LaurieB2, thank you for asking
She has 2 lumps on her left side. The doc says he will only take part of her breast but until they go in, it's not for sure. We will only find out after the surgery how far the cancer is. This is the second time around for mom.
My sister also had cancer and is fine today.
I have had 2 aunt only one survived.
Cancer is no stranger to my family.

I too, am sorry to hear about your mother and will keep y'all in my prayers.
When I walk in the Race for breast cancer I walk in honor of about 10 people I know. All are survivors. My aunt is about a 40 year survivor.

I am so sorry to hear about your mom. Cancer seems to be all around us today, but you know what, so are survivors of it. My boss had breast cancer and because I worked at the Deli she owned I got to know a lot of people in town that had had cancer. It makes you feel good to know that there are soooo many people out there who come out on top.
Stay strong and be there for your mom as an advocate and a suport, that is all you can do.

Louiseanna - The best thing to do at this stage for both you an your mom is to educate yourself and ask questions. If you were going to get a cancer, breast cancer is one of the better ones to get as treatment now is so refined. Be strong, ask questions, and be there for mom. Make sure you keep yourself healthy! I will say a prayer for you and your mom tonight!

I am vey sorry to hear about your mother. You both will be in my thoughts. One of my good family friends was recently dianosed with breast cancer- her daughter was also diagnosed the year earlier.
It can be a very scary thing, I can't even imagine what you are going through right now. In terms of how far along she is- I don't have any advice or knowledge on the subject myself. But I can say that people react to things differently, some people are very sensitive to the signs and signals their bodies send to them.
I hope your mother recovers well and all the best to you.

My mother was diagnose with breast cancer yesterday. She says everything is going to be ok. They will take it out and be done with it. I am not so sure because she's in pain and doctor says she has to go for treatment.
My question is if they caught it in time. Should she be in pain? Even her leg is going numb. I think she is further along than she thinks.
