My husband stayed home with our youngest until he was 7 mos. old. The day care I had picked out did something I didn't like at the last minute, and it cost too much anyway. He wasn't making that much money so he volunteered for it. It worked out ok but I always felt like he expected me to immediately take over and do everything the minute I walked through the door. Funny how they feel that way but we're not supposed to expect anything of them when the shoe's on the other foot...
