| just checking in while the boys are asleep. Brandon seems to be doing better today. He is still coughing, but we bought some of those shower soothers to try and help him out.

I would have to say that my food weekness is Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream but here lately I have been doing great. I just take a bite every few days at the fridge but never sit down in front of the tv with it because if I did I would eat the whole thing.

Good Afternoon Mrsristow, Thank you so much for your kind words about the kiddos being better. I hope your little one gets better also. Just remember we aren't perfect. We have to splurge sometime well ok at least I do and you did it in a small quanity. I was like you before I would have eaten the entire house, but now I think is this worth it. I am very proud of your eating great. With the beautiful spring coming you can get outdoors and just have fun. Just remember one day at a time. We are here for you always.

Mysticeyez, I am here to personally welcome you and very glad you decided to join my board. I go to curves and it has been great just started and all. I really didn't think I had the time because it is hard to get away sometimes but I can find 30 minutes to go workout 3 times a week. Thanks for the info on the dvd's. I heard the biggest loser dvd is a great workout too.
It's beautiful here today in MA, it's 52 degrees out and blue skies!!! I just came in a little while ago for lunch. My little ones didn't want to come in! lol I didn't either.

Hi, Mysticeyez WELCOME~ I am so glad you are here. This site for SAHM is awesome. Very supporting. I am happy that you decided to join us.
AS for exercise. I try to work out everyday. I mix it up. I am a member of a gym but when I can't make it to the gym, I work out to Walk away the pounds videos, some strength training videos. This past week I have been doing the exercises on the fitness part of sparkspeople. I just choose the ones I can do. They have ones on there that use a ball dumbells. If you don't have those that's ok because it offers ones without. When I first starting I didn't have much I would just walk in place while I watched one of my favorite shows. 30 minutes just marching in step. I hope this helps. Welcome again. My motto is "You are worth it" Just say that to yourself because you are. You can lose 20 pounds I know you can.

Hi, Irish30 I love Walk away the pounds dvd, Richard Simmons (its fun I promise. I love the oldies one. Music and just having fun while you exercise), also I have heard about the biggest loser dvd. At walmart it's ten here in OKlahoma. So I might scoop that one up. I need a variety change. It's so pretty here hopefully the kiddos will be feeling better and we can go to the zoo tomorrow.

wow...it has been raining since 2am here and this is our first rain since Oct. 18, 2005! The streets are flooded but it sounds so relaxing. This is the first rainfall for my youngest...almost like a holiday out here! We will be doing our exercises inside today. Usually we go for a walk but they say that rain won't be letting up until tomorrow. Hope the weekend finds everyone happy and healthy!

Good saturday morning!
We had thunder and a rainbow here in NW Wisconsin this morning! Our dog was beside himself! lol
I hope all the sick children are feeling better!
My youngest came down with a fever on thursday, and no symptoms, so I hope it just silently leaves. lol
Did good last week, with the exception of yesterday. I broke a couple of my rules. at the same time mind you.
I ate 3 peep bunnies, and 3 chocolate covered marshmallow bunnies...in front of the tv! I know. I am going to hell for sure! lol ;)
I am proud that I didnt eat all of the candy in our house, because thats what would normally happen, so proud of myself for that.
Yesterday was the first day I had enough calories in. Everything else looks good, a little low on carbs, but I dont care too much about that.
Not doing what I want to in the exercise portion yet, but that will come. SPring is here!

| I would definitly go walking with my kids ( or rollerblading which I LOVE) if I were in a better neighborhood. But I just dont feel safe walking with my children around here. Unfortunately all my excersise has to be confined to the house and our yard. I do dance some though with my kids, particularily during episodes of Blues Clues ( my youngest loves that show)

Well I dance during commercial with my son by the end of the day I dance about 15 to 30 min. I also go for power walk with 2 of them in the stroller it's great for the legs and arms.

| Just wanted to pop in and say hi. Im a stay at home mom of 3 wonderful kids. Ages 6, 3, and 1. I have about 20lbs to lose, and I desperatly want to lose it. Any tips from any of you that I could use? This morning I keep hearing a nagging voice in my mind telling me this isnt going to work lol. What excercises do you do? How do you make time to do them? How long do you do them? I myself right now do 5 min of sit ups, 10 leg lunges ( all my poor legs can handle right now), and about 10-15 min of Tae-Bo. Just the 10 min of Tae Bo gets me all kinds of out of breath and my heart pumping, and my whole body is moderately sore the next day. But I just dont feel that it is enough. Opinions are so very welcome please ?

