He says that the reason I'm not losing weight with all the working out that I'm doing is because I'm not eating right.  This plan includes 6 meals a day and seems like a lot of food. Steping on the scale this morning showed I had gained 15 pounds during the month and half taking medications and I was already 80 pounds over weight. That is the best way to do it!  I find that keeping myself busy with yardwork, housework, and other crafty things like scrapbooking and knitting.  I have found that keeping my hands busy really helps!<BR><BR>Krysn:  I'm sorry for all of the problems over the past 3 years you and your hubby have gone through.  I truly can sympathize because going through the process of conception month in and month out without any luck can really become sad for a person.  I was like you too.  I would binge each month from the middle of the month until the end of the month when my period showed up.  So, I truly understand.  It is really a hard thing to go through.  I do want to say to you that focusing on losing the weight and working out will help you for sure.                                                 <td>Hi everyone! <BR>This is a great message board.  I agree with everyone about getting fit.  I have a three year old and weighed 230 lbs. when I got pregnant with him.  I gained another 18 lbs during the <a href="http://babyfit.com">pregnancy</a> (which is that bad) but even though I'm obese I have always been pretty active physically and I didn't get gestational <a href="/resource/health_conditions.asp?condition=9">diabetes</a> and my son was born a healthy, happy baby!  I was 36 at the time (almost 37).  Now we have decided to go for another one.  But now I'm almost 40 and obese.  I HATE THAT WORD!!  I've been working out and eating well for the last couple of months and I really feel so much more healthy.  I really would like to get under 200 lbs. before I get pregnant but I also don't want to wait too much longer because of my age.  <BR>Right now I'm really focusing on getting in shape.  I do Billy Blanks Tae Bo three times a week, walk 3 miles four times a week and go to the gym 2 times a week.  I feel great and now I just need to lose the weight!<BR>Ann

                                                <td>Hey everyone! My husband and I have a 10 month old son and we want to have another baby in the next 2 or 3 years. I'm trying to lose weight, get in shape, and get use to eating right and working out before I get pregnant again because I gained a LOT of weight with my first pregnancy. When I got pregnant I was 105lbs - the day I gave birth I was 170lbs. I wasn't careful about what I ate and I never exercised. I want to be healthier next time and not gain so much weight. It's been a struggle to get down to my current weight and I still have about 20lbs to go. Good luck to everyone. We have been trying for the past three years and its been nothing but an emotional roller coaster and binge eating horribly. I joined this group so that way I can hopefully better myself so my body will be able to be either more fertile and just make myself healthy so my baby when i do get pregnant will have a good chance. its so frustrating because my bestfriend is having a baby and my sister in-law just had one along with my cousin and its like ok what about me. Right now the doctor is <a href="http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/search_results.asp?site_search_term=running">running</a> some test to see why my lower abdomin is hurting so bad. The nurse said my left ovary is quite enlarge compared to the right so really nervous about this and unfourtuantley been eating more lately then I should. Its so hard not to. I'm trying to keep myself busy but working midnights its so hard. Sometimes I feel like the only thing that comforts me is food and I have to get out of that habit I know. I've never been regular and I wonder if the weight has a factor in it. Sometimes I can go for 8 months with out then just like recently I went literally all summer being on it. Can't get pregnant if your flowing all the time. Sorry to bore you with my situation just one of them bad days and thought I would write. Thanks.<BR>Krysn

                                                <td>Everyone:  I just want to say that I think everyone needs to relax and understand that trying to conceive is VERY stressful, especially when you try and try and try and nothing seems to be working.  Believe me, we tried for 2 years and nothing was happening and it was VERY stressful!   <BR><BR>I pray everyone is having a great weekend!  Things here are good I guess.  I'm now 5 days late for my period but 3 tests come back negitive.  SO, Tuesday, I'm off to the doctor's.  I'm one of those people who DO NOT miss a period!  So, we will find something out on Tuesday.                                                 <td>I agree with Moza. There are ways to tell when you are ovulating without taking an ovulation test. When you get the clear discharge in the middle of your cycle, that is when you are ovulating. A good book for anyone trying to conceive but having trouble " How To Choose The Sex Of Your Baby". I don't agree with trying to choose whether you get a boy or girl, that is up to God, but it has a lot of good information about how the whole thing works. It has helped a lot of people who couldn't conceive get the baby they wanted. I have 2 children, a boy and a girl. We didn't try to choose the sex of our babies but now looking back at how and when they were conceived, the book was right on the money for both of them. Good luck to all of you. I am not trying to brag - I just want others to know that you can do it and your best thing to do is to try not to worry.  One tip that someone who had trouble conceiving told me.....count back fourteen days from when your period is due, take the ovulation test, and you probably will be ovulating.

