I have been in your situation before. Now I work as a substitute teacher where my kids go to school. But I remember the time before I went back to work. Part of me wanted to work, part of me wanted to stay home. The only person who can make that decision is you. I would advise not making a decision based on money, if you don't have too. If it is about extra money for vacation, tighten your belt. Enjoy the time you have before school starts next year. Let me tell you, school changes every thing. They grow up so fast and you don't get that time back.
Of course, ultimately only you can make that decision. Don't let anyone else make it for you.

sure there is no stigma about going to work full time as long as you have a loving and responsible figure in your
child life. I was practically raised my one of my neighbors
and she was one of the most loving, people I have ever met
she helped shaped me and mold me and it was a great trade
off because she could not have children of her own and my parents
were just too busy. So I got the best of both worlds.

Time with your child is so precious. Earning more money is always useful, but time can't be returned. Please know that you can earn more money and still have time with your family. Debt doesn't have to rule your life. Keep your heart open to opportunities that are available.

There was another topic where this was discussed.
If you are getting by and happy, stay the way it is.
I am married with one child, now a teenager.
Staying home has never been an option, and we are not one of those families have a lot of "things".
Our "new" car is a 1999 Ford.
The time with your daughter is precious and worth so much more than money.
I am blessed that I was able to start working for a school district when she was 6. Now I work, but have time to spend with her when school is out.
Go with your heart.

Utlimately your heart will guide you, but you asked for opinions - I would make the most of your time with your daughter while you have the opportunity. They just grow so fast, and change every day - even at her age. I wish I could turn back the clock on my kids - and I've been home with/for them.
Of course you could always use the money - who couldn't...but realistically we'll all be in debt until the day we die, unfortunately. You may be able to find other ways to finance the trip - spread payments out over a longer period???
We have alot of debt because I've made memories with my kids - we have taken road trips from one side of the country to the other, top to bottom. My oldest is soon to be 21 and I still hear him tell his friends about different adventures we have been on.

The bottom line - I doubt you'd ever regret staying home with your child - but I wonder if the same can be said about going back to work?

My advice would be to enjoy your daughter while you have the chance if you can afford it. I am a single mom, and don't have the option to stay at home. I really wish I had more opportunity to stay home with my son while he is young. That is just my two cents. Good luck.

I am deciding weather or not to go back to work full . which at my job is 3 12 hour shifts. We are going on vacation in June and could use the money for it. And then I could resume my part time job. But my daughter goes to school full time next year so i don't want to miss out either. I am struggling with this. Just thought I could get some opinions here. Thanks!!!
