YOu and your family are in my prayers. My MIL had breast cancer and much to our sorrow she lost the fight 2 years ago. I agree that you should live everyday to the fullest. My MIL's dr told us "Keep her positive." And that is what we did, she was cracking all the way to the end. You said you are a strong person. That is great but you also need to let it out sometimes. It hurts. BUt it doesn't have to run your life.

My mum also had breast cancer. It was about 15 years ago when I was in college. Mum had a mastectomy and chemotherapy and was greatful she was one of the lucky ones who didn't lose her hair. Mum stayed strong for us and was fortunate to beat her breast cancer.
It is a difficult time but you just need to be there when your mum needs your support or your shoulder. You cannot always be the family stone, just feel how you feel, cry when you need to, laugh a lot and don't dwell on what ifs.
I don't pray but will send her my best wishes and a big hug for you.

Stacey.

Cassidy, I just wanted to let you know that you and your mother are in my prayers. My mother in law had breastcancer a few years ago. I was closer to my mil then my own mother. My best advice to you would be to spend as much family time as possible and always be hopeful. Don't spend your days saying what if. I wish nothing but the best for you and your family.

I'm sorry to hear about your mom, but I know what your are going through. My mother also has breast cancer and it is pretty scary. She is going through Chemo now and is doing pretty well with it. She was in stage 3 and had a radical mastectomy... had 13 lymph nodes removed. The hardest thing for her so far was loosing her hair.

Fortunately there have been a lot of advances in medicine so breast cancer doesn't have to be a death sentance.

The best thing to do is be there for your mother and continue doing things together like you would have before, if not more.

Cassidy,

My mom has breast cancer also and I am having a hard time with it. You see this is the second time. The first time, I was 9 and now I'm in my late 30. I talk about it with my mom and sister, we cry and move on. Sis and I are there for her appt. Once a month we have girls night. We go to diner and casino ect... and for one night we just forget. Just for one night.

My prayers are with your mom and your family. My grandmother had Breast Cancer for a long time and unfortunately passed when I was 11...But I am trying to do anything and everything I can to help in support of research to find this cure...My goal for my weight loss is to do a 5k race in October, the race for the cure for breast cancer...I am trying to turn that part of my life into a positive and hopefully the money will help even if it is just a little bit for the people now getting diagnosed...I know a cure will come soon. I am sorry that you are going through this, I am here for you if you need a friend to talk to...

Cassidy,
I'm so sorry to hear about your mother. My mom had breast cancer about 11 years ago. I was a senior in High School at the time. She underwent a radical mastectomy (sp?), chemo, and radiation. I know exactly the feelings you are going through. I've been there too. I had to be the strong one for my mom and dad, who didn't deal well at all with it. He kind of shut down. Anyway, I'm here if you need to talk.

It is very hard for me to not be in control and I hate it. Sorry so long.
