I never had any kind of weird stuff while or even after I was pregnant with my older two children. But when I was pregnant with my boys, I had a really hard time keeping food down. Things I could previously eat--and can eat now--would nauseate me. We used to watch fear factor each monday night--I don't have a weak stomach, never have, but I could not watch them eat the disgusting stuff they ate. Even thinking about it made me sick. And I have a hard time watching tv programs or movies with babies (in particular) or children that die. And I have a much harder time with programs that have twins, especially boys. I still have nightmares sometimes where I see two headstones at the cemetary.

I am glad I opened this topic because alot of people think their pregnancy will be a breeze but most people have some time of problem.

I think I've had a wide range of birth experiences! lol My first pregnancy I was so sick the whole time then developed pre-eclampsia. I gained 60 pounds, mostly fluid. Matthew was born exactly on his due date weighing in at 7 pounds, 4 oz (22 inches long). It took 11 hours to get him here. My second pregnancy went great, no real problems till birth. Arielle was two weeks late and at birth had her umbilical cord wrapped around her neck. I nearly had to have a c-section. Luckily I was far enough along in my labor that they just did a major episiotomy and got her out fast. I only had a 4 hour labor. She was 8 pounds (20 inches long). The third baby was the easiest by far. I had a 3 hour labor and she was born without any kind of intervention. The dr. sat on the end of my bed and delivered her! She was 7 lbs 8 oz (21 inches long). The 4th baby was a bit more difficult. I had false labor for weeks and everyone worried I wouldn't make it to the hospital with her since I was already dilated 4 cm for weeks before her birth and had short labors with my last two babies. I had a dr. appt and he kept me. 2 hours later I had an 8 lb 14 oz (20 inches long)girl. The next time I was pregnant with twins. I didn't realize how bad I felt till they were born! Man, it was nice to be able to breathe and to walk, and roll over in bed again!! I made it to 36 weeks and developed pre-eclampsia and their amniotic water was leaking so I was induced for the first time. 12 hours and one breech baby later I had healthy fraternal boys. Ben weighed 6 pounds (18 inches long) and Nick was 5 pounds (17 inches long). Both came home two days later. I had lots of post-partem swelling but otherwise all was well. It was really weird holding Nick, he was only 4 1/2 pounds when I brought him home. I was used to big 8 pound babies and he was like a little baby doll. I was lucky to have had all of mine vaginally, even breech Nicholas. (It is funny to note, he is still a rebel!!) Now, I'm done. No more babies! lol

It was fun reading other birth experiences! I love them!

My first pregnancy was awful, I spent close to 38 weeks puking. I was on meds to help me. Then I ballooned! I gained 100lbs. I would be told to walk off the weight, then told to sit down before my blood pressure would cause a stroke. I had an emergency c-section with him. My second pregnancy was ok, I was kinda sick...never really felt miserable pregnant because he was born at 34 weeks. A successful VBAC. My 3rd pregnancy was wonderful. I wasn't sick at all. I had a great delivery that I even got to watch in a mirror! Talk about cool! I wasn't able to sleep for 9 days after she was born, had my first migrane and had beginning signs of post-partem pre-eclampsia. My 4th pregnancy was horrible. I was sick and exhausted. I was again on drugs to help keep food down. She was born after a horrible labor at 37 weeks. I had post-partem pre-eclampsia and my blood pressure shot up to 120/215. I spent about 6 hours in the ER where some idiots took my blood pressure with a leg cuff and sent me home because I was just fat and fat people have high blood pressure. I came back to the dr several times to see if I had gotten better. I was told that because my husband is an ICU nurse he can watch me at home instead of sending me to the ICU. joy! It took about 3 weeks before the fluid came off and I didn't look like a marshmellow. I had piting edema on my arms even.
Three OB docs told me it wouldn't be a good idea to have another baby, if I wanted to raise the ones that I had.
I hope to adopt some day. I really want to fill my home with love and laughter. I love children. :)

I had Bell's Palsy when I was 8 months pregnant at my baby shower I look horrible. Not only did it look like I had a stroke I had so much fluid on my legs I looked so pitiful. When I look at my pictures from my shower I just want to cry. I couldn't believe how bad I looked. I agree with you the labor wasn't much better.

When I was 7 1/2 months pregnant with my oldest (now 14) I had Bell's Palsy. It's where a virus attacks the nerves in one half of a persons face. So here I am, as big as a house (she was 9lbs 4oz) feeling uncomfortable, and half my face didn't work. I felt like a total circus freak. Luckily steroids and physical therapy took care of everything in about 4 weeks and everything looks pretty normal now. I won't even go into the delivery though. People who know me can't believe I had 2 more after her.

I am glad to know that I am not the only one. When I was young, my parents wouldn't let me watch Charlie Brown because it upset me that everyone was so mean to him. I will never be good at horror movies. Veggie Tales are more my style.

Oh I still can not watch anything that involves children being hurt or missing or any of that nonsense since I had my first daughter 4 years ago. My husband thinks I am silly sometimes because I will immediately want to go kiss my sleeping children and just make sure they are safe in their beds!!!

I was blessed to have a very good pregnancy, but found that I couldn't watch any tv/movie that had violence in it. I wouldn't sleep for days. I don't watch that kind of stuff at home, but if we'd visit friends, I would leave the tv room. Any one else have that weirdness?

Just thought this would be a good topic. I know most think that pregnancy is great and it is but alot of people have problems while pregnant. Well just say what you got to.
