surfing the net while eating.

I'd love to give her that excuse, but I homeschool!! I give them plenty of time to eat. Getting her talking is a good idea, though. A lot of times DS is last to finish because he chatters all during the meal. Thanks for the idea!

Can you get her talking while eating? How long does she have to eat lunch at school? I know I started eating very, very quickly when I only had about 35 minutes to make it from class to my locker to lunch back to the locker and back to class. There wasn't much time to mess around and 20 some years later the habit still has me finishing meals before everyone else.

| I have 2 great kids. DS is a super slow eater, DD scarfs her food down. I don't want to nag, but would like to encourage a slower eating pace. I've been making a conscious effort to eat my own meals slowly, but she doesn't seem to be catching on. Any suggestions on how to correct this unhealthy eating without nagging or embarassing her?(she's 11 it's very easy to embarass her)
