I have been MIA for 2 days. Daughter and her hubby and 9 of their children were here to visit and go to the beach. I had my birthday party. Now officially 71. New pic was taken with my makeshift cakes as were too busy to bake. Strawberry cake is what I have each year. My request. Had a good time. Really quiet here this morning.
I will be here more now.
Betts - I hope you hang in and play with me.

Ok - I understand the sad thing but those ladies would cheer a dead dog !!  They so appreciate the advice of someone who has been there done that ! I feel I contribute little but they want me there and my daughter said she hopes you come in. Some of the marriages in there are not all that happy. Some are. We are trying to help those who want help and many said we have changed their lives completely. Sorta like watching a soap.
If you do not want to go there. I understand but will miss a lot of fun. Truth is after hearing their stories, I am glad mine are grown !! kids these days can be a terrible bunch. Can be good too but mostly sulky and all about ME group.

OMG, 14 children???? Good that the grands like to 'take care of you'!! I know you just can't wait to move into your new modular home! Thanks for the invite to the other group, but I am a 2 time widow and I always get sad when ladies speak of their husbands and kids & grands! Gosh, it sure would be nice to have someone to talk to besides my little deaf dog. LOL All of my family work and there isn't much visiting in the 'big city'. I live in a suburb adjoining north Dallas (TX). I have a small 3 bedroom house that I just love. It is so peaceful and quiet (most of the time). My doctors, dentist, hospital, shopping all within a 10 mile radius of my home! I don't use much gasoline, and don't cause a lot of pollution by driving a lot. A tank of gas lasts a month or so, unless I go to one of my sons' houses for a visit. Well, I gotta get busy .....

Good morning. I am up and running today. My daughter has 14 children. Nine still at home and her and her hubby and kids are coming to stay a couple of days. Will be here tonight. We are excited. Always have a great time with them. The kids are well behaved and take care of me so I love it.
We are getting a new Modular home and the pic I have up is the lot after it was cleared. View will be outside my kitchen window. We are excited. Have only lived here in NC one year and love the beach atmosphere. Have not donned a little polka dot bikini yet !!
Come on into Loving our husbands (and children too!!) We have a lot of fun in there. That is where I cause the most trouble. Come on in and help me spread the sunshine to thoseYOUNGSTERS !!

Hi Betty and welcome to the thread. I would also like to invite you to join the other thread I am on. My daughter started it and I joined in. I have children all grown too. They have 2 grandmas in there already but would love to have one more. We have a good time in there and I am the one that is always in trouble .  I give them a real hard time. They appreciate the advice of the older ladies in there. I am the oldest. Join in if you wish. It is Loving our husbands and children too.

Betts- if you're michevious too then you two will get along great!! I'm tring to get grandmaB in here. We've lost the how to in order to get here. I sent her the link but don't know if that's going to work. It's been awhile since this thread first opened and forgot where it opened at. Be patient, she riding that bike of hers as fast as she can and will be here soon!!! 
She's done great at this diet. Lost the most weight out of our little group, so she'll be a great weight loss buddy to encourage you on your way!!

grandmaB sounds like me because I am mischevious too! I don't come to the message boards frequently. I have belonged to the south beach site since it first started. Had a great buddy who was my age, and we had a good personal relationship. She came here one summer for her grandson's performance and we met for lunch. She fell and hurt her shoulder and we communicated about life in general. We both got off the diet, and just sort of lost interest. I think it really helps to have a support buddy. See ya soon!

Betts- hey, grandmaB- started this thread and I'm sure she will be in here soon to greet you! She's the most wonderful lady in the whole world. I know her from another thread and she's terrific. I've kind of adopted her as my own:) Ha Ha!! I just dropped in here to see what kind of trouble she's at now. ha Ha!! Stick around and I'm sure she'll introduce herself soon!! Someone from another list told me about this group. I am 71, took early retirement after 28 years with a large well known company. Then worked for another company for 6 years. I am a widow with 3 grown children, 8 grands and 3 great grands. I have done some sort of handcraft 95% of my life. I sell a few items on Ebay too. I like to keep my hands busy at night with some type of handwork. I have a 16 year old black poodle, Dolly, who has gone deaf. More later.

Couldn't help peeking in when I say who's name was on this group! Face it grandmaB, you don't look over 70 or act like over 70! Infact most people over 70 probably don't own or know how to operate a computer!!!! You might be alone on this one. Like daughter said...Better lower the age group! Believe me, you still probably look and act younger!
For those of you peeking in too and may be in that over 70 group! You really ought to join this lady here. You won't find a sweeter and more fun lady anywhere. I'm a friend from another post and I know. Love you grandmaB!!!!
