Hi Debbie! We change threads once a week to keep them short so noone has to read twenty million messages to understand what we are saying. Go to the STBS - May 1-7 thread. Type into the search box you should find us there. We're very happy to have you!

Hi Kathy, You should check out the thread stbs - may 1-7. Some of the girls start a new thread each week so there isn't so much to read if you miss a couple of days. I understand what you mean. I have friends who never work out or rarely do and never seem to gain a pound. I've always been a fairly active person and have always stuggled with my weight. I have one daughter who is 13 months and I've really been trying hard to lose the weight although of late I've been lazy. These messages help though.

Hi Everyone, Kathy started a new thread called STBS-4/28 since this one is getting so long. Randi is also going to start a STBS-bio page where we can all put some info about ourselves. There are so many people on here, that I can't keep everyone straight! So, be on the lookout for the STBS-bio page and come join us on the 4/28 page.

Amy,
Isn't it great to not feel like you are the only one with a specific problem keeping you heavy? It really helps me stay motivated to know there are others out there that are working toward the same goal as I am! Thanks for the reply!

Welcome Kim!
I did almost the same thing. I lost weight at the beginning of my pregnancy. I only gained 21 pounds all together and that was all baby! I lost it all as soon as I had her. Now I have gained all that plus alot more. I am at home all day with her and it has been so easy to just snack ALL day long. Now I am really concious about what I eat and Halli loves it outside so I have motivation to get out there and get moving!

Good Evening, Skinnies!
I hope things are going well for everyone. I've had a better day than I thought. I thought I had blown the calories and everything today, but I still stayed in range and didn't go over fat or anything. I only got 15 mins of exercise, but as those of you from the other site know of me that's a lot more than normal! I'm a regular couch potato!
Kathy~ I hope the exams are going okay. I also hope Hayley is feeling better soon. {{{HUGS}}} to her.
Cindi~ I cancelled my ediets membership. Where the Fresh nuts still over there or did some of them come over here too? Do you keep in contact with any of them? How is Evan doing? Any better? I haven't heard lately.
Michelle~ It's good to see you!
KELLYINKY~ Are you the Kelly I knew from ediets who used to sell the hand poured candles?
Debbie~ I like the idea. I was even thinking of maybe a daily one like we did on the other site. Whatever. But I do think we need a newer thread more often. There's a lot of us posting on here and weekly would definitely help cut down on the amount of scrolling through we have to do.
Becky~ Where did you go? You start the thread then leave. ;-) I've missed you and all my Skinny buddies! That darn finger of mine! It's still a bit stiff, but getting better! :-)
A quick hello to everyone else. I look forward to getting to know you all better. It's 11:30 here so I'd better hit the hay! I'll catch y'all later! {{{HUGS}}} to everyone. Good night!
(188/188/130) Randi

Hello everyone,
I am Kim from Texas. I am 25, married, and have a 20 month old son. It is really exciting to see this thread with SAHM's because all of you know what obstacles there are in weight loss after kids and being at home with temptaion to cheat at any time. I have seen several posts (although I didn't read every one) about people with difficut pregnancies, and am glad to know I am not alone. I LOST 32 lbs. during my pregnancy, because I could smell water and get sick, but after the baby, I gained all I lost, plus 40 more than I started with.
Today is my first full week on Spark, and I love it! No more feeling sorry for myself, just determination to lose the weight. I am tired of hiding in baggy clothing being unhappy with myself!

Hi Amy.
2 Posts in one day for me! I'm on a roll! LOL!!
I decided to go back for nursing after working as an accountant for 15 years. I am finishing my sciences this semester & start the actual nursing program in the fall. I just found out last week that I was accepted. I will have 2 years. UGHHHH... Another of our skinnies, Kelly, is also in nursing school. The program here has 2 days of clinicals, one day of lecture & one day of lab. I will be very happy when it is over!
Hayley is 6 and will be in first grade next year. That will help. This year is just 1/2 day. 2 semesters isn't bad. Do you have daycare that is reliable & that you are comfortable with? I always had my mom. I'm spoiled.....
I think I'll call it a night. I just got on here to print out worksheets for my Statistics class.
Goodnight.
Kathy

Hi Kathy. I just thought it was interesting that we have some things in common. I was in Nursing school with with two semesters left to go when I found out I was pregnant. I decided to drop and go back after she was born. I know how much time and energy it takes. I'm glad that I made the decision because I got real sick during my pregnancy and I don't think that I could have handled the stress and keep up my grades. It is such an intense program to study. we named our daughter Halli. i noticed that you had a little girl named Hayley!
Keep up the good work at school! How much longer do you have? I start back in August and I am so excited but terrified at the same time!

Hi Skinnies.
Just checking in between exams. 2 more weeks & then finally...a break! There's a lot of people I haven't welcomed, so, to everyone who has just joined us, WELCOME!!!
I'm Kathy. I live in Maryland. We have 6 children. 19 - 6. I am currently back in school for Nursing.
Better go & get the bedtime routine started. Hayley has been sick. She missed 2 days of school. Hope she can go tomorrow. Her fever has been so high! Today wasn't quite so bad.
I'll try to check in more often.
Kathy

Good Morning, Skinnies!!!
Yep it's me! I finally got around to reading my e-mail and found about 3 of my ediets friends had e-mailed me about this site!
I'm sorry it took so long to get over here. That messed up finger of mine just didn't let me check e-mail very well.
So for those who don't know me...I'm Randi, a stay at home mom of 2 boys Cody age 12 (13 in Aug) and Jeremy age 3 (4 in May). I live in Arkansas with my dh Rusty, our boys, and our 2 cats. I'm currently at 188 lbs. and my goal weight is 130 lbs. I also like to talk a lot so you may see several "novels" coming from me from time to time.
I just found SparkPeople.com today and haven't had a lot of time to wander around so I'm hoping I did this right. I'll have to do personal shout outs later. I'm going to explore the site right now.
{{{HUGS}}} to all! Catch y'all later!

okay I'm back and for some reason my message did not post while I was gone it's still sitting here, anyone else have this problem or is it just me?
Anyways I did my walk, I only walked the front half of our property the rest belongs to the horses and I just didn't feel like walking in sand today, so I did 4 laps around the front acre. I need to get one of those step counter things so I can figure out how far I've gone.
My original post:
Good Morning Ladies!!!
I feel great this morning! We had a cool front come through last night and there’s a little nip in the air that I love! As soon as I get James up at 8 I’m going to throw my shoes on and go walk a few laps around our place (2 acres).
Debbie- I just joined this post so I’m easy, A weekly thread sounds great to me. I looked at your profile and saw you were in CO for 3 years. What part of CO were you in, if you don’t mind me asking? I lived in Colorado Springs/Fort Carson from 91-93. I loved the weather but I was glad to get back to Texas.
Welcome Amy! I’ve only been on here for a week but everyone has been really sweet, hey y’all could be my sugar fix...LOL! Anyways welcome aboard
Okay I’m off to wake up James and go for my walk be back later. Hope everyone has a great day!

