Okay I am really getting motivated I went to the Buffmammas website and love it save it to my favorites. I am now really thinking I can do this I can have a flat stomach the only thing is I have never been skinny, have always had a astomach so my skin has no memory of a flat stomach so I have a long way to go. If my body don't end up like or somewhat close to flat tummy tuck it is

I have really been trying to work on my stomach as well! I notice that all the weight I am loosing seems to come straight off my stomach! Yah! Now I just need to work on building up the muscles!

Everyone has abs. You just have to get rid of the fat that covers them up. It is harder for everyone to trim the fat from the mid section after a certain age, but it can be done. Focus on exercises that work on the tummy and waist and remember to cut back the calories. If you had abs pre-pregnancy you still have abs. The extra "stuff" around the tummy you put on during your pregnancy is just covering them up. You can do it! Good Luck!

Well i don't know if i ever will, as i havent had a flat tummy since i was about 10. But if i look at my mum you wouln't think she had 3 kids. She has always had abs, but then she has been doing sport all her life.

I've been seeing alot of things about the tummy after baby. Coach Jen suggested Babyfit.com it has exercises on it specifically for the post baby tummy and getting it back into shape. Some seem really easy because the first thing was just contracting your stomach for like 10 sec. But they work you up to it. The site seems more geared twords pregnancy but they do have things on getting back into shape after having a baby.
hope this helps...

The ab seperation is fixable, but you shouldn't do regular crunches until it's repaired. To repair the muscles, you need to work the tranverse muscles first (the deep muscles) I got 3 DVDs about it and it's working!!! "Lose Your Mummy Tummy" is a great place to start. There's a book and a DVD. The other two DVDs that I have are "Bounce Back Fast - Post Natal Core Conditioning" and the "Perfect Postnatal Workout". These all teach you how to get rid of diastasis (ab seperation) I'd probably start with Lose Your Mummy Tummy DVD. It explains things very well and will help you in your everyday life to make sure you don't make things worse with your stomach and then will help you with all your other workouts. You can use these anytime after having a baby.

My daughter is almost 5, and I'm at a healthy weight but STILL have a pretty easily-identifiable pooch around the middle, made worse by my utter lack of any chest whatsoever. Mine doesn't seem to have gone away with weight loss - but, I certainly haven't tried that hard with the crunches and such.

I have to say, though...I just read a great article in the Oprah magazine for this month about women's beauty. One of the sections dealt with scars, and it made me think about my belly differently. A woman who had several scars was recounting the fact that the scars told the story of her life, and I started thinking about how my pooch is a trophy of motherhood. I don't know if it sounds dumb, but it's kind of a reminder of the experience of pregnancy and being a mom, and that's something that I'd never trade. So I'm trying to think differently, and maybe that will work even better than a tummy tuck!!

In the eye of the beholder and out of the mouths of babes...my 6-year-old son has always liked women and has commented many times on their physical appearance. He's very appreciative of beautiful women! Anyway, I have a workout video which features one lady who is wearing a sports bra. She happens to have very developed abs--a true 6-pack! My son was watching me exercise tonight and asked about this lady. He said she was "funny looking" and he didn't want to see her again. Granted, he's only 6 and has never seen a set of good abs before but it sure made me feel better! I immediately thought about this thread as I'd just read it prior to exercising--hope you all feel just a little better, too!

I'm starting to think I'm stuck with the pouch, too. I haven't been pushing super hard to get anything resembling my old tummy back (still a tummy, but not quite so saggy!), but there's such a difference there that I wonder if I'm just dealing with a new reality now. The elasticity is definitely gone - ick! But I'm exercising and feel pretty good, so I figure, whatever. :)

Well I was one of those women who was really tiny and didn't get strech marks and didn't really have a big belly at all but, no matter what I do or how much I lose I still have what I call my pouch. I think genetics play a huge role in it. I have decided that Unless I got lipo which I would never do I will have to endure this pouch. lol.

Yes you can!!!! After three kids and a lot of work, I have abs again. I include an intense ab workout in my exercise routine at least once a week. It was more like 3 times a week when I was gettingthem back into shape. Maintenance is easier than the initial rebuild! I never thought I'd wear a bikini again, but I am.

well my mother was fine after kids and got her abs back, i think that abs are overrated anyways, a nice cute tummy looks better to me...i think it is possible but i could be wrong also, just work for it, it will never hurt.

what a coincidence. i have researched tummy tucks (wayyyy too expensive and invasive/scary) because i keep reading that during preg you can experience the separation of the central abdominal muscles called diastasis recti. and once these are "broken" (very technical, huh) you can never fix them no matter how many crunches you do. however, after reading about how invasive the surgery is (and i'm the LAST person who would ever have anything "done") i've decided to wait until i reach my goal and see how things look then. in other words, i'll try the crunches first!!

but look at all those celebs who's tummies are fine. i've come to the conclusion that those women were skinny before preg, didn't gain a lot of weight (didn't stretch their abs as much as me!) during preg, and thus were able to bounce back. now i'm sorry i gained so much weight with both preg's!!

oh well too late now, eh? and if i win the lotto (and get brave) someday maybe i'd do it. otherwise, its back to the gym for me.

not much help, prob, but that's my 2cents!

When you find out please let me know. :-)

My oldest in 7yrs old and I still have his left overs.

But I'm sure it is possible. Unforutatnley I had a C-Section and I hear once they stretch you all out is hard to bounce back in place.

But any suggestions would be great.

I was just wondering if anyone has abs after a pregnancy because my son is one years old and my tummy is still flabby, and Im hoping I can still get a flat toned tummy with working out.
