I have to agree that seeing and feeling how your clothes feel proves more than the numbers on the scale.

Wow Georgetta,
You are doing a wonderful job in getting healthy! I weigh in once a week but I also do my body measurments once a month.
I get more satisfaction seeing the inches disappear then seeing the weighing scale go down.

I do once a week and try to pay attention to my clothes and how I feel.
I do notice if I do weigh in and weight is down I think I can chest which in the end hurts me at my weeks weigh in.

Hi Dina and welcome to SparkPeople!
Try not to get overly obsessed with the scale. That "magic" number should not be your focus. Instead, pay attention to your clothes and how they are fitting. Be consistant with your healthy food choices and your fitness routine and you will see the results on and off the scale. If you must, it's best to weigh yourself once a week and if you can do it at the same time each week that's good too. There are some great articles in the Resource Center about this very subject so if you have a chacne, be sure to check them out!
Good luck reaching your goals and let me know if you have any questions along the way!

| I weigh daily, sometimes several times per day. The reason I do this is to see the daily fluctuations in my weight and be able to see when I have had a good day or bad day in terms of weight loss, and be able to pinpoint certain foods or activities that add or remove weight. Of course you can't do this right away, but after a while you start to notice patterns. I've heard that It's better not to weigh but once per week, but this motivates me!

| As much as I try NOT to weigh myself everyday; I do end up doing so. ... in the morning just before I shower. Though I use Sunday morning as my actual weigh in day when I attend weight watchers.

| I use to weigh my self all the time throughout the day. I found that I was driving myself crazy! So now I stick to once a week. I do it first thing the morning w/ no clothes on.

| I weigh myself every morning because I feel like I can stop a pound or two gain a lot easier than I can five or more...I catch it better that way. But I think the "correct" answer is once a week. I do my "official" weigh in at the same time on the same day every week.

| I have a tendency of constantly weighing myself once I begin to diet. How long after you begin dieting should you wait to weigh yourself? Once a week? Twice a week?
