I'm not there personally, but have grandparents and parents in these types of situations.
Is there a social worker you can talk to through the hospital or medical facilities your mom and husband go through? There may be help and options out there for you. I know every state is different but there might be some sort of care giver, home aide, home helper, adult day service etc out there. Sometimes you can qualify for a sliding rate or assistance around here anyway.
Just a suggestion. I know many people I've worked with in hopsice care carry incredible loads trying to balance everything. Often even just a little help goes a long way. They also might be a resource to contact for names and information of people in the community that can help.
Try to find time to take care of yourself too!! I always say you aren't any good to others if you're too burned out and tired yourself.
Most of all hang in there, you're doing an incredible job with strength you probably didn't know you have!!

| The timing of this is just unreal. Monday my mom was put in the hospital for a staphy infection in her leg they did surgery and it took 3 hours to remove all the infection and dead tissue. I live and hour a way from my parents and my day has non hogkins lymphoma and them her being sick. I have to little girls i feel little stressed.

THANKS FOR TAKING THE TIME TO E-MAIL ME.MOST OF MY family IS NO HELP BECAUSE THEY LIVE IN ANOTHER STATE.I HAVE 2 BROTHERS THAT LIVE ALMOST NEXT DOOR BUT THEY HAVE TO WORK.MY 2 DAUGHTERS ARE HAVING TO WORK LONG HARD JOBS AND I CANT ASK THEM TO HELP.WHAT CAN I DO MY OLDEST DAUGHTER IS 40YRS.OLD AND HAS FIBRO AND IS WORKING AS A WAITRESS THE OTHER IS 37 AND DOES MEDICAL TRANSSCRIPTION AT HOME AND WORKS 10-12HRS.ADAY.I DONT MIND DOING THE CAREGIVING BUT IT TAKES SO MUCH OUT OF ME. MY HUSBAND HAS HAD THE IMPLANTS AND THEY DIDNT HELP HIM VERY MUCH. I HAVE HAD TO SHAVE HIM AND BRUSH HIS TEETH AND FEED HIM.I LOVE THE OLD COOT SO I DO THIS.WELL I NEED TO GO MY GREATGRANDSON WHO IS 8 MONTHS OLD IS SCREAMING. PLEASE E-MAIL ME AGAIN.

I am not going through the same thing, but i can tell you the number one thing that is the most important thing to do and that is to not be afraid to ask for help. You would be suprised the people that will step up to help and don't be afraid to take the help. Talk to the people at your church( even if you don't go on a regular basis). The county nursing service. Even neighbors will help you just have to ask. We helped a neighbor for over a year and truely enjoyed every minute of it. And we didn't expect anything in return except for a thank you. My 10 year old daughter would help with the laundry and i would make meals for him. I hope this helps.

| HI I JUST FOUND THIS. I HOPE THAT I CAN TALK TO SOMEONE THAT IS GOING THROUGH THE SAME THINGS OR AT LEAST SOME OF THEM THAT I AM. I AM TAKING CARE OF MY 74yr.OLD MOM THAT HAS MANY HEALTH PROBLEMS AND ALSO MY HUSBAND WHO HAS A FORM OF PARKINSONS THAT STOPS HIM FROM DOING ALMOST EVERYTHING.I ALSO HAVE A LOT OF HEALTH PROBLEMS FROM HIGH BLOODPRESSURE TO FIBRO WHICH THE PAIN FOR ME IS MORE PAINFUL THAN CHIDBIRTH WAS.I NEED TO LOSE ABOUT 100lbs.BUT I CANT WALK A LOT AND I AM ON 3meds FOR THE FIBRO,2 FOR RESTLESS LEG AND MEDS FOR THYROID. IF I DIDNT TAKE THESE MEDS I COULD NOT TAKE CARE OF MY HUSBAND AND MOM.PLEASE IS THEIR ANYONE TO TALK TO OUT THERE,I NEED HELPFUL ADVISE.