                                                <td>I would really like to say something.  Some people do not have miscarriages because they weigh 200 pounds or they are 30 pounds overweight.  Some people have a miscarriage because the baby was not healthy and the fetus was not developing properly.  These statements kind of bother me because I did miscarry and I do not feel that my 30 pounds led me to lose the baby.  I know skinny people who have miscarried and I know fat people who have had healthy babies.  <BR><BR><BR><BR>

Had my fill reading the messages posted on this messageboard, and noted with particular interest those pertaining to women who, like myself, weight in excess of 200 pounds.  I would advise any mom or want-to-be-mom not to entertain the thought of becoming pregnant weighing anything near to 200 lbs.  Its not healthy and would lead to a lot of complications during pregnancy, such as gestational <a href="/resource/health_conditions.asp?condition=9">diabetes</a> not to mention miscarriages, and in severe cases can lead to death of mother.  This is no joke and in as much as we would like to have families or extend them, it is equally important to do first things first.  And that is to LOSE the WEIGHT.  This is the very best thing to do if we really love ourselves and care for the wellbeing of our precious little ones.<BR><BR>While I am a mother of a precious little girl who would be two next month, and would love for her to have a little baby brother or sis to grow up with and cherish, I must first see to it that I lose 50 pounds before I even entertain the thought.  It can be done and it will be done.  I'm already on my way to achieving that goal.  <BR><BR>Congrats to other moms or want to be moms who have also taken that step and I am here to be anyone's buddy and pal for continued support and encouragement.                                                 <td>I went to buy a HPT today (we're not trying yet, but I was late and hoping for a surprise), and the clerk wished me a "happy and healthy pregnancy".  I appreciated the gesture, but it made my BFN that much more disappointing :(  <BR><BR>It would also have been awful if I had been hoping for a negative.  Maybe I'm just being sensitive because I'm disappointed (okay, PROBABLY I am), but it seemed like a strange thing for him to comment on given that he didn't know me and didn't know what I would be hoping for.

I know that with my last pregnancy, my eating habits from SP and my exercise routine helped SO MUCH for me to stay healthy and fit while baby was growing inside.  It also made for such a wonderful delivery!<BR><BR>Baby Fit really is a great site!  I have 2 wonderful friends who were due on the same day that I was.  We have kept contact while our babies have grown and continue to grow.  We have even met!  So, I highly promote Baby Fit.<BR><BR>I did want to wish each of you who have lost a baby a sincere sorry!  I have been pregnant 5 times and only have 2 children.  Miscarriage is a hard thing to go through and grieve over.  Many people don't understand that even though you never met that baby, you still were attached too it. I have a 21 month old and at the time I was pregnant he was 16 months.  I also had a C-section with my first child and have not toned up or lost my baby weight. I have 10 pounds to lose to get to my prebaby weight and would like to get off another 15 before another attempt.  I never want to go through that again.

I was back down to 115 when I got pregnant with my second and then 125 with my third, both times gaining 35 lbs. I've actually gained weight since my third, and I don't want to get pregnant at this weight, for fear of getting too heavy... It gives nutrition and fitness guides, tools, calculators, and great discussion boards.                                                 <td>Someone down below had asked about what doc to see and stuff.  I too just went to doctor that does all of my annual paps and women stuff.  She was great!  <BR><BR>As for the rest of us, it looks like we all want to lose in order to be healthy for our babies.  I know that when I finally got pregnant after about 2 years of trying, it was because I wasn't as focused on it as I had been previously.  I was focused on losing the 30 pounds that I wanted to lose.  I wound up losing 35 pounds on the day that I found out I was pregnant.  Funny huh?  Now, I'm trying again to lose 30 pounds.  I'm also trying hard to not focus on the baby part and more on the me and the health part. <BR><BR>