Hi everyone, I've had trouble getting to all of the newer posts on this thread and finally succeeded tonight. Yay! It's the little things in life. lol I went to jazzercise last night and the instructor kicked our butts! I'm sore today, but it feels so good to be exercising regularly again.
I just want to throw this out there and see what you all think about maybe starting a weekly thread such as STBS-April 24-30th. And then next week starting a new one with the new week. That way there won't be hundreds of posts to scroll through. What do you all think?
Ok, off to figure out how to do my profile on here...have a good night everyone! Debbie

Good Afternoon Ladies!
Cindi- Thanks for the advice, it sounds like something I can follow. Now if I could just give up the coke and homemade chips and salsa. I have started turning the kitchen lights off and when I start to go in there tell myself the kitchen is CLOSED. It’s working so far. And I know I don’t need the chips due to the fact that I am already on Lipitor for high cholesterol. Any ideas on how y’all managed to stop the coke intake I’d be happy to hear.
Were you able to get your nap in, I try to get one when I can. I get up between 5:30-6:00 get the three older ones up and out the door for school. Then I get James up at 8 to go to work. Well this morning the 2 youngest ones were still asleep after he left so I decided to lay down on the sofa and took a little nap. They didn’t get up until 10 so I had a nice morning nap.
I don’t think I told y’all but I had to change the stats on my siggy line. I bought a new scale the other one belonged to my MIL and I think it was older than me. Anyways we all got on it and weighted and found out the old one was weighing us 10 lighter. So I had to redo the weight amounts. But I did drop 5 pounds somewhere, just don’t ask me where...LOL! I think I should of stuck with the older scale it was nicer to me!!

Good luck to everyone today! I had a great start to my day! I got a compliment from my doctor about all of the weight I've lost since the baby! It made me feel really good. Maybe next year I can floor him about how amazing I look!

Hope everyone has a productive day!!!! Do something that make YOU proud today!

Hi girls!
Busy, busy weekend. I just wanted to comment on the reverse diet. I had never heard of it, but one thing I like to follow sometimes is the eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a pauper. So, really you don't have to change what you are cooking, just change what YOU eat and your portions. So, keep the bfast food at bfast and the dinner food at dinner. Just eat more in the morning and less in the evening. I like to cut out my starchy carbs at dinner and eat more veggies or salad and just a little protein, about 2 oz. THe scale is usually nice to me when I do that:) If the cooking part is difficult for you then try that way.
I am so tired today after my stressful busy weekend. My dh just left w/ the 2 older kids to go to our river house and cut grass and then go to my parents to help my Dad w/ something. So, i put the baby down for a nap and I think I might rest and close my eyes for a minute before tackling this house. So much to do, so little time!
Have a great evening.
Cindi

Hey, I love your explanation of a reverse diet, you can sign me up too, wouldn't that be nice. I've never heard of a reverse diet but it sounds like it would be really hard to stick to and the family dynamic of dinner time does present a problem.
Hope everyones having a great day today! It's sunny hot and beautiful here in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. We are all headed to the pool for the afternoon, even more incentive for me to lose the wieght.

From what I gathered you eat your dinner at Breakfast, Lunch is lunch and small breakfast at dinner time. I think it would be hard for me to do since I have a large family and when I cook it is big and I hate left-overs!! I was just wondering if there was anyone here that had or was trying it.
|
|
|
|
| What's a reverse diet? Does that mean you get to eat everything and do nothing and all of the weight comes off???? Sign me up! Just kidding. I just wanted to say hi to all of the new members! Wow it's really getting busy in here! My name is Brooke, I'm a stay at home mommy of a 13 month old, Kaitlyn. I have always struggled with my weight and I'm really trying this time to do something about that for me and my daughter! I hope everyone has a good day. I'm off to do some yard work which will also take care of my cardio for the day! I hate yard work, but it is a good excercise!

Good morning ladies!
How was y'alls weekend? we decided to paint the kitchen, and we are still not done. We had to remove (scrape & sanded) layers of paint that had been on here for ages. and patch a few holes that were in the walls. I hope we are done with it by this weekend.
As far as the spark part goes I barely had time to eat, not to mention it's so hot here you really don't want to eat when your working outside. I did get on-line a few times and a friend e-mailed me a thing called the reverse diet, has anyone else heard about this or tried it?

| I would love to join this group. I am a SAHM of a 1 month old girl. I lost 34 pounds in the year before getting pregnant and gained 44 during my pregnancy. I have 14 left to lose which I am not all that concerned about. I am more concerned because I almost completely stopped exercising during my pregnancy (for a myriad of reasons) and now find myself in horrible shape and want to get back to where I was.

Hello my name is Cindy. I have 4 girls ages 11, 8, 4, and 1. I saw your little group and think this is the place for me to start. I work third shift on the weekends and watch my niece during the week. My husband and I have been 2gether for 17 years. I have started the year of cindy and was doing great until my husband lost his job to down sizing. I love having him home but he is killing my diet. Of the 15 pounds I have lost I gained 7 back!! I need to start again. I would like to be in your group and your support.

Hello everyone, when I saw the title of this discussion group, I knew I had to join in. I am a stay at home mom with a four year old son and a 38 year old husband who acts just like my 4 year old. I have been at the weight loss game (seriously) now for 3 months. I have been going to the gym 5 days a week and watching my calories, fat, sodium and fiber intake. Oh and of course the infamous 8-10 glasses of water. This is the longest that I have stuck with anything and I worry about when I start to fail again. I really hope that sparkpeople will help. It's great to get advice from real people that are going through the same thing as you are. Thanks, Angela

WOOHOO ME!!!! LOL! I even get a medal.
You have to understand, I really don't like running! Rick is just beaming. He thinks it is so cool. Now he wants me to "train".
Debbie, I'm glad you came over. I know you must have been getting lonely. I sent an email to Randi. I didn't hear back from her. Your seminars sound great. Especially since they worked! We are still going each week & I really do think it is a good thing. I think we are becoming much closer than we had been for awhile. It is so hard to maintain that relationship when you have children!!! especially so many children!!
Oh - update...remember the old woman that Angela thought was being abused in the assisted living? Guess I'll just retell it real quick. My 19 y/o is working p/t at the home. The is a lady there who can't talk. She had a bunch of bruises & Angela questioned it. Management & owners just ignored it. Angela call the lady's son told him her suspisions. Angela questioned the lady by having her point to yes/no answers. She indicated to Angela that she had be hurt, who did it & so on. Still, she was ignored. She was fired when she refused to talk to the manager without being allowed to record the conversation. (Angela wanted to record it because she was sure they were going to try to shut her up. The manager said it wasn't a "recordable" conversation.) Well, to make a long story short, the son called the other day. His mother is in the hospital w/broken ribs. The police are involved & it is being investigated. The detective came her yesterday, but said most likely nothing will come of it since nothing can be "proven". You know, if it was a day care center, it would have already be shut down. The lady is being moved to another home, but who knows if it will be any better.
Cindi - Great news on Evan! I can't even begin to imagine how happy Patty & Steve must be.
Hi Brooke, Jen, Maria, Kellyann, Renee - oh, Renee, I was reading some older posts - about finding time to exercise. You just have to make the time. Even if it means getting up 1/2 hour earlier. If you make yourself do it, then it can become a habit. Maybe even look into some things that you can do as a family sometimes. i.e. taking a long walk, playing tag or soccer with the kids, etc. As you make it a part of your life, it just becomes easier. Then, when you exercise, you have more energy & feel better.
Better get back to my books. Opps...I think I didn't say hi to Michelle & Kelly. HI!!
Have a great weekend.

