Oh no, no apologies ahve been said
she got on the ohone with me and said we needed to fgure out what was going on, I said Umm hello I KNOW what is going on, its not like this is the first I have heard of thier anger. I said I live with them day in and day out. I know the hurt they have for you leaving them.
I told her they didnt want to talk to her anymore but that I tell them that is thier mother and they will want to talk to her again sometime.
Sad sad..

Gosh, I am so sorry to hear that about your step children. Yes, I do agree with you you would think she would remember her childs birthdate. Did she at least apologize? Try to make it up to her?

Yes that is very good!
My stepkids just had a blow up at thier bio mom. See, she lives in CO.. and doesnt see them at all anymore.. and only sometimes calls. She told my youngest stepdaughter who will be 9, that her birthday was on June 28 , when it is June 29th. I mean its not like the mother is 60 years old, you would think she would remember the day she gave BIRTH.
Anyway they wer all yelling at her and telling her never to call again.
I was crying, they were crying.
It was very bad.

Hi everyone... welcome to the new lady! I will not even pretend to understand what you are going through... I am just getting over my husband having colorectal cancer 1.5 years ago. That was 1 whole year wiped off our lives to do the treatments etc. Yet I am counting blessings that all is fine and he is in checkup mode for next few years until he gets the 'cure' sign from doctors.
Sunflower - WAY TO GO GIRL on the exercise... You are doing soo great... keep it up...
Kids - don't you love all those hormones.. they don't know whether they are coming or going.... all we can do is ride out the storm and keep the hugs and love abundant for them to run home to when they want it.
We are actually off to my oldest stepson's graduation ceremony next week. He just graduated college for firefighting. He may go back next year to get his degree, if he does not get a full-time firehall gig this summer. He has not got one yet, so looks like to me, he will go back, but we will see. Meanwhile,, my issue with him is that he works like crazy. He has a goal he says, - to buy a house near us . and he has no ties so he can put in the 80 hour weeks while he can. Gotta admire the gumption to do that though, I guess. Better than NOT working.

This weekend my stepson who will be 13 informed us he does NOT want to ever call his mom again.. and me being a mom and the one always trying to fix things, i said, son she loves you.. and all that.
my stepdaughter told me she wants me to adopt her and she wants to call her mom and tell her she doesnt ever want to talk to her again.. which I know is just her anger. she will talk to her and so will Tony.. they are just so hurt right now.

Hello everyone, I just found this thread. What a great thread!!!! I have 4 children 24, 20, 17, & 12. I tell my kids they are blessed to have 2 moms instead of just 1 who both love them and want whats best for them. We have been very blessed to have her in our family.
I became a stepmom a year ago to a little boy who has cancer. He is a handful. We have sole custody so I think you understand what I am up against with his bio-mom.
The one thing I want to tell everyone here is. I did Not grow up with my Bio-mom. I never even seen a picture. But I used to tell stories about how great she was. She could do no wrong. All Lies!!! The other kids who were in foster care with me did the same thing. Even the ones who were covered in bruises, burns whatever. Please do not take that personally!!! It is a way for kids to cope. The truth is just way to painful!!!
I hope everyone here has a Great Weekend. My stepson is with his Bio-mom this weekend so I am going to enjoy the peace and quiet.

I am still waiting also and my husband and I have been married for almost 7 years. I used to try so hard to do everything for my step son but then I noticed well that really was not fair to my children. That is when I realized that I had nothing to prove. He either would like me or not it was his choice.
Yes, you are right concentrating on the relationship with her soon to be husband is truly what matters. When the girls see how good they are together they will appreciate her just for the happiness she has brought to their father (unless of course they are really awful, lol). But again that will all come with time.

| That makes perfect sense. Just let it come naturally, might take some time, but just concentrate on your and your husband. Things usually have a way of working out over time. I am still waiting but I will just carry on with my life with my partner no matter what:).

| Hi. Just a piece of advice don't try to hard; let it come naturally, and the fact is they will need to accept you for yourself and if they can't then that is their loss. Besides that is the fact that that would be very hard on your nerves always trying to prove that you are good enough for their father(which I am quite sure you are or he wouldn't be marrying you) does that make sense?

glad you had a great weekend! Christelle did not do very well at golf today. to much other stuff on her mind. the bond was approved for the new house so that is one thing done so now we can move forward with it. tomorrow is an open house for realtors since we put our house on open mandate. So tonight is getting the house back into shape. It only takes one day away for it to get out of shape again. First I need to rest a bit as the golf was 36 holes and it took 8 hours to do. That is a lot of walking so I got plenty of cardio today and still getting more tonight.
anyway, I am rambling on here. Have a great night everyone and keep well.

