Hey KEPOLAZ!
Thanks for the advice. I use my crock pot. Actually between my crock pot and tupperware dishes for the microwave( I can cook boneless, skinless chicken, rice and veggies (brocolli & carrots) in the microwavew in like 15 minutes - tastes great!), I probably only use my stove for Sunday dinners unless I am off one day during the week. I don't know how people in general manage without a crock pot. They are a life saver. As far as the weekends go - I get all of my dinner stuff and kids lunch snacks ready on Sunday evenings. I put all of my lunch snakcs in little ziplock bags and they are in a bowl in the cupboard so all that has to be done is to open the bowl and pick what snakcs the kids are getting. The 15 minutes worth of preparation on Sundays probably save 1/2 hour to an hour during the week. It's great! At least on Sunday once I have that finished I feel like I am ahead a little bit.
This time of year (Christmas time) is even that much busier. Trying to find the time to get your decorating done, all your holiday baking and shopping too! What you are crazy? Well, a group friends and family do a cookie exchange so we also have anywhere from 7 - 15 dozens of different cookies from that - so that saves all the holiday baking being the same.
As far as going on strike - Are Moms allowed to go on strike? If so man am I ever on STRIKE for about 1 week.
Anyway, thanks for listening, it really helps.
Have a good day and an even better day tomorrow.

Girl, you need to schedule more you time, ease your way into it, just like working out. You have to plan it, if you cook - use a Crockpot so you're not worrying about the dinner too. Get as many things ready on the weekend for the week. Get those kids to help out more. Since hubby is self employed, get him to be more organized in the paperwork part so your part is easier when you get home from a full time job, and then another full time job....
Oh I know about not enough time in the day, and the endless paperwork that seems to come from nowhere, and sometimes, I come home and look around the house, feel like screaming cause everything is out of place, then I the dishes, leave the dinner, leave the clothes in the middle of the living room, leave the overflowing trash can and I head to my solace for 15 minutes.... more if I can.
Maybe next week I'll go on strike :)

Hey there!
I'm glad I'm not the only one who has the little goodie basket in their room. I have a basket in my bedroom but I do not get enough to use any of the things in it.
I'm really trying!!
With my husband being self employed there is aslo the little bit of paperwork for the business that needs to get done for eth next business day too!
Somedays are good days and you seem to get alot done, and other days are are crappy days that you don't get anything done!
Hope there are more good days for everone then there are crappy days!
Good luck!

Just don't forget to get in some me-time whenever possible. I have an area in my room that has a basket of Goodies - candles, my journal, my favoite colored pens, some music. I take 30 minutes when I can to lock myself in the room, and enjoy some me-time. It's a must to re-juvenate the soul. If you can get in only 15 minutes in a nice warm bathtub with candles, and soft music, just do it. Explain to your family that you need some time too yourself.
We moms do so much everyday for everyone. You need to remember that your time to yourself is just as important for your overall mind and well being.

Yikes - Feeling like there isn't enough time in a day can take a toll on a person for sure. I know with the holidays here any bit of extra money helps. Have you thought of not doing your extra job once the holidays have passed so that you can have some downtime to regroup for yourself and your family? Hang in there and try to take each day as it comes.

Between my husband & 1 we have 3 boys (18months(my husband's & I) and a 9yr old step son (lives with us) and a 16 yr old (who also lives with us), we have two wonderful dogs who we wouldn't be without and my husband is self employed. I work 9 - 5 out of teh house and I also do work at home in the evenings. Sometimes the work at home is very busy (3 or hours a night) and sometimes it is only a few hours a week.
The extra work seems to cause more then its share of problems but that little bit of extra money certaintly helped when we needed it.
My husbnand gets a little frustrated when I say I am tired after working during teh day, coming home getting supper, going to pickup the work at home and then coming home getting the youngest into the bath and into bed and then I sit down to do my work at home. Then I finally get to bad after finshing all that then I try and exercise before I g o to bed, if not I get earlier in the morning to get the exercise in. Somedasy are better tehn others.
But as long as I remember why I am exercising when ever I can, and also why we do all the work we can so the kids will have everything they need. It is expensive having three boys.
Anyone else live in a situation like this?