Good Evening! I have a semi quiet evening. My friend called to see if she could pick up Sarah to go out to dinner w/ them and of course I said yes. I got her ready and she left w/out Daniel even noticing. He still hasn't asked where she is. He did ask where Lance was and I said napping. I guess he is used to being home w/out her during the day, so when she gets home he will say, where were you?lol Boys, not as observant as girls, a good thing sometimes.
My day started off crazy. Lance woke up the same time as the rest of us, so i had to feed him before getting Sarah ready, so that put us a bit behind. Danny came home last night, but had to leave again this morning, so he took her to school. I couldn't even remember what day it was, so I almost forgot Sarah's homework, so she was doing it and running out the door. Barely made it to school on time. Then Patty called to thank me for cleaning her house, it was a total surprise. As I was talking to her I was trying to get ready and get Daniel ready to go to the gym. I am running out the door late for the gym and am driving down the road when I realize Daniel had school today and was supposed to be there 1/2 hour ago. SO, I had to take him to school instead of going to the gym. So, I went to WalMart to get a couple things I needed and planned to make the end of the class which was the toning portion. NOPE! Missed that too! So, I picked up Daniel, picked up Sarah, in the pouring rain, came home and did an hour on the t/m!! I was so excited. I knew if I didn't do that I would never get my exercise in today.
So, plan for tonight is to get the main floor cleaned and do a couple loads of laundry to stay caught up on that and then do my toning exercises. I will prob. clean all day tomorrow because once I(if I) finish the house, I have a yard, garage and van to clean! Too much to do. SO, I'm sitting here.lol Whenever I get all the kids settled and quiet I just want to sit quietly myself for a bit before cleaning and stuff. THen it seems I never get to it because someone gets up or wants something or I just get too tired. But, I will make myself tonight!! I will clean til 2 am if I have to just to get this place cleaned up! It is supposed to be sunny tomorrow, so I want to work outside tomorrow.
Michelle~Sorry, about Kirk's uncle.{{{HUGS}}}
Debbie~I wish I had time to come down there this weekend w/ Danny. Have fun tonight.
Kathy~Good Luck w/ your test!!
Oh, I almost forgot. I don't know when I last updated you all with Evan, but they started him on baby food this week, eating fruits from a spoon and took some formula in a bottle. He is still off the ventilator and the kidney dr. has released him. He is still in the PICU, but could be released from the hospital in a couple weeks. He will then go to a rehab facility for 2-3 weeks, so I won't be able to include him in Lance's first bday party, May 13th. That would have been nice. Oh well, I am sure we will have a big party when he comes home.
Hi to everyone else. I need to get off here before I lose my motivation or before one of the kids need something.

Hi everyone! Thanks, Cindi, for helping me find all of you! I was getting lonely over at ediets! lol For everyone here who is new...I am Debbie, SAHM of Ashlyn(8), Drake (7) and Isabella(4). I homeschool the kids so I am super busy. I joined ediets about 3 years ago when I lived in CO, lost 30#'s, and came w/in 1 pound of my goal weight. I then slowly started gaining again. I'm currently at 134 and need to be at 122 or lower. Oh, and we also now live in a little town in middle TN due to a job change.
My dh & I just finished an 8 week marriage class that was excellent. It was a nice "tune up" that really recharged our marriage. We are also finishing FPU(Financial Peace University) through Dave Ramsey this Sunday. It will be nice to have all of these little classes over with. I also started jazzercise about a month ago and I LOVE it! I'm sure I look a little dorky out there, but I just don't care. I want to be back in shape so bad and now that life is starting to settle down a bit, I feel like I have a chance.
I need to scoot. I am taking Ashlyn to a friend's house for a sleepover, and then we are going out to dinner with the parents. It will be nice to have a kidless date night! Have a great weekend everyone!
Debbie P.S. Kelley you look awesome in your profile! Good to see you again! Hey, are you still making the candles? Also, hugs to you, Michelle! I hope your day gets better.

Jen nailed it. We have to do this journey for US. No one else can take credit for what we do. I promise, once you REALLY and TRULY set your mind to do this, and you start dropping the weight, losing weight will be so much easier. When you see that scale going down, nothing will stop you.
Dh's uncle passed away Wednesday. The service is today. I really thought 2 yrs ago when we had 4 funerals that year that we would be fine for a while. His uncle has been battling with alcoholism all his life and finally lost the war.
AND Kade woke up w/fever this morning. And my mom is out of town. I have no sitter lined up for him. And it's POURING outside. I need happy thoughts right now b/c this negative attitude is doing me no good.
Hey to everybody! I'll be back w/personals later.

Hi CIndi,
Thanks for the history of the group. How neat that you all came over from ediets together, now that's a great support group.
I know you can reach your goal by his first birthday and that pool party. It sounds like your making a really good effort to reach it. I have started taking five minutes of my day to sit calm and quiet with my eyes closed and visulize myself thin and my life with my girls and husband, this has given me lots on inspiration.
Yeah, twenty years, I can't believe it either. It's up in the Poconos in Pennsylvania in November. I just want to be much thinner and healthier for my husband. I don't want him showing up with me anywhere near the weight I am now, yikes!
Hope your having a great day.

Hi Ladies, I am new at this, just tought I'd share this with you...I am a mother of 6, 5 daughters and 1 son (the baby, 19mths). it took me a while but I have returned to my pre-pregnancy weight. It has been very hard but I did it. I workout 6 days a week from home, with the kids around me, I let them play in the basement and I do my thing, I follow Cindy Wittmarsh's book, I eat very well...cheats sometimes but over all I have a pretty good control over what I eat, thats the only way to achieve this. My husband thinks I am crazy but I find the time to workout no mather what.
|
|
|
|
Do you have a DVD? I love dancing and aerobics and the library by me has a bunch for free (provided I return them on time). That's one low maintenance way and you can return one's that aren't for you and find ones that are. Then if you like something you maybe can find it cheap on ebay. PS It just now is warm enough to walk outside with out catching pneumonia where I'm from so I'm very jealous!!!
|
|
|
|
Thank you for all the warm welcomes!!
Today is a crazy one for me. My daughter Channa (#3) is going in for dental sergery in the morning. Well she has to have a pre-op physical done today, no problem I made an appointment last week with her doctor, well they call this morning and need to reschedule because there was an emergency and the doctor won't be in, and the doctor is the only one that can do it. So now I have to take her to Texas Medclinic to have it done and they are by walk-in only, I know I'm going to be there forever. I think I will let James take her when he gets home this afternoon.
I'm doing good so far on my daily goals, it's just the exercising one that's so hard to do. I love to walk but it's just too darn hot outside to even think about walking. I think I am going to have to go treadmill shopping. Does anyone have one that they really love? I am kinda wanting to find one that fold up, there's not much room in our "new to us" 70+ old farm house (we are planning to remodel the whole thing).
What kind of exercising do y'all do? I live out in the country so there are no gyms near by for me to go to.
|
|
|
|
| It's something I struggle with all of the time and I'm sure many crazed mothers out there deal with. Wanting to just relax and put the blame elsewhere. I know when I actually do what I'm suppossed to do (work out and eat right) I feel amazing and I want to take credit for it and any weight I've lost. I guess the same must hold true for when I don't do what I'm suppossed to do. I think that might be my key to losing this weight that I too have struggled with my whole life.
|
|
|
|
I get that! Bottom line we have to do it for ourselves because no one else is accountable for what we do or don't do for our bodies and our health. I was getting ready to blame my husband for some mishaps this morning, but I realized from your post- that its me.Me. My success my struggle... when it comes down to it, thats who it will effect first. In the long run or maybe the short one, it will effect those around me... my son, my husband...
But I need this. Hubby doesn't need me to do this for him. I need this. I need it and I want it... so there! Ok pesky pounds--- away with you!
|
|
|
|
| I totally understand your problem. I only have one (two if you count my husband)and lately I've been hitting that obstacle of not wanting to excercise when I can and should. My husband and I were working out together which really helped. Unfortunately he's been working alot more hours and so that has been cut down. I really just try to talk to myself and tell myself I have to do it. It's amazing what a little internal monologue can do.