HI there ladies! Well my poker party was fun! Then Sat night we went to my SIL house and played black jack and spoons.. oh we had soo much fun! And Although I ate WAYYYY too many chips and dip Fri, Sat night I didnt.. so it balanced itself out!!

Thanks for the congrats. surprisingly I did all right this past weekend. I ate some chocolate but actually lost a little bit of weight instead of gain. Tomorrow is a big golf day for Christelle in Bryanston. two complete rounds and I will be walking along, so it will be about 7 hours of brisk walking. I am not allowd to caddy for her so I have to stay off to the side, but still getting plenty of exercise for me.
then wednsday is right back to getting the house presentable. we are laying carpet tiles in her fathers room and some other things. I still have some painting to do so my cardio is coming in other ways, but that is good for a change in routine I believe.

Hi everyone , how was the weekend. How did you fare sunflower with your poker party? Hope all went well and remember, if you did indulge, up the aerobic part this week for an extra 15 min to help you ensure you are OK.
I did OK, I was really good all week as I know I will go off a bit on Sat evening. But the good thing is that even though the calorie intake was 500 cal over what I normally do, I ate 'good' food , so at least was nutritious. Only ate 1/2 piece of cake this weekend...and I factored that into my day. YEAH for me! I did it...
Congrats Ravendelport on getting to goal. Good luck on maintenance.

Well weekend here. I know,weekends are hard. I am off to our cottage and that is always hard with drinks and BBQ. But I made it through 2 weekends in a row with not doing too bad (even with snack). What works - bring up and put on table veggies and dip, and/or fruit tray of fruits you like. Just graze that instead of chips and dip. Take some with you to poker night. I plan on eating light lunch so I can enjoy my BBQ extra lean hamburger tonight with a large salad and glass of red wine(or 2 if I can stick to no snacks). For me red wine is my snack. So 2 would be nice...
Good luck to you all... Go fora walk before poker and that will help too.

Hello everyone.
How is everyone this week. Well my scale finally moved a bit again. My birthday is coming up in 2 weeks and I tell you, losing weight as you are in late 40's is NOTHING like losing weight when I was 30. Then it was easy, now ..it is a long haul...
Sunflower - how is your own aerobic challenge working out? I trust you are making time for yourself to do your own challenge? AFter all - to all you step-mom's YOU ARE IMPORTANT TOO. DON'T FORGET TO DO THIS FOR YOURSELF. We tend to forget ourselves, or put ourselves last when we deal with families and problems. Exercising and eating well helps deal with stress better than reaching for your bag of chips, french fries, chocolate or whatever is the craving that calls to you when you are stressed.

Hello. It is nice to meet you. I honestly believe that they should at least try what you cook and then if they truly do not like it then allow them to make a sandwitch or something else that they truly want. As long as they make it themselves. Or how about letting her help you with some of the small parts of making dinner; it might help for the following reasons:
1. she might feel useful
2. you will be able to spend one on one time with her and get to know her even better.
3. she also will possibly want to eat it since she put some effort into it also.
4. she will have to eventually know how to cook for herself anyway so she will have a head start on it.
Well, it is worth a shot anyway.

