KathyMay,
I know what you mean about Thanksgiving and being afraid your going to pig out and ruin your diet.
I'll be having three thanksgiving dinners in a row. My grandmother has hers around noon, then my mother-in-law has hers that evening, and my mom has hers the day after thanksgiving so I'm really going to have to be careful and as if thanksgiving dinner isn't bad enough we also have Christmas coming up next month plus on the 21st of December is my daughter's birthday and I'm going to have her a party. I plan to eat until I'm full and then stop. I know I'll probably eat some sweets but I can exercise and burn off the extra calories by running after my daugher and by cleaning the house.

Well- this probably isn't what you want to hear- but this is how I look at it. Its only one day so enjoy yourself.
Here is what I try and do- get up early and go for a nice hour long walk with my family. Then we eat a really healthy breakfast- maybe whole wheat bagels and fresh fruit and lowfat yogurt. Then eat reasonably at dinner. Have a little of what you want and stop when you are satisfied.
After dinner go for another long walk. But then get right back on track tomorrow. The hard part for me is not having that same Thanksgiving dinner every day for a week!
Have fun, enjoy yourself and then get right back on track.
Good luck and remember, its only one day!
Happy Thanksgiving!