I have two beautiful daughters one is two the other 9 months. I can't imagine some of you out there with more children How in the world do you do it???? Lots of credit to you I'm finding myself going crazy home all day with them. Don't get me wrong I love them dearly... With them in my hair all day and taking care of my hubby at night I find that I have no desire to exercise when it's finally "my time". Any suggestions???? Hope you all have a great day.. Hi Kellyann! Welcome!
I am Cindi, a 36 yr old mother of 3. My baby is about to turn 1 in a few weeks. I was planning to be at goal by then, so we'll see how I do these next 3 weeks. I have my goal as 140, but would really like to get to 135.
Several of us just moved over here from Ediets.com. Everyone's memberships there were expiring, so we all came here. So, several of us have known ea. for a few years and some of us got to meet about a yr. and a half ago in TX.
Anyway, my weightloss journey started when my second child was born. After he was a few months I started at 179 and didn't get down to 146 until right before I got preg. w/ my 3rd baby. Actually, I gained almost 10 lbs right before getting preg. I got up to 210 right before delivering then I was down to 190 after the baby was born. Since it was my last baby I got serious this time. I started doing yoga and watching my food intake, but I was breastfeeding, so I had to be careful w/ my calories. By the time he was 6 mo. old I was back down to 146 then came the holidays, etc. I have fluctuated up and down 5lbs since then. But, now I am ready to get serious and lose these last 5-10 lbs. I was hoping to before his first bday and will do my best to get as low as I can, but I have an ultimate goal of being there by 4th of July which will be year since the dr. gave me the ok to start exercising. SO, to me that is officially a year. Plus, we always go to a pool party for the 4th and I want to be in really good shape by then. That is my story.
Good luck w/ your journey. I class reunion has always been motivation for me!lol I will have my 20th coming up next year. WOW! I can't believe that, 20 yrs. AMAZING! How time flies. Makes me want to hold on to my babies and never let them go:)
Have a great night and let us know if we can do anything to help you in your journey.
Cindi

Hi,
I saw this message board and the topic said everything I'm hoping to be. I am a 35 year old wife and mother of two little girls and live in South Carolina. I'm looking for some buddies to help support me in this crazy battle of the buldge.
I have been a member of SPARKPEOPLE for about two months, but am just now getting serious. I think it has something to do with the warmer weather and my husband's upcoming twenty year class reunion coming up in November. I would also like to get healthy for my girls and be a good role model to them.
How long have you guys been a member and how's your journey with weight loss going, I hope great.

Good Morning!
I am getting ready to go to the gym. Last night Dad offered to pick up Sarah and take her to school for me so I didn't have to get the boys up and out that early. So, I let him. Thank goodness because Daniel didn't get up til afte 8am and Lance is still sleeping! I am going to have to wake him up to go to the gym.
I stayed away from the chocolate yesterday. I don't even want any today, so far.lol I was starving when I woke up. I didn't get to bed last night as early as I had wanted to, so I am tired again today and have to watch Alexa today. I don't mind watching her, but I am usually tired when she is here and I want to nap, but don't.
I woke up this morning and straightened the kitchen and family room. I need to give them a good cleaning today. My whole house needs it but I think I will do 2 rooms today and laundry and then do 2 more tomorrow and try to get it done that way.
It stormed here last night and woke me up w/ a startle. I hate waking up that way. It was so loud I just laid there waiting for the kids to come crying to my bed, but NO ONE woke up. I was shocked. Even Lance slept through it. Today the sun is back out, so I am hoping the kids will play outside instead of messing up what I am cleaning.
Michelle~Happy belated Anniversary!!
Kathy~Congrats on getting into Nursing school(unofficially). That is great the kids are participating in the run. My kids love to run too. Sarah will run from our house all the way to the pool if I let her. I make her stay w/ me and the boys. She is a fast little girl.
Jen~I am still breastfeeding. I have a pooch on my belly that doesn't seem to want to go away. I am hoping it will as I lose more weight, but I am wondering if it will hang around til I stop b/fing or if it is just loose skin.YUCK! I think b/fing is what is helping me to lose my weight faster this time. With my second I didn't try too hard, but this time it seems to be happening a little faster. I am definitely more determined this time.
I hear crying! Better go get him ready to go.

STEP AWAY FROM THE CHOCOLATE!!!!!!!!
I made our house fail-proof. I bought only a very tiny bit of candy & made sure there was none left over. It worked!
Maria - welcome. Your kids are adorable! Loved that picture on your page! I have 6, but they are more spread out in age. From 19 - 6. I know what you mean about running after them...WHY AREN"T WE SKINNY ALREADY!?!?!?
How is everyone doing? I got great news yesterday. As I was heading into my microbiology class, my Anatomy professor from the past 2 semesters call me into his office. He told me that I made it into the nursing program!! He told me "off the record". Official notification doesn't go out till next week, so I have to keep quiet about it at school. I think it will be easy to keep quiet anyway...there were over 250 people applying & only 70 taken. I have tutored some of the people who probably won't make it. It is a big relief, but I have a feeling that the past year has been easy in comparison with what will come. I just wish it was over with!! Horrible to wish ones life away....
Tonight is the big race...Main street mile. Hayley and Elisabeth have been "training". They are doing great. Even Hayley is able to Jog for a mile! She is very excited about getting her medal, t-shirt & icecream after the race! Aaron won't be able to make it. He got a job & has to work. Too bad, because he is really fast & probably would have placed in his age group. So, besides Aaron, Stephanie is the only one not participating.
Just realized the time. Better go comb the little girls' hair before it is bus time. Then its time to study for a Stats exam tomorrow.
Have a great day. Eat healthy...drink water & do some exercise!!
Kathy

Kelly~it rained at MG anyways. People still got wasted though. LOL So, you sold your house? Were you sad? I can't wait to hear more about it all. Is your phone number the same? Mine is.....hint hint. tee hee
I had a mom of one of my kids from MDO ask me today if i've lost weight. I have a little, actually. I was just wearing slendering shorts though.
Today is my wedding anniversary. 8 years. :) I sent him a balloon bouquet w/a bunch of snackies and red bulls. He got me a new cell phone. It's a pink RAZR. I love it!! He totally surprised me.
It's totally beach weather here now. My cousin wants to go tomorrow. Too bad I have Mount Washmore I have to conquer tomorrow. Gosh, I wish we had a pool.
Time for bed now!
See y'all tomorrow!!

Good Evening!
I am off to bed. I was hoping to get there earlier, but didn't do it. I did have a great day today. I got an hour walk outside in the beautiful weather w/ my boys. And I stayed op all day. I fixed myself a grilled chicken salad for dinner. NOT ONE BITE OF ANYTHING NOT OP!! I am so proud of myself. When I do well I think, why can't I do it all the time. It doesn't make sense to me. Oh, well one good day down. If I keep it up the scale will reward me.
I hope everyone had a great day. I am off to bed.