Hi everyone :) I hope I'm doing this right. I'm a new member to this website, and a 24 year-old step-mom to an 8 year-old girl. It's really refreshing to see that there's a group out there that go through some of the same things I do! :)
We unfortunately don't have any children of our own yet, but I hope to change that soon. He wants to wait until I've completed my degree, though. I only have 2 years left (I took one of those dreaded "breaks" in the middle, there), but I'm not sure I want to wait that long. He just turned 35, and I'm just scared that he's going to say that he doesn't want to have kids in the house until he's in his 50's. He says that won't happen, but I guess I'm just paranoid.
A question for y'all: my daughter's bio mother is forever feeding her "Box or Bag Meals", meaning she doesn't cook much, if at all. I, on the other hand, love to cook and am always making my own meals and recipes. It's so hard to get her to at least try what I make because she hasn't been exposed to "real food" a whole lot. Needless to say, mealtimes are a struggle. Does anyone else have this problem? Any advice?

I SWEAR WHEN I GOT UP THIS MORNING; I DIDN'T EVEN HAVE THE ENERGY TO MAKE A DECENT BREAKFAST; SO INSTEAD I DRUG MYSELF TO WORK AND PUT SOME P BUTTER ON low carb BREAD AND THAT WAS MY BREAKFAST.
IN OTHER WORDS I DID NOT DO ANY EXERCISES AT ALL THIS MORNING.
I SWEAR IF I DO NOT FIND SOMETHING TO HELP ME WITH THIS MENOPAUSAL INSOMNIA I AM GOING TO GO BERSERK (I AM SOOOOO TIRED).
WE HAD MY STEP SON THIS LAST WEEKEND AND IT WAS OKAY; WELL HE PULLED THE USUAL STUNTS BETWEEN HIS FATHER AND MYSELF BUT I JUST TRIED TO WALK AWAY INSTEAD OF ARGUING THE POINT.

Hi gang,
I just caught up on your posts. Hope everyone is okay, and coping.
Unfortunately my fiance won't change his mind - he has been 'snipped' and insists that at 42, he is unwilling to have another baby, and doesn't want to be tied down until he is 60. Which we would be.
The sad part is, that I totally understand his point. I agree. But that doesn't help me. I'm only 36. I wasn't done having kids. Sometimes I feel really angry and think that if he didn't already GET to raise 3 kids, he wouldn't be so selfish about this. It seems pretty easy to deny me an experience he has already gotten to do 3 times. If the roles were reveresed, I WOULD do it for him.
There's my vent.
I had a dream about babies last night. It kills me and I feel so sad and morose when I wake up to reality.
Ugh.

 Hello everyone I am a step mother to 2 I have a step daughter and son(she was 6 yrs old and he was 9 months) We have a total of 5 children. Myne his and ours. We had a daughter to gether and boy have i had a long bumpy road it has been full of ups amd downs but i know in my heart that ive allways given a h 100% so nothen can over power those of us who has taken on another mothers child or father for that matter. my children (to me they are myne because ive always been their threw it all) Have really put me to the test let me tell you i could write a book. I think that this is an awsome topic and am here to join in if you have any questions. I will more than be happy to answer them Does any one have older step children myne are 25, and 20,... and can still be a hand full will it ever end?.. Ya Gotta Love Them  . I go threw !!!!! but couldn't imagine my life without them....

| Hello. It is not to bad here. I think the humidity in C.J., MO is worse than the heat ever was in Arizona. But I have relatives who still live there and they say it is awful in Arizona. So I don't know. I guess I should be happy with the 81 degrees that we have here.

I am relaxing now. It is going on 9 pm and I will probably be going to bed soon. Christelle has to get up for work at 4am so that means I am up at that time also.
I love it here. Like anyplace you have your bad things going on, but it is all just adapting to your environment and being vigilant. It is a lot like Southern Florida.

Today is my 7th anniversary of coming to south africa!!
Today I did lots of stuff around the house. Painting, cleaning, laundry, etc, etc and then I got to my weights. I am ready to relax for the night now. Have a great evening everyone.

Yes, I can understand that; well plus you need to figure it is not good for any of you. Health and stress wise. Geez, and I thought I had the worst of it. I truly hope I do not have to go through that ever with my step son. My kids and step son are far from perfect but I guess it could be worse.

Hey does he maybe resent the fact that his father is gone? Or something? I know when my exhusband moved to AZ and well started a new life without my kids my oldest son (for about a year) was a demon from .....