Hey guys had a great day and a wonderful week.
This morning did curves again and then had my massage it was great and I will be going it once a month. Went shopping for food and bought lots of fresh fruit and veggies, and snack that I can eat. This evening was low key with the kids, that is the way we always do Friday. Hope everyone had a great week and a wonderful weekend.

| are you going to be flying or driving to arizona?? we moved out here in august of last year and i couldn't imagine making the drive with our daughter. We had my mom fly out and pick her up and bring her back out to arizona. The trip was only about 3.5 hours on the plane. She did great and loved the take off and landing...guess she will be a theme park child..lol! Good luck!

Whew what a day. I am very glad its Friday. Hubby is home on the weekends so it helps having another pair of hands around. Didn't make it to the gym but did some workout videos and 18 strength exercises with the help of my two babies. They are so cute. Karlie loves my watp video. She calls it marching. So she does it with me and she has her own 1 pound weights. Tried the stretchy bands and mine broke so I just use dumbbells. Anyhoo, so I am tired tonight. So going to take it easy the rest of the night. I hope all you had a great day. My worst thing is the weekend. But I am going to watch what I eat and try to workout both days. So hopefully this week I will see results. Have a wonderful evening ladies.

| Barbara I just want you to know you are my inspiration. I started trying to use my sewing machine the other day because of hearing how you sew your daughters' dresses. It was sort of a disaster, but I'm going to take a class so maybe I can figure it out and make my daughter a dress or too. Thanks for all of your hard work and advice.

So far its great.
I have a lot of organizing issues myself. I find what helps me is to make a list each day of the things that are bugging me in my house. Then I pick the most important and prioritize all the stuff, and just start doing, and crossing off. I love a crossed off list!
Just my little tip.

Dianne- So glad you picked us to join! I have been a stay at home mom a long time now, so hope I can help a little. I think one thing is to veiw your "job" at home just like a "job" anywhere. ( Of course this job is soooo much more fun!!!) But I say that for this reason. What you do at home is as important- if not more- than any job anywhere.You wouldn't go out to work in your pajamas- so get up and get dressed first thing in the morning. Then pick one room to clean from top to bottem. Throw out ANYTHING you do not need( unless it is your husbands- then store it where you can find it for him QUICKLY) Organize that room. It may take a few days- depending on how messed up it was to begin with. ( In the past I had a few doozies!!) Once that room is done tackle the next one. Keep going until the whole house is the way you like it- every thing now has a place. It will make life so much easier if you control how many things you have. I think which room to start with depends on the person. If you feel over-whelmed start small, say the bathroom. Make it clean and cute. Throw out the 300 colors of nail polish you never use and keep just the two you use over and over- things like that. The living room is also a nice place to start if you feel up to it. That way hubby can come home and relax in a peaceful place- then you can relax with him and not feel like you should be up doing something. I will stop ther- hope I didn't scare you off!!!LOL!!! I just love being home and love to share with other women who are making their way down the sweet path of motherhood. (OK, I am a sap...see why I have 14 kids!!) Let me know if that helps at all. Hi Diane, as far as cleaning and knowing where to start, you might try Flylady.net I know lots of people had success with her system. She has alot of ideas about breaking things down to 15 minute intervals and decluttering, etc. Hope that helps!!

hello everyone ! i'm a stay at home mom and a first time mom. i'm 36 and my son is 15 months old. i have been having a lot of trouble getting organized since i've been home. i've just let everything pile up and i don't know where to start or how to do it !? any suggestions ?
congrats laurie on your breakfast streak !! i had raisin bran and a few bites of my son's banana, i'm starting my breakfast habit today!
i hope to learn something from some veteran stay at home moms and i hope you won't mind a beginner . . . ?

I'm sorry to hear your little ones aren't feeling good.My 2 were sick the whole month of Dec. They're hardly ever sick, but since my daughter started kindergarten she's been getting everyone's germs!
I do hope your little ones feel better soon!
The sun was trying to come out this morning and now it's cloudy and we're supposed to get rain. It is close to 50 degrees though!
I did eat breakfast again this morning and I am very proud of myself! That's 3 days in a row!! lol I'm on my way to making a healthy habit. Yay!! lol

| Jennifer~ Brandon's croup is picking up big time. Last night he wouldn't sleep in his bed as long as me and daddy were downstairs. So, I got him to sleep, and then laid him on the couch until I went to bed. The whole time he was laying there, Tommy kept telling me that the coffee was percalating on the couch. (which is what he sounded like when he had croup the first time)