I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Marla and I am a SAHM that WILL be skinny by my 34th birthday 9-22!
I have 5 rugrats 1 boy & 4 girls ages 13, 10, 6, 5 & 3! You would think as much as I chase them around I would be as thin as a rail, but for some reason that just isn't the case.
I can't wait to get to know all of you and have someone that I can relate to.

We all do it, but I think it's good to confess it or it just becomes a dirty little secret and you have no incentive to stop and no encouragement because no one knows! I had a McFlurry yesterday! I just craved ice cream so bad!!! I didn't eat much after that, but still!!! Let's all try harder together!!

Cindi- Your confession made me smile... thank you for your candidness... I have one too... I weighed in... I am back up 2 lbs.
OUCH! I know weight lifint those chocolate eggs this weekend didn't help... but, do not be discouraged... ".... you can do all things through Christ Jesus who stregnthens you..." including kicking that chocolate attack out your back door! Have a great night.

Confession time!
I did great all day!!! Then tonight I was cleaning the kitchen and I guess I decided to clean out the chocolate too!lol I just had a little then figured I better get rid of it so I don't do the same tomorrow. Guess I figured my mouth was the garbage can. I didn't finish it because it made me sick. SO, I am sticking it in the kids baskets. IF it is in there I won't touch it! So, I also figured that since I was going to do the t/m tonight a little choc. wouldn't hurt. Well, Mom called and then Sarah got up and next thing I know it is too late to do the t/m because I want to get to bed a little early. So, here I am. I am off to bed, but wanted to confess first. NO MORE CHOCOLATE!! I will do bettter tomorrow. I am going to go write out a plan and a fitness schedule for the week. Then stick w/ it.
Kelly~Good to see you again. I need to find out where you are living now. I know about where, but not exactly. Where are the kids going to school now? Maybe we could walk the park together some this summer. Or do something together at least.
I am off to bed.

Good Morning!!
I just home from the gym. I LOVE that class. Has anyone else done Ashtanga yoga? It is such a great workout. I have gotten a couple comments lately on how tone my arms are looking. YEA! That is my goal! Now, I really need to relose the weight I just gained. I was up to 148 this morning. That is up from my lowest of 142 which I hit right before the baby died. So, I have been going upwards since then. So, today I recommitted for 3 weeks of being very strict. I started this morning and so far so good. I did yoga and plan to do the t/m too. That is my plan!
Today I did weight and measurements to start off and eventhough I was up 1 lb. from the last time I did weight and measurements, my measurements were smaller!! That made me feel great. I just wish I knew what my measurements were when I was down to 142. So, my goal in 3 weeks is to be down below 142 to make my new lowest, well my lowest was 141.6, but I just say 142, so I want to be below that and then redo my measurements. Lance will be 1 in 3 1/2 weeks and my goal was to be in the 130's by then, so that is my real goal.
Kathy~Your time on that 5k was great. I am not much of a runner, although I have tried it in the past and liked it, but I like to run/walk. Maybe one day I will get into running again. Don't worry about the scale, what do your measurements say? I was shocked to see how much I had lost in measurements, yet the scale was up.
TJSMommy~Sorry, I can't remember your name. I will look it up after I post this. I did bad w/ the chocolate this weekend too!! So, today I start fresh! You can too. I have too much chocolate in my house right now and that is my weakness, but I have passed on it in the past and will again. I WILL NOT DIP INTO THE CHOCOLATE FOR 3 WEEKS! I have to keep telling myself that. I am hoping it is all gone by then. I looked it up, sorry Jen.
I have good news. My stomach started bothering me Saturday and it hurt yesterday, but I just kept trying to make myself relax and it isn't hurting today! I am sooo excited. I think it definitely has a lot to do w/ stress. That and I drank my sea salt and water yesterday, so I think that helped clear it out.lol
I am finished my my meal, so I better hit the laundry.
Take Care, Cindi

Thanks for the applause, Jen! I can use it!
The way I figure it, NOW is my time. I have to be successful. I just turned 44 and it will only get harder to reach my goal.
I went to the gym & did step/weights class this a.m. Went to wake up Angela to go with me, she just grunted & rolled back over! LOL
Anyway...still working on the paper. I have 4 pages out of 6 finished. It really should not be such a big deal!!Don't know why I just can't knock it out & be finished...UGH.......
Got laundry going also. Justin has baseball practice at 3. If it's ok with the coach, I'll just drop him off & come back home. Since I didn't cook yesterday, I have ham & fresh sweet potatoes that I need to fix. I also cut up a huge fruit salad, so I don't think there will be too many other side dishes. Help to keep me honest!
Talk to you later. Kathy

Good Morning.
Hope everyone had a great weekend. We did. Actually, we started on Thursday! We had an appointment downtown & then went out to dinner. Funny...now I can't remember what we did on Friday. Sat. a.m. Rick & I ran a 5k that was raising scholarship money for the local high school. It was in honor of a boy from there that died. He was a friend of Angela's. I decreased my time - which surprised me because the route was so hilly & the final 1/2 mile was a horrible hill! I was 27.49. Then we took the kids to a community Easter Egg hunt. It was fun. 4H was there with a bunch of bunnies. Sat. eve. Angela kept the kiddo's & Rick & I took Winston & did a 10K walk that went thru Johns Hopkins University, Loyola College & that area. It was beautiful with all the trees in bloom & spring flowers. Got plenty of exercise that day! Topped it off with carryout Chinese on the way home! LOL Sunday was Rick's b-day. We went to brunch. Then we had a nice jog with the little kids. We are all(everyone except Stevie) running a mile race on Wed. evening. It raises money for our little town.
You know the craziest thing...this happened to me before, too. You'd think all this exercise would melt the pounds away, but I am about 4 pounds heavier since I started working our regularly! I know the scales aren't everything, but it is still discouraging!
I am going this a.m. to the gym with Angela. She is moving back to Canada on May 13.
Better go. I have lots to do in this last day off school.
Have a great day, skinnies!

Good morning ladies! I realized after reading everyone's messages that I never really introduced myself. My name is Brooke and I'm a stay at home mommy to one little girl, Kaitlyn who just turned a year old two weeks ago. I've never been thin and really just want to experience it once!!! I'm planning on having one more myself, but getting pregnant the first time wasn't as easy as I'd hoped partly because of my weight! I had to lose weight to get pregnant. I weigh less now than I did before I got pregnant, but it is a struggle. My husband and I are working on our weight together. My dream is to be 150 by my birthday, but as I said the other day I'd be happy with half of my goal which would be around 170. I welcome all of the new mommies and look forward to talking to all of you!!!

Hi Janet! Welcome!
I'm Kathy. I live next door to you in Maryland. Where in PA are you? We are about 30 minutes from Gettysburg. I can really relate to what you are going through. 3 of my children were early & in the NICU. The earliest was 27 weeks and 2lb 2 oz. (She is 19 now!!) I am in school now. I have finished (this semester) my prereqs & will hear next week if I was accepted into the nursing program. There are only 70 spots & over 250 applicants!YIKES!!!! I am trying not to worry!
By the way, you've done a good job getting down to 164. Keep at it & you'll get there!!
Cindi- I figured out how to change to profile picture. Go to edit profile & then there is a place that says change profile image. It's easy when you know where to look!
Can you believe how big my puppy is now?!?! We had him shaved. He is much lower maintenance now. I think he looked cuter with all his fur, but I know he was getting hot & the kids think he is cuter without it. Well, we can actually see his face now!.
Well, I "started" working on my paper 45 minutes ago & still haven't opened Word! LOL Better go.