                                                <td>So nice to see so many of you in the same boat!  My husband and I have been trying to lose weight (not "dieting", but writing everything down, trying to make good choices, etc) for several months now.  I lost about 10 pounds and completely got stuck at a plateau, way earlier than I expected ... which led me to SparkPeople!<BR><BR>We are currently training to walk/run in a half <a href="http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/search_results.asp?site_search_term=marathon">marathon</a> in January.  Hopefully no babies before that, because it was expensive! :-P  That should really help, although we've been "training" for about 10 weeks and just keep slacking off instead of moving forward!<BR><BR>We have recently decided that we will start TTC a couple of months after that, so possibly starting in March 2007!  I'm actually a recovered(recovering) anorexic (believe it or not.... a lot has changed since 7 years ago, when I was hospitalized at my lowest "adult" weight of 94lbs).  So, I USED to be absolutely terrified of the weight gain with pregnancy, so much so that I assumed I would never have children.<BR><BR>Again, a lot changes in 7 years!  I want a baby, oh... yesterday! :)  Now however, I could stand to lose 20-30 pounds BEFORE conceiving.  I want my <a href="http://babyfit.com">pregnancy</a> to be as healthy as possible, plus I know this -- if I can lose the weight now, and only gain 20-30 pounds as recommended while pregnant, I can certainly lose it again!<BR><BR>It's still very hard for me to "eat well".  When I step off the scale, I go into starvation mode.  I know what "works" for me, as far as losing weight.... but thankfully my husband knows that doesn't "work" in getting healthy.<BR><BR>Good luck to all of you, and I look forward to plugging away on this journey with you!

He told me that I don't need to lose weight, but that it wouldn't hurt me to do so. He also said that as soon as things happen to stop losing weight! His suggestions were just to be healthier and more fit b/f a baby so that getting rid of the extra weight later would hopefully be easier. Also, the more active you are b/f you concieve the easier it will be to be active!!

I weighed 170lbs (I'm 5 feet 3 1/2 inches tall) when I became pregnant with my DD, I weighed 145lbs when I became pregnant with my DS and I am now 129 lbs... so, if you can become pregnant and are a little overweight, maybe what you need is having that baby... it worked for me!

                                                <td>Hello Everyone!  I'm on this thread for this first time but I'm far from new to SP or BabyFit.  My name is Nikki Lynn and just love SP.  This truly is the best place to learn how to become healthy but also a great way to meet people who are dealing with the same issues as yourself.<BR><BR>Some history on me, my hubby and I are trying to conceive with number 3.  We have lost 3 children total in our lives but were very blessed with 2 children, Jack 12, and Gabi who will be 1 in December.  It took us about 2 years to become pregnant with her.  Thank God, everything went well with her pregnancy.<BR><BR>I wanted say a few words to each of you.  Never loose hope and faith when it comes to conceiving and having children!  I will say that I personally have a problem conceiving, carrying, and having children when I'm alittle overweight.  Out of all of my pregnancies, the 2 who survived were conceived when I was very thin.  When I lost the 3, I was not fat or really bad overweight but more just on the limit.  So, I"m here just like all of you trying to lose that weight and get healthy for both me and my family!<BR><BR>I continue to pray for all of you and hope to see some of you on Baby Fit soon! I also can not wait to get pregnant.  I know that my husband and i are ready, but of course, the problem that has plagued me my whole life is the problem once again.  I am fat.  I weight about 290 and no matter what I do I just can not shed this weight.  I have to now though because I want a child more than anything and it is not going to happen if I continue on the way I have my whole life.                                                 <td>I went to the doc's today for a check-up. In on May 3, 2005 I lost my 2nd child. I was 21 weeks. My husband and I have thought about having another, but I want to be in TIP TOP health this time. The doc said "You should lose about 45lbs, Lori" so here I am. It may be a year or more before we try to have another baby, but that gives me sometime to get my body where it needs to be.                                                 <td>There's a bunch of us in this boat, huh? One of the main motivators for me right now is that we're TTC (and have been for nearly 3 years now). My weight certainly isn't helping, but it doesn't seem to be the main reason for no baby (no health issues related to my weight - yet). So ... while I'm receiving treatment from an RE, I'm also trying to lose weight. I've done it before (right before my <a href="http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/search_results.asp?site_search_term=wedding">wedding</a> - lost 25 pounds on <a href="http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/search_results.asp?site_search_term=weight-watchers">weight watchers</a> and was at 172 - not my ideal weight, but way better than my current weight), so I know I can do it again. It's just a matter of getting an adulthood of bad habits under control. (I didn't have this problem until after I hit 25 and was living on my own.)<BR><BR>Sue

