*smiles* Actually, I have always loved dancing with my children. I still do it as much as possible.
However, now that they are 4 and 5 years old. I tend to not try to hold them while dancing with them. *grins*
They are a little too heavy to try doing that currently. Maybe once I lose some weight it might be interesting to try again.

I got one of those battery powered bubble blowers and we play Splat. We run around the yard and pop the bubbles. Even little ones can get into the act of chasing the bubbles even if they can't splat them.
I have even found a few kids exercise videos. I have a yoga one and a Taebo one that the kids just love.

Hello. Great topic. I have a 3 month old so it's hard for me to get my 3 older boys outdoors for traditional activities like sliding so I make up fun games for us to do in the evenings after school.
Statues- we all dance around to music until the music man stops the music. The dancers must stay completely still and quiet until the music starts again. If they move there out. Last statue wins. We have a ball doing this.
Crab tag- we crawl on all fours like crabs. Same rules as normal outdoor tag except you must crawl like a crab at all times. This is our fav! And it really get's your pulse up
Be creative. kids have loads of energy and if your kids are like mine they have fun doing anything as long as they're doing it with you.

Hello! I walk around the block with my kids. The older 3 ride their bikes and the 2yo sits in her stroller. Often they aren't involved because we are a busy family and I work out way before they wake up.

Hi Bluemist,
Welcome to Sparkpeople and job well done for including your children in your workouts. Children pick up on all of our habits, both good and bad, so it's so important to equal them all out!

Here is an article from the Fitness Resource Center that I thought you may enjoy!

This morning my older girl was in preschool so I danced with my youngest daughter. She loves it!!! So do I. Makes it fun, not like some of the other exercises that are out there. Yesterday we went sliding which was fun for both my girls and me. What other activities are fun to do with your kids while getting exercise. Are there any suggestions??
