mayasmama, i think you are talking about babyfit.com

that's an excellent site! i used it for my 3rd pregnancy and thank God it helped me to stay right on track in terms of weight and working out etc.

i had a question for you moms out there...my husband is extremely, extremely bothered by the weight i have put on throughout my pregnancies. i have been trying to get rid of the extra pounds, but right now it is very difficult for me. i work out regularly, but my diet is the main problem. and when things get chaaotic around me, my eating tends to follow unfortunately. it sound so stupid to even say this, bcs its like "ok, just STOP EATING! duuuuuuh" ... but really its about changing habits, keepnig myself a priority, having willpower, etc etc. alll of which are very difficult for me while taking care of my children, husband, home, etc. im sure these all sound like excuses. im sick of myself.

ok, i just needed to vent...

Hello Moms out there!
I am actually 7 months pregnant with my second child. I know that sparkpeople has a separate website for expectant moms but for the life of me i could not remember what it was (babyweekly.com??). Can anyone tell me? I currently weigh 184 lbs (yikes) and have 12 more weeks to go (sigh). I actually joined sparkpeople back in june or july and then after a few weeks I found out I was pregnant (!). I'm trying to reconnect back to the sparkpeople community but at the same time I know the expectant moms website might be more relevant.

Talk to you all after I give birth in March 2007. Have a happy and healthy New Year!

I lost most of my baby weight with delivery, but I have 35 pounds to lose from my first two pregnancies. I have a 6-week old and a 22-month old that keep me pretty busy and tired and sometimes ragged. The holiday cookies and candies have been my downfall. Having a supportive husband definitely helps because he watches the boys so I can workout.

Hi Everyone -
I'm new here with a three-month old girl named Zoe and 40 pounds to lose (I've lost 25+ of the 40 gained, but have some extra weight to take off, too). It's great to see the success each of you is having because it offers some inspiration when even making it to the next feeding seems like a huge hurdle.

I have about 30 lbs to lose as well, weight I gained when I was pregnant with my daughter who is now 17months old. I gained about 35 total, but had gained about 10 lbs before getting pregnant (after I got married.) Making time for yourself, and scheduling it, is how I have to work as well. I'm trying to make a habit now!

I think consistency and making your workout and nutrition a priority really helps. I have 3 kids - all boys. The oldest is 15 1/2 and the youngest 18 months. It really is a struggle when you get older to lose the baby weight. A lot of it then revolves around nutrition. I exercise 6 days a week but if I don't pay strict attention to what I am eating and when, then the weight lose just stops.
Making time for yourself to exercise and eat right in the end makes you a happier, healthier person and that will only benefit your new babies :)

I am also really, really struggling with losing pregnancy weight. I have 3 children, ages 5 and under! I am the type of person who eats more when things are chaotic...so you can just imagine why losing weight is even more difficult for me with my little rugrats lol

My personality is also such that if I have a schedule and routine (aka an "organized" day), then I find that I will get my workout in and eat much better. I know what to expect throughout the day and I can "plan" (I love that word lol) Anyway, I'm learning that I should "plan" and know what i want to accomplish and have the children's routine go according to that...instead of the other way around, with me trying to squeeze in what I want to do around what the children LET me do :(

Basically, it boils down to this -- I'm learning that I need to keep MYSELF a priority!

Good luck, ladies :)

Hi Ladies,

The Fitness Resource Center has so many great articles and tips specifically for new moms as well as for mothers who are looking for fitness ideas and tips to do with their Children/families at home.

If you have a few minutes try to browse the exercises listed there. You would be surprised how effective they can be and all you need is a little space on your living room floor.

I remember how overwhelming, time consuming and exhausting a new child can be on our days and spirits. Try to take at least 15 minutes a day for yourselves to regroup and "pamper" yourself. Whether it is to exercise, sit in a still room or listen to some music...it's so important to make time for yourself a priority when you can.

Take each day as it comes. I found that planning my day out ahead of time allowed me to find space in the day to fit little work outs in here and there. Being consistent really is the key.

Enjoy your angels. That age is priceless!

You and I have a similar story -- I too gained 50plus lbs and my daughter is just about 9 months now. We have so much in common - our child -- the Melaleuca business we should trade notes sometime :)

Hi! I am also a newbie. I have a 9 month old baby girl and she is just now getting active, crawling everywhere! I still have about 9 lbs to go. I ended up gaining 52 lbs and I am glad I lost most of it but these last few lbs are soo annoying! My pants just don't fit the same. I still have baby flab on my belly. I find it difficult to exercise. I get into these kicks and then, something happens and I stop. All I can say is hang in there. DO you have a supportive husband/partner? My hubby is very supportive and tries to help me out when I feel "fat". He pretty much eats what I cook. At this point, it's simply exercise for me. I generally eat healthy but am not consistently active. It's also going to be hard now that winter is coming, I live in Michigan, not a great place to "get out and exercise" year round! I have a few workout videos. My daughter goes to bed at 6pm so I am able to exercise then. Good luck to you and get us posted! Oh, congrats on your baby boy! Isn't life soo much more meaningful now?

Hi All..I am a first time mom with a wonderful 6 month old baby boy. He is amazing. However, since he isn't all that active yet, I am still needing to loose some of the weight i gained while I was pregnant. I am looking to drop another 20-30 lbs. I need to say on track and focus, but it is hard. It seems like when I do get a chance to chill out, cooking a healthy meal is the last thing on my mind! I need advice and or tips from others who were in my situation!
