No not Military... my husband works for the Federal Governement and they stationed us here in Brazil! Our life is very similar to the military now though... as we do everything through the Us Embassy and that compound!(Comminsary, playground, special events, the Marine Ball etc.) That is another thing I am trying to get use to... living in this environment and I do not mean Brazil... I mean themilitary environment! I was not use to this! It seems everyone knows everything! I think my neighbors will know if I loose weight before I do! As far as taking walks together... nope! One h eis never home and two this is really not a place yu want to just go strolling alone in... I do not live on a base... we are in a regular neighborhood and I do not understand the language or the ways yet! The Embassy is remodeling their gym (which is just one room with a couple of treadmills right now hopefully will be better) and we have not gotten our stuff yet so I do not have my treadmill or any exercise equipment or basically anything yet! It has been ahard 4 months! But hopefully that will be changing! Just received word today that our stuff is in port and just needs to clear customs! Perhaps we will have it by th eend of next week! YEA!!! Thanks for responding!

| Wow does this message board hit ho,e! I hope you are still here at SparkPeople. Perhaps you have already lost your weight! (Yea!) I too am living overseas. This is our first post and we have been here 4 months and the transition has been hard. I have two kids age 3 and 5 and they seem to be adjusting well... it is just me that can't seem to get into a grrove so to speak. I had started to loose my weight before I came here but since it has stopped. We were living in a hotel and then an aartment until our house was ready and I do beleive that was the biggest problem. I want to loose 15 to 20lbs more and it is the hardest!!! Would love to hear how you are managing it all. I have applied for a part time job so that will mean I will have to balance the kids, their schedules (school and extra activities) and my job plus the house and everything else beause like you... I cannot count on my husband because of his crazt schedule. My husband i sgreat and supportive but he is also extremely fit and in shape which hads to my frustration. Okay enough babbling on! I would never normally respond to a post but yours seem to be right on target for me. Best regards!

| Hey there - I am a SAHM of a 21mth old and I am still trying to lose my baby weight. I have lost 40 lbs and would love to lost another 25 so I can be skinnier than before I had my child. I gained 50lbs with my 1st PG and encountered many challanges and stresses including an evacuation for a month when I was 7 mths pg. I am looking to lose 25 lbs but if I lost just 10 I would be thrilled. I am trying to set high goals. I live far away from family and friends and find it challanging to get exercise with a toddler running wild and whose husband has a very inconsitant schedule with long hours. He is very supportive and we are trying to make a lifestyle change to be a healthy family. I just got the WW flex plan info and hope to use that to - although I am having a bit of trouble counting pts. Anyway I am hoping this site can help me get better on track and hopefully lose some lbs.
