HI Valerie,

Congratulations - your son is adorable! As previously mentioned from other posters, you are certainly not alone. Becoming a mom is such a blessing and in the same breath it really can pull the rug out from under your world as well.
I know you mentioned feeling as though you don't have the energy for much. While it sounds a little ironic, the more fitness you can squeeze in a day, the more energy you will find in time.
I think the best advice that I could share with you is to simply plan your days out in advance. Buy a pad of paper and write your goals down for each day. What ever they may be (clean bedroom, fold laundry, snuggle with son). Scratch your tasks off along the way - it's rewarding to see any goal accomplished. And being organized can add sanity to any new mom and household!
Start small and be consistant. 10 minutes a day for a week or two of just walking can add up to positive results. Use the food tracker to simply track everything you are putting in your system. You may find ways (in your diet alone) where you can make improvements and adjustments.

You are only one person so remember that rome wasn't built in a day! Hang in there and enjoy that beautiful child of yours. When you look back on his first year of life, you won't remember if the bathroom was clean but you will remember snuggling with him while you had the chance!

Let me know if you have any questions along the way! Take care,

Kelly

I wouldn't beat myself up if I was you. Like the other poster, your body is still changing. If you are concerned about the tiredness, see your family doctor.

Regarding your house...you will have to learn to let some of the little things go or you will nuts! To me, if my bathroom (which is a priority to me) and kitchen are clean and the rest of the house is messy I'm okay with that.

I read a suggestion by someone that said, set a timer for 5 minutes and do as much as you can in one room for that five minutes. You'd be surprised at how much you can get done. Also, during those 2 naps make sure you take time for yourself, exercise, take a bubble bath, read a magazine, etc. You will feel better if you get a chance to unwind for a few minutes each day.

Do you have an exersaucer for your baby? My dd loved hers and would watch me clean (and play with her toys on the tray). So I got an extra 20-30 minutes each day to clean or get supper ready with this.

Your not alone, all moms have been where you are!

Hi! Some of your tiredness is inevitable. Having a child changes so many things in your body including hormone levels, etc. But don't give up. Losing weight will help. Eating right will help. And exercise will help.

On your sparkpage I saw that you have a great tool in your arsenal- a sling. Take that baby around with you as you go about your day. I found walking was great exercise. In this weather, walking outdoors may not be an option... I used to go to the mall and walk either with the sling or with a stroller for a mile or so a day. I found just doing that bit of activity helped my energy level.

As for housework, I can give you no advice. I am terrible with it and always have been. I use flylady to help me stay on track. I would try to de-clutter and simplify things as much as possible. And also learn to allow yourself some slack. The house does not need to be perfect... your relationships are more important, your health is more important, and you need time to cuddle and play and rest. But you also deserve a peaceful haven... and so try and keep things simple. See, I actually did have advice... now if I could just follow it.

Being a mom is the most wonderful blessing ever, but it is exhausting and draining at times. Hang in there and enjoy all the wonderful moments. They grow so fast.

Hi everyone my name is Valerie and I have a 8.5 month old baby. He is not crwaling but all day he wants to hold onto my hands and walk. he naps for 45min in the morning and 1 hour in the afternoon. I am finding it hard to keep my house in decent condition, cook dinner and feel motivated to work out. I had a very hard labour and had a blood transfusion. After that I have never had any energy. I used to be on the go and non stop now I can't seem to get myself going. Any suggestions....

thank you all
Val
