That kind of thing make me happy that I got determined before joey got older. She's only two, so I'm happy that she just thinks it's fun right now. She doesn't get it, but she sure does love it!

Yes, they're so helpful, aren't they?!? At least at 2, unlike at 6, they don't say things like, "Mommy, why don't you look any different after all this dieting and exercise?"

I have been debating gettin gmy little one into yoga, but wasn't sure. Maybe we will try it together ... she DOES like pilates, though.

Or rather, she likes to crawl and jump all over me while I try to DO Pilates ... LOL

There are all sorts of opinions on whether yoga is good or bad for kids, but I have found it does nothing but good things for mine - esp. the younger one, who was a preemie and had some muscle tone and joint issues.

Hi everyone! I have a 2 year old who loves to workout with me. My husband is in the military and he says our son is doing baby PT (physical training) :)His favorite thing to do is jumping jacks - it's so cute to watch! But he also tries to do sit ups and yoga.

If anyone is looking for laughs and giggles while working out w/ kids, I highly recommend YogaKids tapes/dvds - it's a decent workout and the kids (mine are 2&6) LOVE it, especially "Silly to Calm", which is full of animals references and poses, which my son adores. Turn the videocam on and watch and listen to yourselves afterward for truly the darndest things....

I love to watch Joey in action. She is a girly girl so she runs her own little orphanage right out of her room. There are about five babys, each with their own place to sleep, and they take turns going out with us. No baby is ever forgotten! I like to watch my daughter with her "babies", because she shows me what I do, and what I don't do. Watching her tells me when I am lacking something, or when I'm doing good.

Something else, going back to the exercise thing ... She is doing "sit-ups" also. She lays on her back on on the floor with her back propped up on her elbows, and lifts her feet up to her head! I guess it's easier that way ...

When my son was three it was such a riot to watch his version of adult exercise! His form left a lot to be desired

The do such a great job of being little parrots. I now hear "look at me" a lot. I wonder where he has heard that before? LOL!

That just cracked me up that she said that. When your baby starts talking to you ... boy, are you in for a treat! Another thing she does lately is that she walks her fingers up my arm and says, "by-da, by-da dit shooooo, mommy! ("Spider, Spider, GET YOU, mommy!") I love her little voice and hearing her talk is more of a blessing than I ever imagined! Good Luck!

I have been working out at home with my two-year-old in the room, and I can see the ways that this is impacting her ... Somehow she knows what days are planned for me to do strength training, and on those days, I always do the calf raises on the wall because my calves are very weak. This morning, my daughter went to the door, where I stand to do my raises, and she was lifting up and saying, "UP! DOWN! UP! DOWN!" It feels good to know I am teaching her good habits ... she is always 'cizing' (how she says it) now!
