| I have also tried Flylady. It was also too much. I have adopted some of the ideas and they work great. I am naturally an organized person so lists and lists work really well. All my chores have steps so when I ask the kids to do them I know they are done correctly each time. I have 7 children so there is always a lot to do. Try to look at your schedule the night before and set anything out you may need. Change breakfast for that crazy morning. I am learning to give up some things and let them go.

| Fly lady was a lot for me too; however, a lot of the concepts are great. Do as much as you can in a little chunk of time (we will set the timer for 10 minutes and speed "clean" a room or space), keeping the sink clean (in bedrooms the "sink" is making the bed), dressed to the shoes (people laugh at that one but it makes all the difference) that kind of thing. I like her program because she has some great concepts - I don't follow it, but I've adopted some of the ideas.

I tried Flylady.com and even that was overwhelming to me. SO I am starting smaller than that even. Today I have spent the whole day working on sorting and cleaning. Moving furniture and vaccuming etc....

My suggestion would be that you start creating daily lists of things you want to accomplish each day. Big or small, write them all down (grocery store, pack lunches, clean, workout, laundry, read books with kids, etc...). Then I would look at all your tasks and put them down on paper in order of importance/time.
It's so easy with children to get side tracked and forget what we originally set out to do. Being organized helps us think clearer, brings more order and structure to things and makes us more productive and accountable for our days. Try it for a week and see if you feel less frazzled. It doesn't have to be a fancy calendar book, I like writing everything down on a notebook and I LOVE scratching it off my list once I've accomplished it.
I hope this helps a little - keep us posted!

Something that I can follow from the time I get up to the time the boys go to bed. I can spend to much time on the computer or on something else. It's like I look at the clock and say it that time already. Plus I am always late now for everyting and my oldest is starting kindergarden and my youngest is starting preschool in the fall. I would feel so bad if we were late. Last year my son was late for preschool half the time. I have to get on track of things. Plus I want to volunter at the school this year. How can I do all this? I'm not a organized person and I need to be for my boys.

Congrats on the new house! Being organized and having routines can make a world of difference in your sanity...and children really benefit from routine as well. Here is an article that I found in the Resource Center that may help get you started or point you in a better direction.
Manage Yourself in No Time
Hope it helps! Kelly

| Give yourself some time to settle in first. ASs a SAHM to five who also has a home business, I find that a calendar helps keep things organized. I use Outlook for my email and it has a calendar with times scheduled. I will often put things like "call so-and-so" on the calendar at a certain time with a reminder set up. It will sync up with my PDA so I can have my calendar with me even when I'm not at the computer.

I am crazy too. I have 4 boys 9,8,6,5 and they are always messing up my planned schedule. I cannot keep to a schedule at all so instead I run from one appointment to the next. All 4 of my boys are special needs so I run constantly. The house is a disaster and is simply not big enough for our wild lives. I need all the help I can get too. HUGS and Good Luck, Tina

| Good Morning, I'm a stay at home mom that needs a little help. I can't seem to get on a schedule. I have a 6 and a 4 year old boy. We just moved into our new home about a month ago. We lived with my inlaws for a year untill we found the right home. I just can't seem to get a schedule going. So things are a little crazy now. Sometimes I feel like I don't know what to do with our time. Any suggestions?
