My daughter was four months old this easter. She got a couple of Precious Moments filled baskets from Wal-mart that had dolls and coloring books in them and some little stuffed bunnies.
Next year I'll have an easter egg hunt for her and get her an easter basket. I'll probably use one that she got last year and just get the stuff to fill it with.
I'm going to make sure she knows why we really celebrate easter to so she won't think it's just about the easter bunny and the baskets full of treats.

I have 2 kids, a boy who's 10 and a girl who's 5. Last year I broke down and bought the ready-filled baskets from Wal-Mart. On the plus side, one had a soccer ball and small pylons in it, the other had a basketball and water bottle in it. Plus a few candy. Both kids thought it was great - so did I for that matter - they could burn off that excess sugar energy with their new toys - lol! Those were officially from the Easter Bunny.

In our area, kids also get something from the parents. So I gave them a family movie between both of them, one bunny each, and a booklet of home made coupons for each - things like "this coupon entitles you to a monster hug" and "this coupon entitles you to pick a family game night" - they had about 10 or 15 coupons each of various different things. Turns out they liked the coupons better than everything else they had!

My two little ones always get a new Easter outfit because I always did as a child. They get a little egg with a suprise in it, a couple of cream eggs and a few things like a colouring book and chalk or bubbles. We try not to go overboard so they don't expect it every year.

I fill little plastic eggs with cholocate and hide them around the house(this year will be interesting I bought in Aug/05 so its our first Easter in it)In the baskets I put colouring stuff, a DVD, playdough etc. I try not to put to much candy in the basket, that is what the 300 plastic eggs are for (not quite 300 but it feels like it when I am filling them)
I keep reminding myself WHY we really CELBRATE EASTER, and don't worry about the commercial side of it!

My daughter is getting toys, maybe one candy. She is only 17 months old, so she isn't into candy yet.

Last year I didn't put much candy at all. What candy I did put in was a sugar free choc. bunny and a couple of other sugar free items. I just filled it up with little things like lip gloss, small toys and things like that.

If you celebrate Easter, what will you be filling your child's Basket with?