Hi all! Can a want to be skinny mom join this discussion? Just a quick intro for me and then I'm off to get my daughters breakfast. My name is Janet & I live in Pennsylvania. I married my Highscool sweetheart in June of 2000 and this March we had been together 10 years. November of 2004 I gave birth to my suprise miracle baby Jade. (I didn't find out I was preggers until I was 5 mo pregnant, and had her at 31 weeks to my 2lb-10oz girl.) I loved my job and was planning on going back part-time but after 7 weeks in the NICU my life changed course. I quit my job to stay home and plan on going back to college part-time in the fall for my nursing degee. I went from 137 to 195 during the course of my pregnancy and so far have managed to get down to 164. I would like to get back to pre-pregnacy weight but I want to have at least one more kid so we'll see. My main goal is to eat healther and exersize.

Good morning.
Michelle - glad you found us...finally. We missed your smiling face! I wish we could go running together too! We have a 5k race on Sat. I haven't decided if I am going to do it or not.
Jen - 10 pounds is a good start. You'll get there! I like your pictures on your page. Cute!
Rick & I we downtown yesterday afternoon. We are doing joint counseling & then we went out to dinner by the harbor. It was really nice. After dinner we just walked around some. I love spring. All the trees were flowering & it smelled so good.
My dinner choice wasn't too diet friendly, but oh so yummy. It was some kind of chicken enchilada.
Cindi - What's the latest on Evan? I was reading, but didn't post much when you were updating. Hope he is still improving. Did you cry when Patti cut Lance's hair? I remember doing that. LOL
Off to get some coffee. I slept in today. Hayley just came down. She has a stuffy nose, but is ready for breakfast. She wants to eat as soon as she gets up!
Have a great day.

HEY GIRLS!!! I found you. Thank you Kathy! And what is that something ella and whateverphila. LOL
KELLLLLYYYYY BELLLLYYYY!!! HOW ARE YOU???? My gosh, you come visit me, then fall off the face of the earth. LOL You missed Mardi Gras. OK, you're coming in 2007, k? And whoever else too for that matter.
It's good to see all these familiar faces here.
Let me introduce myself to the ones I don't know. I'm Michelle, 32, SAHM to 2 boys 6 & 4. I will be married 8 years next week. I live in Texas, where Hurricane Rita hit. Hurricane season starts in June, eek! I've lost 25 lbs, and would like to lose another 8. Those last pesky pounds are the hardest. Especially since we were evacuated for 6 weeks, and eating out ALL.THE.TIME, I gained back some, and am currently losing those again. I'm down to 144 again, so whew!
Kathy~I'm so proud of you for running. I wish we lived closer so I could have a running buddy.
OK, boys have a game in 1 hr. Gotta go start getting ready.
BBL! Michelle

| TJSMOMMY, Don't get discouraged. Keep trying to get him down and it'll happen just stay consistent. My daughter (1 year old) was like that for what seemed like an eternity. Now although it doesn't work perfectly I usually can lay her down during her usual nap time and she's out. Lately I've been using that time to work out. Remember to you can include them in your working out. walking and lifting them is quite a work out especially as they get bigger. If he's still not cooperating just include him. Also I've heard that some mom's with older babies particularly, only eat what they would or are feeding their baby. We obviously try not to give our kids junk food so that might help too! We're all in this together so let us know how we might help!

Hey Cindi! I applaud you. Home with three! WOW. New at this, home with one- 7months old and refuses to be put down to sleep. This is driving me crazy- making it hard for me to sleep and slowing down my progress. I am trying really hard not get discouraged. It's nice to read about you and your success so far. Keep it up. I know it will be worth it.

Good morning.
It's a rainy day here. I couldn't sleep...go figure. Nobody to get off to school, so who is wide awake at the crack of dawn!!! GRRRR
I am going to try finishing up my paper today. It is on Legionnaires' disease. Oh boy...I know you all are excited...
I got an email from Michelle. She couldn't find us, so I sent her a "map". Hope you find us!!
Brooke, Cindi is right. Keep at it. Don't get discouraged (easier said than done). Support is what helps & we're all here for that. Like Cindi, I am almost at my goal, but I am having a very hard time with the final few!
Cindi - I'm not sure how to move/delete pictures either. I played around with it a bit, but haven't had more time for it. I do like that feature of being able to put pictures up.
Becky - What happened to you?? Come on back & check in!
Guess Jocelyn is getting ready for the big move. I got an email that she had signed up here too, but guess she hasn't had time to post.
Hi Kelly. I'm going to try to give you a call again before school starts back up. Are you on your spring break now?
I'm going to go refill my coffee & get to work on my Legionella pneumophila. LOL

I finally figured out how to do my sparkpage, but am not sure how to change the pictures. Once I figured out how to do my profile pic(which I hope to have a new one after moving my pics from my camera) I wanted to remove it from the other pics on my page, but it just added it instead of replacing it. I don't have anymore time to mess w/ it. SO, if anyone knows how to help me out, let me know.
Brooke~You have the right attitude. Just keep plugging along. Babysteps, commitment, consistency and persistence is what it is all about. Just keep going and one day you WILL reach your goal.

Hey Kathy, we posted at the same time. I am hoping to get on here more. It isn't like me to go so long w/out posting. But, I am really wanting to work on getting stuff done around her, especially after being gone for almost a week. It seems like every morning I get up, get Sarah off to school, feed the boys, get them and myself dressed, get to the gym, do some running, come home and eat, then it is time to get Sarah and them I am off again doing something else. Things should settle down soon. I don't know we will see. With school coming close to an end it seems I will be busier. But, at least I won't have to go pick up the kids, so I will prob. stay home more, except when I go to the gym. I just need to make a schedule. It is hard though. I know you know what it is like. Schedules are hard to follow w/ kids. SOmething always seems to come up.
Well, I got off on a tangent there.lol
Hope Angela finds another job soon.
I am sore too. I did Ashtanga yoga 2 days in a row. I am wondering if I should be doing that. I can't next week because Daniel has a school thing Tues. night, but most weeks I will try to do it and see if I am still as sore. I need a good ab workout. I did a bunch of crunches last night, but my abs don't hurt at all. I have a hard time getting them sore. Maybe I need to go to a good ab class.
I gotta get off here.