A little history on me.. in March I had a miscarraige at 20 weeks, i gained about 15 pounds by then and have not been able to loose them.                                                 <td>Hello, I'm very happy to see this thread.  We had our first baby 2 1/2 years ago.  I gained 62 pounds during my pregnancy, and still have 40 pounds of it on me.  Its depressing.  I was so skinny and beautiful before I got pregnant, but I was not a healthy eater during the pregnancy.<BR>We have recently decided to try for our second baby.  I was a little scared, because another 62 pounds would put me over the edge!  Then I found this wonderful website.  I'm on a low-cal plan to get me down to a healthy weight.  My husband and I have started going to the gym together (while our daughter plays in the <a href="http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/search_results.asp?site_search_term=kids">kids</a> center).  I want to be in shape and healthy before I get pregnant.  Then I can continue to be in shape and healthy throughout the pregnancy.  Then I can shed the weight afterwards.  I am so full of ambition and goals.  I love it.

                                                <td>I haven't read through all the posts (no time) but I am interested in this page because I realized, recently, that I finally would consider having another baby (my "baby" is 14 years old). While I'm not married, and my relationship is questionable at best, I realized that the decision to have a baby could be sooner than I think. I wouldn't want anything but the best health for my baby. I was very healthy when I conceived my first and my health suffered because of complications. I couldn't possibly survive complications like that from my current health... so I'd better get myself into shape now. Then, when the time comes to have this baby (I can just FEEL that it's going to happen) I'll be ready.

                                                <td>Hi, I just joined SparkPeople with this exact goal - to get healthy before conceiving.  I've been exercising about a month and have lost some weight (I know because I can see it in my face and my pants fit better) However, I actually weighed myself for the first time today and I'm 207 at 5'9 inches tall.  That gives me a <a href="/resource/calculator_bmi.asp">BMI</a> of 30.6.  I need to get myself in the normal range so my goal weight is 165-170. My one year <a href="http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/search_results.asp?site_search_term=wedding">wedding</a> anniversary is today!  We said that we wouldn't talk about babies or getting pregnant until our first year anniversary.  Well, that obviously didn't fully work, but I am losing weight now so that I can be healthy when I become pregnant, have good habits going for during the pregnancy, and be thin and energetic for once I have the baby, and be a cool mom that can play as they grow up!                                                 <td>I can relate.  I gained 40 lbs with my son and have been unable to lose it.  He is now 18 months and my husband and I want to have another.  Two months ago I found out I was 4 weeks pregnant.  Three weeks and 2 days later I miss carried.  I think a mix of the <a href="http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/search_results.asp?site_search_term=stress">stress</a> in my life and my weight were the main factors.  Everyone told me that when the time is right it will happen.  So I'm offering you this piece of advice accompanied with a story of my friend's mother.  At the age of 42 when her youngest child was 7 (meaning she was 35 when he was born) she got a little surprise package in the form of a completely healthy boy.  You are still so young.                                                 <td>I'm in definitely on the same boat. I just had my first baby in June. I only gained 38 lbs. but I was already in need of losing weight before becoming pregnant so that didn't help. It definitely helped that I watched what I ate (well at least for most of the pregnancy) and I also worked out regularly and kept active. I know had I not done those two things, I would've gained alot more weight. Right now I'm hoping to lose at least 30 more before we try for #2 in the summer of next year. I think it's doable I just have to stay focused and make sure I exercise to keep the calories down. Good Luck to you other mommies and mommies to be!
