I have the "skinny" jeans, I have this awesome halter top I wore before the turn of the century and a bunch of suits that look brand new, you know why...I haven't worn then in over 5 years! My reward is a "old" new waredrobe when I get to my first goal..and then a "New" new waredrobe when I reach my second goal.

I have bags of pre-pregnancy clothes that I've been holding on to for months now. I feel like I will get back in them one day. . .it just seems so far off.

I have a couple pairs of skinny jeans that I hang onto waiting for the day that they will fit again. Sometimes they inspire me to work harder and sometimes they discourage me because I am still a long way off.

| I still have my jeans from before my son was born..they are only two sizes too small, but in my head they still fit..thats part of the problem.....I don't see myself the same as the mirror does...in my head, i AM a size 9! I know thats why I have trouble losing, because in my head I still see the old me!! how sad is that!
|

|
|
| very much so. I hold out the hope that I will fit into them before labor day weekend. Actually I have a skinny "drawer" - clothes that I absolutely love but haven't been able to get into. As I lose weight, I am moving pieces from that skinny drawer into my regular wardrobe. That makes me feel good.

Bought a new pair of skinny jeans, as I threw my old ones out thinking I wouldn't be able to get into them ever again! Feels good!

| Yes I still have a few pairs that I can't wait to get into. I got rid of most of them because they were a 0 or 3.. Yah that will never happen again..lol

| I think every woman has their "skinny" jeans!!! I just want to go back to when that meant those jeans were for regular days and my "fat" jeans were for girl problem days!!!!

Oh yes!
I have two storage containers full of them. I've been on the diet rollercoaster many times.
I always give away my big clothes or eBay them.

| I still held on to a couple pairs of my skinny jeans. Hubby tried to get me to give them away, but I'm glad I kept them. It's a motivator to look at them - they're proof that I CAN be thin if I want it badly enough.

| Yes! I have a hard time parting with jeans.

I saved one pair of size 8 jeans from about four years ago. They are hanging next to my treadmill. I remember how excited I was when I first got to buy them and hope to recreate the memory one day soon

Oh! Crumbs yeah! I put on some, well what I thought were my "skinny" jeans and well they just did not fit. A distressing call to my husband and finding this site will hopefully fix everything!!

| Well, mine are skinny shorts from when I was a teenager. Maybe one day again. . . .

I got rid of all my skinny clothes except for a couple of sexy low rise boot cut size 4 jeans. :-) Yesterday I put them on *and* buttoned them. Woohoo! Still to tight to wear -- or breathe! But hey they are fastened. I never thought I'd get back to that pre-baby, pre-heart problem size. ;-)
I figure that after all my hard work, I deserve a new much more modern and stylish wardrobe. LOL! As long as I hit Victoria's Secret my dh is all for it. ;-)

I still have and will wear all of my skinny clothes someday soon. But I'm going go out and have fun all kinds of new stuff when I get there just to add to the excitement.

| I have all my old "Skinny jeans" :) I bought a whole new woredrobe when I lost a lot of weight a couple of years ago, but still kept my "not skinny jeans" at the same time. Now my "skinny jeans" stay in the closet and my "not skinny jeans" are in the washing machine. I am too stubborn to buy more clothes so I am determined to lose the weight and wear the clothes I have :)

| I wish I would have kept a pair from college so I could compare my size now. I swear sizes have changed in the clothing industry.

| I agree with Mama I know you shouldn't keep them around because it's like an excuse to gain the weight back but from my poit of view if I get rid of them and gain some weight back I don't have the money to be out there buying new clothes again just because I let my self get fat.

Yes, I still have everything from when I was a size 16 (my smallest adult size) all the way up to where I am now. My family has been nagging me for years to get rid of that stuff. I've given away a few items to friends and family that could wear them, but still have most of them. I do plan on getting rid of the bigger stuff as I go down, but 2 sizes back. That is, when I'm a 28, I'll get rid of the 32s, when I'm a 26, I'll get rid of the 30s and so on. I was hoping the smaller sizes would be a motivation, but obviously they haven't. DH has had only 2 sizes since we married 15 yrs. ago. When he goes into the larger, he ups the exercise and cuts back on eating until he drops back to the smaller one. I hope to get to that point with a closet full of size 12s and 14s. Then I will be the size I was in Jr. High.

| that's true, if they're out of style, why would you want to hold on to them. I once heard on oprah, that it's bad to hold onto them, just toss them out! That way when you lose, you can reward yourself with NEW stuff.

| I try to get rid of my fat and skinny clothes as often as possible. Over the years I have learned that it does no good to hang on to them.

| Yes - I have some of my skinny cloths. I'm pretty good at giving away things that are too big. I did keep one pair of jeans from when I was my heaviest as a visual of how I don't want to go back.

| I agree with pinkpixie on that one. Everytime I keep something that is bigger then me I gain the weight back quicker. I guess not having bigger clothes and no wanting to spend money to larger clothes just because I gained weight back is a great motivator not to start gaining weight again.