Good morning. I am glad to hear things are feeling better in your department. I know what you are saying when you look at your kids and just get choked up. Last night we took the kiddos to see Sesame Street LIve and I was looking at my 2 1/2 daughter and just got a tear. She was smiling, laughing and just having a great time. I just thought this is going to be a precious memory I share with her and my son. He loved it too. He starting clapping this week and it just brings me joy to see his new accomplishments. You know that I am so blessed to have my kiddos. Just losing weight is for me but mainly for them. So they can have a healthy mommy. Ok, gone on to long.

| Hi!!!! I've travelled quite a bit with my 5 year old and my 3 year old. What works for me is to give them Tylenol 1/2 before boarding the flight. I also make sure I have something for them to drink---or suck (like a lollipop)--paci used to work okay--bottle or sippy with juice. I find it really helps when the plane is going to take off and also on the landing. But, keep in mind it is a new experience---It helps when your seated close to the window. Hopefully you'll be seated around people who are patient and understanding.

MIMIBEE- I know what you mean about extra skin. I am afraid I will look like an OLD hound dog when I am through!! At least it will be just skin and not fat!! I really think the exercise will help a lot though- at least that is what I tell myself!!
Jenn- I really like the WATP tapes too. I think they are a nice way to get some exercise in and my little children often do it with me.

Both boys are sick, so I have been trying to keep them from getting too sick. Brandon has croup, AGAIN, for the second time since he was born. (he had it when he was 8 months old just before Christmas, and now again) Logan is being Mr. Cranky and Mr. Stuffy, but I think that has more to do with his teething then anything.

Thanks, Barbara. I looked today at Walmart and all they have was the 123 mile one all in one. It alone was 18. So I decided since I have the 2 mile watp express I could do that twice in a day. So that will equal 4. I love her videos. She has the biggest smile. Plus, she throws in some humor to.

I am so late because Thursday's are my Ebay day's, I sell on Ebay and Thursday is when everything either sales or I have to relist. I have only been doing this for a few weeks, but I am making some money. Well that is all for today, more tomorrow.

boy, i'm glad we don't have to worry about weather concerns in the winter here (southern cal) most of the time if you want to jog or walk, you can do it. it rains like, 2 minutes a yr here. haha and yet, why are there so many gyms around!?
that's one hard thing about living here, ppl are SO obsessed with weight and looks. when i hear on the news that the average woman's size is 14, i'm thinking, then why am i one of the chubbiest moms at preschool!? why are there so many skinnies around? now i know, its probably regional!
anyways, i have been having a major obsession myself, with worrying about the loose skin on my post-pregnancy belly. it's already really (disgustingly so) loose after only 15 lbs, so what's it gonna look like after 15 more!? apparently after preg, you can (if you got big like me) end up with such loose skin that no amount of sit-ups will tighten it, so the only option is surgery. i do NOT believe in cosmetic surgery, but this is one i'm seriously considering!! i'll wait and see what happens, but i'm still obsessing and festering on it i can't help it!
sorry for the rant, but that's where i'm at!!

Good afternoon ladies! I had a rough night last night with the baby (he's teething), so my hubby let me sleep in this morning. My older kiddos don't have school today or tomorrow, teacher in service day. So my oldest daughter and I are going to go for a walk in a bit pushing the younger two in their strollers.
Although they are acting up something fierce right now. I might try to sneak out the house without them, for some peace and quiet, LOL!! I love my children dearly, but sometimes, they drive me nuts and it seems like today is going to be one of those days. 
It seems nice enough outside that they can go outside to play and maybe run off some of that pent up energy. Winter keeps them so couped up, that when the first signs of spring roll around they get all wild, LOL!!

Ladybug- Yes there is a 4 mile! I bought mine at Walmart, but that was about two years ago. I don't think they have it now. Leslie has a web site where you can get it. She has a new 5 mile walk now too. It comes with hand weights, but it is about 35 dollars so I will have to wait for it to get OLD before I can afford it.

hi, just stopping in here to say I am new, and am doing well so far, especially now since I have found spark.
I posted an "I'm new" post, but did it in the main forum by mistake. Meant to do it here.
It will be fun to chime in and add my encouragement, and recieve some as well!
I have 3 children, Aaron is 3, Ella is 4, and Isaac is 8.
I have been a sahm for 9 years now. :o After Aarons birth, the weight just didnt fall off for me, I think being a spring baby had something to do with it.
Before being a full time mom, I was an EEG tech at St. Paul Children's Hospital. I worked on the epilepsy unit with children that had problem seizures. Sometimes I miss working, but love being home more. The job was more sad stories than happy ones...I bet they were equal, but the sad ones stick out more.
I hope to get to know everyone here, and make some good loser friends!