Good Afternoon!
I have been busy since getting back from Boston. Today is my first day to be home and have time to sit down and relax. Well, not relax, I have a lot to do around here, but I am allowing myself time to sit. I am having lunch and then have to get going on the laundry so I can stay caught up. My Mom did so well keeping the house cleaned and laundry done. So, I want to tackle it before it gets overwhelming.
Kathy~Congrats on joining the gym. Glad you are enjoying it. I have been every day this week, since I only exercised twice last week while out of town. I actually saw the inside of the fitness room at the hotel:) The scale wasn't as bad as I had thought it would be. I was up a little before I left, so I was actually down a lb. from the day I left to go out of town. Amazing! I am at 147 right now. I am hoping I have a lot of water weight to lose. I am so afraid of Easter. I LOVE Easter candy. I will have to be sure to keep my candy buying to a minimum like I usually do. I can't believe they fired Angela for that. Good for her though. That is crazy. Is this the first time she has noticed anything like that or is it happening too often?
Begrill~What is your first name? Good luck getting to your goal by your birthday. When is it? Anything we can do to help you let us know.
So, where is Michelle? Has she made it over here yet? Has anyone heard from her?
I have Alexa today. Evan's kidney drs. have said he no longer needs them. That is wonderful news, but he went back on the ventilator last week and then was taken off of it and now is on a Bipap machine, but is being weaned off of it. So, hopefully, his lungs will start working better soon and they can start him on a bottle and get him home soon. I don't know if he will make it home by Lance's bday or not.
Patty gave Lance his first haircut today. It looks so cute. He looks like a little boy now, instead of a baby:( I wanted to wait, but he really needed one, so I wanted to do it before Easter. I promise I will get pics out soon. Danny is out of town all next week, so maybe I will get stuff done then.
I hope everyone has a wonderful op day!!

Hello.
I'm talking to myself, but that's ok!
I am so sore today! The Pilates class was fun, but hard. My abs are so sore, but a good sore! Today, my girls want me to go to the gym with them, which I intended to do, but I think I need a day off from that. I went running last night - didn't do the whole 3 miles, but did 1 1/2. Today, I cut the lawn with the push mower. I am not finished yet, but need to take Aaron to pick up his friend & to drop off a job application.
Did I tell you that he got his learners permit? YIKES!!! So, he definately needs a job. There is a convenience store/gas station within walking/biking distance looking for help, but he does not want to work there. I told him he has to apply. When he gets his license, he can have more options. I can't commit to being available to drive him to/from work.
Social services & bureau of aging is now involved in the abuse allegations at Angela's job. The woman's son is being very supportive of Angela, but that doesn't give her a pay check. I know they could be forced to give her her job back, but she says she won't work there anymore. I really don't blame her. I wouldn't want to work for someone who covers up abuse of helpless old people!
Better go.
Think skinny & make wise choices!! : )
Have a great day.

I must be a geek too! LOL
I love my micro class! The professor is amazing. We don't have a textbook. He wrote his own lab manual, so books for this class cost on $8. He said it is his job to teach, not assign textbook readings. He puts everything on the board that we are responsible for. Lots of notetaking, but so interesting!
Angela just got fired from her job! Long story, I'll fill in after the gym. She works in an assisted living & questioned bruises on an old woman. The owner & manager brushed her off, so she called the son. Last night she got a message that her shift was covered & to be at a meeting at 9 this a.m. I told her to take my little recorder & tape it. The manager told her it was not a recordable conversation & Angela told her she wasn't going to have a conversation then. So...she was invited to leave the property & told not to contact either house. She is now in the process of contacting Social Services & Elder Abuse hotline. To be continued......
It's never dull here!!!!!!!!!!!
BBL. Off to the gym

Good luck with all of your tests/reports ladies!! I know that's when I always want to eat is when I'm studying. Old habit from college!!! Micro, anatomy and psychology are all classes I took too so I really feel for you although personally I loved micro! I'm a geek like that. I feel that I'm slowly getting back on track. Since it's finally nice outside I've been going for a walk with my daughter. I think it's good for her too. We've been locked up like prisoners for three months at least so now it's time to get outside. Today is suppossed to be 70! I'm so excited! Well have a good day everyone. Good luck with the Pilates kathy!

Good morning. I am up & at it early this a.m. We had that red cross dinner last night & I took the metro (subway) downtown to meet hubby. We forgot to stop & pick up the van on our way home, so at 4:30 this morning I went with him on his way to work to pick up the van!! Now, I am ready to start my day.
Kelly, I feel for you girl!! I am supposed to be doing a research paper for Microbiology! That is the only one I have this semester. Thank goodness!! I really intend to get most of it done this week. I just realized yesterday that this is spring break! DUH!! Sometimes I amaze myself with my intelligence! LOL
The kids have off Wed - Mon.
I am feeling the effects of my workouts. I love that "I know I've been exercising" feeling. Today, I plan on taking a Pilates class. I've never done that before.
Have a great day. I'm going to get started on my microbes!!

Hey gals. I don't have time to respond personally to all..sorry for that. I'll have to get back in the groove of that! LOL. I have been running around like mad for the last week or so. I just got my taxes done tonight...ugh...there's one large monkey off my back. Unfortunately refunds AFTER divorce...suck!! Oh well. I also hadn't balanced my checkbook (put in debits, etc) since March 17th! LOL...so that was long overdue! And then of course I have 3 research papers that are due within the next 2 weeks and tests coming up soon in dev. psychology and anatomy. UGH! So..time is hard to find right now for me. Not to mention my marykay lady is trying to get me to sell under her..IS SHE INSANE???? OMG!!! I hate the pressure and all that comes with that crap! Anyway..I'm doing ok in the eating department...I just need to get my fat butt movin!! The girls and I went out for a while tonight with the dog...but it wasn't for very long. Oh well...I guess I'll need to get a sitter if I want to walk the neighborhood! LOL! Have a great day gals...chat soon!

Hello.
I think if I had to pick, early morning would be better than late at night. It is so hard to climb out of bed, but then you have your exercise finished and the whole day ahead of you!! We'll be here to give you the push & kick in the backside!! : )
I just got home from the gym. I did a step & ab class. I didn't realize how much I missed it!! This is my spring break, so I hope to go every day this week. In addition to the running with Justin & Rick, hopefully I'll be able to get rid of this flab that loves me so much!
Tonight I am supposed to meet Rick for a Red Cross dinner. For those who don't "know" us, My husband volunteered for 3 weeks after Katrina (I was ready to kill him...he could help at the disaster at home!) Anyway, it was a good experience for him & he has become a certified instructor for CPR, first aid & whatever else they teach. He will be able to keep all the necessary personnel certified for his company's numerous locations & just does random classes to keep in practice. I took his last class & became cpr & first aid certified. I needed it for Brownies/Daisies. Each troop needs a certified person at every meeting/event. Helps when there are more than one!! So, tonight is an appreciation dinner. It will be nice to get out...without any of the kids.
Better go. I am still in my stinky gym clothes & Hayley is asking for lunch. Bad mommy.
See you later.
Kathy

Glad to hear you got an opportunity to go away with your husband. It's hard to do with my one. I can only imagine what it's like to do it with three. I'm trying to get back onto my plan as well. I've had a couple of weeks of just being off. We had our little one's first bday party last week and that really killed me. Plus my husband is starting a new company which means he works all the time which means I have very little time to work out. That is really killing me. I guess I either have to work out at night or early in the morning. Neither of which sound appealing. Well it's nice to meet everyone and I'll keep you updated on my struggle back up hill.

