That's great that your son got to ride a horse. Did you get pictures? I always forget to take my camera for things like that.

Hi again! Horses are wonderful creatures - I have owned horses for 30 years now. Great therapy animal. Where do you live? There are many stables that allow kids to come in and brush the horses and feed them.

I think it gets harder and harder each year to try to find some kind of summer fun to do with the kids that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. I have 5 girls and it can get very expensive. Then there are all the school fees and supplies! My kids were fortunate enough to ride an elephant - pretty funny but a zoo close to where my parents live had an elephant that they would allow you to ride. They really enjoyed it. I have asked my kids the best part of summer and they have always said just staying home and spending time with mom and dad. Hope that's true! Not sure how old your kids are but something that is fun that I do with my 2 younger girls is I take them camping - bot out in the wilderness in a tent - but in the livingroom. I get chairs and drape them with sheets to make a tent. Then we put our sleeping bags in and get the flashlights ready. I make sure not to turn on any lights - we pop popcorn and tell scary stories by flashlight. I t has always been a fun time!

WELL, SCHOOL WILL BE STARTING BACK NEXT WEEK AND I FEEL LIKE I'VE SPENT SO LITTLE TIME WITH MY BOYS. WITH EXPENSES SO TIGHT AROUND HERE, I'M JUST THANKFUL FOR THE FEW THINGS WE DID DO THIS SUMMER. MY OLDEST SON HAD BEEN WANTING TO GET TO RIDE AN ANIMAL, NAMELY A HORSE AND AND ELEPHANT. WEELLL, WE'RE HALFWAY THERE. HE GOT TO RIDE A HORSE LAST WEEK. TALKING ABOUT THE SMILE THAT WAS PASTED ON HIS FACE FOR THE REST OF THE DAY. I FOUND THAT I WAS GRINNING JUST AS HARD BECAUSE HE WAS SO HAPPY. THAT WAS A VERY GOOD DAY FOR US BOTH. MY YOUNGEST SON WAS TOO SCARED TO GET ON BUT HE ACTED LIKE A HORSE THE REST OF THE DAY. HE WAS SATISFIED JUST LOOKING AT IT. HORSES ARE SO BEAUTIFUL AND MAJESTIC.