My goals are like yours. I plan to get some cardio in. I didn't get a chance to go to the gym yesterday so hopefully I will be able to go today some time. That would be great. I always feel better when I workout. If I don't make it I will just do what I did yesterday. Walk away the Pounds video and the strength exercises from sparks. Has anyone tried those yet. I loved it. I chose the ones I could do. Then I would cross them off when I did them. Pretty funny, I pushed the demo button and did it along with the demo. Just make time forself to breath. Even if its going into the bathroom and telling your self for one second "you can do this" inhale and exhale this will help keep together. I do this when the kiddos are doubleteaming me and it seems to help me not go insane. I love my kiddos but I need sometime for me. I know that your plate is full but your not alone you have SAHM's to listen. Welcome again, I am glad you are here.

Good Morning Ladies!
What are everyone's goals for today (if any)? My goal is to get at least 30 minutes of cardio in and some weight training (w/dumbells).
I did well yesterday with my food choices and calories for the day.
I am planning on eating my breakfast a little earlier today. I found my energy level was a lot better yesterday since I ate a good breakfast.

Louise Anne- I am so glad you are joining us! You will really love being home! Just give your self time to figure out a schedule that works best for your family. The most important thing is to enjoy your children!! And spoil your husband! Sorry I in so late, but Wednesday's are really busy. All the kids are in tumbling and it goes from 5:30 until 8:30, because there are different age groups and I have lots of kids. So it's home from school eat dinner and go. I had a really go day today, I went to Curves for the second day and it was great. I got a great workout and wasn't winded, also tonight when I was watching the kids I sat chris cross, and I haven't reaaly done that in a long time. I was also able to get up and down off the floor with alot less trouble, and I walk with a little more spring in my step and I don't feel as worn out as I use to. I am think I am really going to lovr this healthy, smaller me. I think one of my goals is to be able to start dancing again, and do tumbling moves again, I really love to dance and in high school I was pretty good at it. Well I think I have rambled enough for one night, more tomorrow.

Well Louise Anna WELCOME TO SAHM. I am here to welcome you and if there is anything you need to talk about or a question feel free to ask it here and we will give our advice and answer what we can. Congradulations on your five wonderful kids but you shouldn't be scared it will be okay since you just started staying with the children it might take a while to find what works to give you time with all the kids but you have the two older ones that can help you in the afternoons and on the weekend so just take it day by day and soon it will be easier on you. I won't say it will be easy because I only have one and he runs me ragged so I couldn't imagine having three that are so young. But good luck to you and remember we are here if you need anything.

I should introduce myself, I am still fairly new at this and don't know all the proper etiquette. My name is Louise Anna. Mother of 4, 14, 13, 2 and 6months. I just stop working and it scares me a bit. I live in Ontario and yes it's really cold but with a good jacket, hat and mitts it's not so bad.

| Sablegirl, welcome to SAHM I think you might need to take just alittle time out of your day for yourself. Does your kids take naps if they do that would be a good way to have a little time. Also, I find myself wore out sometimes. You can still eat healthy without cooking dinner. Instead of all the chips and junk food. I keep grapes and bananas and apples around the house. I also keep raspberries. Also if you do want something hot soup is always a good choice as long as it is not creamy. Also Roast Beef is good on some wheat bread. Just a suggestion for you. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

I like the pink lemonade myself, but the raspberry ice is really good. have you tried the orange sunrise. It's yummy, tastes almost like orange juice.

Sablegirl welcome, I would like to say first and foremost You are worth finding the time for yourself. I understand about being tired. I have a 2 1/2 year old that bounces off the walls and my 9 month old that is crawling everywhere and pulling up on things.
My neice was born early also and spent almost two months in NICU. It took a lot of my sister, can't say what I know you what you went through but I see it in my sister. As for the weight. I weighed 230 before I got pregnant with my son. Gained 60 pounds and lost some but the first year it went back up to 280. I finally decided for my kids sake that I needed to get healthy for Momma to be there for them. I know that we all get tired but just looking at my kiddos and knowing they depend on me keeps me kicking. You have to say Today I am worth it. God doesn't give us things we can't handle. I know that its hard sometimes to just push through the tiredness but just think after you workout, walk, you feel better and have more energy. I probably have babbled on but I just wanted you to know that you aren't alone. No one here is. We have each other to make us strong to say Yes, I am going to make time for myself.

Ladybug, Yes, I've tried the Walmart water and I do like that too, but Walmart is about 20-45 (we have 4 in our area) so when I buy it I have to stock up and I haven't stocked up on it lately. I probably will when summer is here. I wonder if you can count Crystal Light as water, since it's basically water mixed with the powder stuff, anyone know?
