Boy is this me!! I snack all day. I really enjoyed reading some of the tips. Great ideas.

I need to start keeping more healthy snacks on hand and NOT these chips, candy, etc .. that is here now.

I have started eating yogurt more for snack. Not sure though it is best choice.

You would think I could stay busy enough NOT to snack. I always have plnety around here to do.

I have started to chew gum, and drink water when I want a snack. I also try to grab something healthy before I grab soething bad! I even set a timer sometimes and wait 10 minutes before I let myself get anything. I am a SAHM too and I find these help when they work!

I chew gum a lot. Since I already have something in my mouth I snack less.

I am a Stay at Home Mom of a 4 and 5 year old.

I just found out about SparkPeople on March 11th.
Since then I have been pretty dilligent bordering on obsessive in keeping track of drinking a lot more water than I used to and really watching what I eat.

The first day I tracked my water I drank only 6 cups, then 8 on the second day, and 12 on the 3rd day.

So that has helped a lot on being hungry and wanting to snack.

The obsessing over the tracking of the food is helping with snacking too since I tend to see how it fits into the daily meal plan before I choose to eat anything.

I am a SAHM who snacks constantly! Anything sweet especially. It is really tough to quit. Every day I say I am going to be good... then the baby screams, my 2 year old fusses and my MIL starts causing problems for my poor DH and well you know what happens!

I do drink lots of water though. I always have. I can't wait for spring to get out of the house!!!

Nice to meet you

I used to be a snacker too. I switched the "bad" snacking to drinking water. Although, some days are easier than others for sure!

Here's an article from the Resource Center on snacking:

Snacking Healthy

Enjoy,

I guess one of my problems is my son's play-area safe-zone is in the living room in front of the tv... so i don't know how to get around it... i'm sure it's just a mental habit I just have to break... i did good yesterday, this is day two!

I have somewhat got control of my snacking.
Instead of snacks now, I get a 16 oz glass of water. I dont eat in front of the tv anymore either. Those 2 things help greatly!
If I do want a snack anyways, I usually make a berry smoothie, or get some celery and carrot sticks. Just for the munch factor.
I hope this encourages someone else, because it kind of sucks doing it myself! lol!

I wish I would be smart enough to buy things like that at the store... i try healthy rice cakes and things like that, but it just never works... especially when my husband comes home and we have a big dinner after all that snacking

I'm also a SAHM and I find it tough to stick to healthy snacks. I've been trying to snack on vegetables such as cauliflower, baby carrots, cucumbers, Tomatoes and bell peppers. It just seems like alot of the time they're not what I need to satisfy my craving so it is very hard.