Hi Cindi.
Glad you had a great trip, just you and Danny. I know what you mean about missing the kids, but I am really ready for that!
I went prom dress shopping with Stephanie today. She found a really pretty dress, but is going to think about it. They will hold it for her until next weekend. I am going to go back to that same store, it is called Cache. They are going to help me find some nice outfits that aren't too young, but aren't frumpy. You know, sometimes a girl wants to look a bit sexy, but not sleezy. There is a fine line there when you reach my age!!!!!
We had our joint session on Wed. I'll have to tell you all about it when I have time. NExt one is Thursday.
We went to the local fire hall for the oyster roast. I don't like oysters, but they had ham/turkey, mashed pot./ sour kraut, beans, applesauce. So...I don't have to cook! I had turkey. It tasted so good. We are going to go for a run later. Yesterday, Rick & I did a 12K hike outside DC. It was fun, but it did start raining. Still, it was nice. Last night, he & Justin did a 5k run. Justin placed 2nd in the age 20 and below!! He got just under 25 minutes! He was pretty excited. He got a cool medal & his name announced. The fastest woman was 22 minutes. When I did the race last week, I did 28.10 minutes. Oh yeah, I joined a gym, so my goal is to go on M,W & F when I don't have school. I would like to go T, TH evenings, but I know that won't happen. I WILL GET TO 140!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am stuck now between 147 & 149.
I still haven't used much of this site. Hopefully over spring break...if I have my paper finished, I can spend time seeing what all is here.
Hi to everyone else. Look forward to getting to know everyone. We have a great time together!!
Kelly, come back soon!! And Becky...you started this thread! Where'd you disappear to? LOL

Hello!
I have been out of town since last Tues. I missed my babies soooo much. It was so good to see them. I don't even want to get on that scale tomorrow morning. I need to see what the damage is. I enjoyed myself though and that is what matters. Danny and I had some much needed alone time. Well, not totally alone, we were with 3 other couples most of the time. BUt, we got didn't have kids in our room, so we got a good night's sleep.
I need to figure out how to do the profile page. I guess when I have "extra" time I will do that.
Hi Kelly! Great to "see" you. I can't believe we probably live about 10 min. from each other and never get together. You need to let me know what your schedule is and maybe one day we can do a healthy lunch:) You do look great. It will be fun for us to get together when Kathy is in town. We will have to do pedicures or something.
Kathy~I got a manicure and pedicure on Wed. I bet you had a great time w/ your dd's. I went by myself. I enjoyed it though. I had the whole day to myself while Danny was in meetings in St. Louis. THat was before we met up w/ everyone else in Boston. I went to the mall and shopped before my mani. and pedi. I had such a relaxing trip. I could use that more often.
To the others I haven't met yet. I am a sahm of 3: 6yr old girl, 4 yr old boy and 10 mo. old boy(11 mo tomorrow). I am not ready for his bday in 4 1/2 weeks:( I live in KY and am finally close to my goal. After my 3rd baby I decided I was done and got serious about weight loss. I was back to prepregnancy weight by the time he was 5 mo, but haven't gotten serious enough to get to goal weight. SO, now that my trip is over and summer is right around the corner I am ready to get serious and lose those last 10 or so lbs. Depends on what the scale says tomorrow.
Oh, btw, I think someone said they had a c/s. I had one w/ my first and third, so I know what you are going through. As soon as my dr. gave me the go ahead to exercise(8 weeks) I started and haven't stopped. I just started following an eating plan and exercised and I did it faster this time than the other 2 times. After the first baby(also as c/s) it took me prob. 6 or 7 mo. to get back to my prepreg. weight. It does take time you just have to commit yourself and make yourself do it because you deserve it!
I am going to get back to my kids. I got to take a short nap today. I want to take a walk, but am still tired. We got up at 3am this morning to catch our flight home. SO, I don't know if I will get my walk, but I miss working out. I only made it to the hotel fitness center one day, but I walked outside a lot. So, I can't wait ti get back to the gym tomorrow.
TTYL, Cindi

| Husbands can be your best ally or your worst enemy sometimes! Try and get him involved some how because having my husband support me has been the main source of motivation for me! It's good to have a goal like the Kenny Chesney shirt. Mine is to be a size 10! I don't know why but that's my goal size for now.

| I am a stay at home Mom of 4 kids, ages 10, 5 year old twins and 3 months. I have never worried about my body before, but after a c/section..I am miserable. I feel horrible about myself and lack motivation in dieting or excercise, and my Hubby is no help...so I am beginning today to make some time for myself and keep up on my daily goals, even if I have to take baby steps!

HEY SKINNIES!!!! Guess WHO???? Thanks so much for the email link Kathy! I am really excited about starting this program! What an excellent idea. For those who don't know or forgot..I'll tell ya a bit about myself:
I am a former SAHM who just recently divorced in Nov 05. I started back to school in Aug 05 for my nursing degree. I am currently a full time student with 3 daughters ages 11, 8 and 6. The girls live with me full time and see their dad every other weekend and one night a week. I am slowly adjusting to the "single" life! I am always meeting new people and doing new things. After my husband told me about his feelings and soon left..I lost about 50 lbs. I have since gained about 15-20 back..although I am still a size 10 (go figure on that!)...so here I am!!! My goal is to lose 30 lbs to get to that ultimate goal weight. I start TODAY!!!
Looking forward to meeting you all!!
Kelly :o)

| Thanks for the advice. She is much better. I am not a big runner myself. I've always enjoyed aerobics and I've done it for long enough now that I can do it at home which is good because althougth we try, my husband can't always make it home in time for me to go work out. Well good luck with your last few pounds. I have a little more to go than that (30 to be exact)!

Hi. You are welcome to join our group. Right now, we are in a bit of transition. We are expiring members from ediets & will be more active here after those memberships are over.
I have lost about 25 pounds. I have the hardest 10 left to go. I am determined to do it this time. I have started running, which, by the way, I never liked. Guess what? I am actually starting to enjoy it! Maybe that will help drop this stubborn pounds!!
Hope your daughter is doing better. As far as keeping them hydrated, whenever I had a worry about dehydration, I would use pedialite. My kids are 19, 18, 15, 12, 9 and 6.

Hello everyone. How is everyone doing today? I'm just starting back. I had a couple of crazy weeks and I guess fell off the wagon! I'm back and I just need a little encouragement. I'm a stay at home mommy of a one year old little girl. She is my main inspiration as I want her to be healthy and happy from day one and not have to struggle with her weight like I have. Plus I just want to look good! Also, my daughter has a little touch of the flu. Any hints for keeping her hydrated? Thanks everyone!!

Hi Cindi.
I haven't had time to look things over either. Welcome to the others who have joined in too.
I think I am going to try to find some good recipe for dinner. I had gone back up to 152, but am back down to 148. I really want to get to around 142. I am going to go for a run with the dog as soon as the little girls get on the bus.
Becki - You had asked earlier when we are going to be in Sandusky. We catch the ferry for Pelee on July 29th. We are planning on being at Cedar Point for 2 days before that. Hope you are in town then!!
Cindi - I talked to Kelly. I think we are going to try to meet up when I am in Louisville also.
I am sooooo looking forward to summer! I am tired of school. I am tired of tests. I am tired of studying!!!
(To those who are new, I am mom to 6 and started back to school for my nursing degree. I have finished all the prerequisite requirements and will find out...OMG...in 20 days!! if I was accepted into the nursing program. )
Better go get the girls ready for the bus. It is that time.
Talk to you later.

I'm so glad that you started this discussion! After baby #2, the 'baby apron' won't go away on my belly. My body totally changed -- its squishy. Yuck! At first I thought, "Its just from the pregnancy.. .it will go away." But now, the baby is almost 1 and still the fat is on my body. This site seems so common sense and methodical. I hope using SP makes me healthier and skinny ;)

One of my friends told me about this site. It looks great from what I can tell so far. A couple of us have memberships that are about to run out at ediets so I'm gonna start a thread for us on this site and invite them to join. Anyone is welcome to join us! I'm a full time mom in Ohio with 2 kids.
